i can definitely feel your pain. I think what has happened is, the standard for this show was set SO high in the first 6 months, that we feel letdown. I watch old episodes and I love the continuity, sharpness in dialogue, fluidity in story, - there was never a dull moment it seemed. The comedy was well-placed, the love-hate between Arnav and Khushi was constantly moving and interesting, - mostly everything seemed to click.
I think the marriage track started off well enough. I still love the episode where Arnav finds Khushi at the mandir and brings her home. I loved the "I hate you!" dialogues also. But, somewhere, the CVs decided to get off track. Now, they are desperately trying to steer back on track. Last week felt epic with the reveal. And, I am liking the idea of Khushi missing Arnav. But, everything else - doesn't really work. You're so right about the side stories. I have no interest in any of the other characters besides Arnav and Khushi (which is why I'm missing Barun so much now, b/c I am currently watching for one woman, and that can't last forever). There's a goldmine of history and stories that the CVs can work on, which they aren't.What worries me is - let's say Barun's movie does well. Or, even if the movie flops, he might still get noticed from it and start getting other offers. How long does IPKKND really have to tell its' WHOLE story? Why are they wasting time? Unfortunately, I don't think this show can go on for 3 years. I really feel like it has MAX another year left. They really need to tell the stories that are integral to the show.I have some hope that the show will get better after Barun's return. And, I HOPE and PRAY, that soon after his return we get to see the Arnav and Khushi LOVE track. It's just time. As fans, there's only so long we can wait. And, yes - the clothing and sets are atrocious. I hate the red and purple outfit Sanaya was wearing today! Uggghhh... She wears that thing every week!!!!! Where are her OLD chamkili outfits??? Why can't she wear some of those? With her hair out? Why can't she wear a sari???? It's so frustrating. And, the fact that everyone has the same room is just stupid. It's true - other shows have such extravagant sets... it makes me angry. As a fan, I hope for the best. I can't stop watching now... I'm too invested.
I agree. Here are some of my observations. To be honest, I think the movie shows very little promise, Bappi, Shenaz, it's just formula for mediocre. I don't see it performing well. Now Barun is playing a playful character, also a bad thing cause he is his best in brooding. I am afraid this will be a bad start for him but I understand he has to start somewhere. Perhaps he should not have jumped at the first offer and waited for a film with an actor that can pull an audience. A tv actor going into film cannot pull an audience, it's a different audience really that needs to be hooked. Talking strictly numbers now that Bollywood is becoming more and more commercialized. I wish him well and yes agreed that he will try to move on and so the show will have to stop like I predicted after dragging to juice the MU with nothing of the history.
I hate this pink, gold and purple outfit most. It is the epitome of tacky. I can't believe the woman got a job as a stylist making that. And she makes the same two designs, the velvet bust or the side lapel in every color. Shows that two or one deal they are buying clothes with. Money has nothing to do with it, it is just tacky.
Her old clothes were intentionally tacky (chamkeeli) but so much better than her clothes now as the Mrs. Raizada. What Arnav can't afford a few clothes for his wife? I don't understand why she can't wear saris. Saaris don't age her, she looks so cute and petite in them. Like the child wife she really is. Esp in that yellow sari. I don't understand what they are thinking.
