@Vistaa - totally agree - all that will be done will be done because when the moment came where his life flashed before his eyes - he only saw her. And now that has sunk in, there is no going back - there is only going forward and reminding her she is his everything and exacting punishment of himself to remind him how close he was to losing it all because of his pride. Darcification after a year Vistaa!!! (btw, was that homerun thing based on my home base analogy because you know I am married rofl rofl)

@juiice - I am surprised quite frankly at the amount of people who do understand that ASR will exact and demand repentance from himself because he has a moral compass. When he is wrong, the person who is hardest on him is himself. It's going to be dark when she gets shot. The guilt now is nothing compared to what it will be then. When she is better Khushi will help. Consummation makes sense in the real world of feelings, but apparently not in the world of TRPs. 😕

This is my take -

It is not redemption. Redemption means he is doing actions to make amends which this is not. This is regret, remorse, guilt. This is looking back only at the moments AFTER he told her about Shyam and realizing that all the hoopla about proof, all the hurt about that terrace, all that came before were his ego and he is realizing that he would have given it up because ek cheez ka matlab hain in the entire universe right now - he loves Khushi. This is a condemned man's regret for the way he left things with his beloved wife because he let his ego make him let go of her hand when she was grasping to hold on. And now he wishes he hadn't because not only is she not here, he is physically bound. In the face of a future without her, he holds onto her memento that he took at the airport but was too proud to tell her about. He is consumed with how he didn't let her come close, when SHE wanted to, because there will never be a chance again. The only thing he could tell her was I love you. Just like during Holi, when you strip everything away, no inhibitions and in this instance no future, the misunderstanding, the proof, the anything everything - it's all white noise. The only thing is he loves her.

Why does this resonate with the viewer and not seem out of left field? Because from the day that Khushi shoved his jacket back in his face, Arnav Singh Raizada for the first time in his life felt guilt (as he said standing in the rain). Throughout every barb, we as viewers have seen his regret, bristling at his own actions - particularly after the marriage when he needed to hurt her but at the same time could not stomach the fall out of it. The remorse was always there. And if that was always there, so was his conscience. And that is why we find this in character. ASR has always had a heart. In his vision, he has been just, and when he is not, as his Nani said, his moral compass makes him punish himself.

Now will Khushi, who is the victim of his harshness, want to exact some kind of pound of flesh. I don't think so. She forgave everything prior to Teri Meri dance - including the miss kiss, because the return of the dhak dhak told us that she had moved on. I don't think the woman who is risking life and limb to get to ASR will ask for anything except him being true to her. His I love you made Khushi fight to get to him, moreso because she realized that she loves him. Khushi will not demand anything of ASR, but he will be more than happy to fulfill her wishes - as he quietly has done with two silver coins, bangles, a truck full of plates when she needed 30 and the Teri Meri dance, where he helped her win.

If I could just add about the rumored hut consummation. I am all for it as long as it is portrayed as spontaneous in the spur/heat of the moment. In my vision, as I explained, there is no asking for redemption from Khushi. There is only repentence and making amends because ASR's conscience demands it, so her waiting for her balance sheet to be equal is not playing here. (Just think about it, doesn't an unsolicited act of kindness mean so much more than the one you had to prompt to get?)

These two love each other. Khushi just wants her husband and her husband just wants her. These are genuine feelings. They are risking life and limb to be with each other and they have admitted their feelings. Everything about them has been unconventional and spur of the moment. Shall we list -
1) diwali kiss
2) teri meri
3) puchak by the pool
4) holi confession
5) wedding

It is natural under the stress of the moment, when the need to feel comfort is at its highest, when they have just come off the feeling of never seeing each other again, that these soul mates reach out to each other. They can have their stereotypical all planned out SR after the fall out of the 6 month marriage contract when they will have to get married again.

(Yes, it could be done for TRP's but if they make it spontaneous while running away from goons and hiding, then it is fine. This couple has been at foreplay since his finger stroke in the temple during Teej, so please don't say it is too soon.)

Thank you for reading if you have reached this far! Comments are welcome!

Edit - so there is a spoiler saying there is no consummation but romance in the hut. And there should be for all of the reasons I stated. So they don't get to home base, maybe they get to 3rd. (this is an American saying - google will help you decipher)

loved every bit of the word you said. i share the same views.

very nicely analysed momma.

you are very much correct. asr always had the heart. always had the concscience to guide him. he regreted every wrong thing he did irrespective of whom it is involved.

when it comes to khushi, the he could never be good to her post marriage becoz of circumstances. his guilt was always there, becoz he loved her and failed her to give the happiness.

he is filled with all those FB, as he felt there wouldl not be chance again. only thing that mattered now was he loves her.

it was not his ego that let her go of her hand..it was the culmination of doubt, pain, love. ego has left him long back.

as far as khushi is concerned..i agree with each of your word. selflessness heightens when it comes to love.

@payasa - I agree with the bold of pain doubt etc..but ego had not left him until he got into the airport and was about to turn and go back. That's when his ego took a back seat. And now with ILU, it's gone. We are back to wedding ASR, but a much rawer version who thinks there is no future. Damn that makes me sad. Why does Barun have to portray despair so well.

Your right about the "consummation is not too soon" argument! I am in agreement to that! I just didnt want some sort of "Rushed scenario"! I hope it is a heat of the moment interaction! Like the "Diwali kiss" and even the kiss by the poolside on the Mehendi day!

They are both in full awarness of their feelings for each other and in the euphoria of being together again, after thinking they may not see each other again! (Especially ASR)!!
Therefore, a consummation in these circumstances is HIGHLY probable! I hope if not that, then yes they get to 2nd or 3rd base at least! 😉... I bet some sort of "Roop Tera Mastana" type sequence in the hut is to be expected!
Come on... you are stuck in a hut in the middleev of nowhere with the man/ women you love!!! "Kuch na kuch shararat toh banata hain"!! 😳

Really, even in Aradhana they gave in to the moment. I dont see anything wrong in it. Their relationship always jumps the gun physically. And in this instance, mutual love in a desolate surrounding with the person who you thought was lost forever - they better not be playing charades.

Interesting post momma1128. ASR is guy with a strong moral fibre of right and wrong. In between grey areas are not much appreciated by him. As the truth about Khushi dawns on him his feelings of guilt/regret/remorse intensifies and so is his need to set things right .It is first about justifying to himself that he has to undo the wrongs he has done. So there is an inherent need to be redeemed by his conscience. Redemption for Khushi is not part of it as she is not looking for it and will try to stop ASR from doing it. She won't be able to see the guy suffer for herself.

agreed - "Redemption for Khushi is not part of it as she is not looking for it and will try to stop ASR from doing it. She won't be able to see the guy suffer for herself." This is the grey part she will have to explain to him

nice post.. I also felt it was not redemption but regret ..regret which he always felt when he has given her hurt..and this regret is nothing to do with her being right or wrong ..but plain fact that he loves her..
