Rima I have different standards of purity. I dont believe being pure means not doing the physical act of hugging or having sex or whatever it is you do. Being pure is a feeling that one gets about themselves. A man or woman can hug or make love to as many people as they want as still be pure. Purity is a social construct that is severely biased in favor of men because men who sleep around as known as studs and women who sleep around are known as s**ts. And it appears this forum is filled with socially conforming, hypocritical people as well. Glad to see you stand up against the injustice every single day. I may not always comment on your threads but I do take the time to read them because you bring some sanity into this hypocritical, judgmental, biased (always in arnav's favor even when he is clearly wrong) forum.

I'd like to make a few points here.

1. ASR was in a live-in relationship with La when he was this close to kissing Khushi on Diwali night. Promptly followed by his engagement announcement to La... In spite of that, he is considered having a character. So basically, according to some people, you only have to be faithful when one person puts his official stamp on someone, verbal commitment means nothing. A man is allowed to emotionally cheat a woman but a woman is not allowed to do so. That night ASR cheated La and Khushi within a matter of minutes.

2. When Khushi got engaged, ASR manhandled her like he has any right to do so when he was preparing for his own wedding. We were thrilled to watch his passion, but does he have a character or in any position to preach about it?

3. Shyam was married, but Khushi was not. So if Shyam hugs her, he should be called characterless, not Khushi. Yet, ASR bullies Khushi. Why? She is an orphan, powerless, a woman. Why not use your power on Shyam? Because he is man and your equal? As much as ASR looks hot when he is passionate, he is a bully. He is as manipulative as Shyam. The difference is their intentions. One is protecting his family, the other is aiming for something else. But bully nonetheless. And I have no respect for bullies.

4. After Khushi got married, ASR never saw her in Shyams arms, so the first logic does not apply anymore. If he can berate Khushi for her past relationships (which by the way is all in his head), then Khushi has a right to call him characterless for talking with La after marriage.

This is called double standard... Plain and simple...

you my dear friend get a sanding ovation from me for this.
i am questioning the double standards of people through this post especially of people who are making this show. why are they conveying this message?
yes asr may love khushi but he bullies her which makes his treatment more unbearable, whatever be the reasons

the fingers point at the girl! that i'm sure of! my mother is one heck of a conservative woman. I've asked her about women's right and all and everytime she says that women have no rights in particular.

same goes over here if we take a practical perspective. like most of india, Arnav too believe that intimate women are characterless. he never actually defended lavanya unless it was linking to his ego. He has been shown to treat all girls, rich or poor like tissues. Every girl is attracted to arnav because of his money more than his good looks and yeah, that what he thinks about khushi too. Arnav's reaction changed the moment he saw them hugging! now, its a different thing that he's brain is of a lover right now, therefore doesn't pay much heed to practical logical reasons!

thank you. u know what i am a traditional and conservative person myself. but my hackles rise up when i see injustice to women and shows like this accentuate it. i did not know such a femnist streak exists in me till saw some views here and i saw how the cvs are packaging the show as a 'purity' issue. how i hate it. thanks for reading the posts. makes a difference.

oh my mom was the same. my brother could do whatever but not me. i was not allowed night outs.
but in this show we are talking about a high flying tycoon who rules the fasion industry. and this is what he does to a poor little girl?
i agree he is hurt and not thinking logically but if she turned back and asked him what did you do with la and if you were with la why did you try to kiss me on diwali what will he say?

Glad to see that we are on the same page even though I am a modern feminist (not the bra burning kind nevertheless feminist). I just dont understand how in this day and age a WOMAN can be biased on this issue. How can a women say its ok for a man to hug other women but not for a woman to hug other men (I read through some of the comments here thus I am saying this). How can a woman not be in favor of their own sex, of their own self interest and be in favor of someone's else's interests?

I applaud you for making the effort to show a mirror to the face of a society which maintains a double standard when it comes to men and women... However, women are women's enemy. It's not men pointing a finger at Khushi (well, other than ASR, but then he is a jerk), it's women telling Khushi how her action was misinterpreted and it was not darling ASR's fault. Impure... the word itself screams of double standard... What is purity? Is it women wearing chastity belts manipulating people or woman having a healthy relationship and not harming anyone? Whom will you call pure? ASR never had any solid reason to point a finger at Khushi. Yet he is choosing to misinterpret... I wonder why? Is it because he'd rather believe her to be wrong and him to be magnanimous in loving a flawed person than accepting the fact that the mighty ASR is not only wrong but he has single handedly damaged the most precious relationship of his life to the point of no return?

i agree with you. he has damaged this bond so much,
you know how i hate khushi trying to prove her innocence. and how i hate the cvs for making this a chatity and purity issue .
he has always been misinterpreting her. why?
what has she done but good? and that's why i am so passionate about her character. for me it is not about khushi but the views being expresd by the makers

he'll either brush it off, or pib her to the wall then say, "mujhe tumhe explain karne ke koi zaroorat nahi hai!"

lol, jokes apart!

thats one serious question. Double standards again. Arnav doesn't pay much attention to girls in particular. Lavanya was also something he used to maintain his high reputation. He have a big business, a lavish lifestyle and a good looking girlfriend! what a perfect life if we look it from outside!

and as far as the diwali un finished kiss is concerned than he'll probably say that i was testing how more low you could stoop or something like that.
