if lavanya was a married woman then that would apply to arnav.

khushi wasn't labelled as 'characterless' becuase she hugged shyam but because she hugged/'had an affair' with a married man.

In that case I dont think he would say that, sure he'd be bitter and jealous as hell but I dont think he would think of the hug as something disgusting or impure. It would just hurt that she picked another guy over him.

Thats how I see it and I'm not saying it's right, just that everything is complicated because Shyam is his married BIL, gender doesn't really come into it for me. Really the whole thing is so messed up, I think we'll all need therapy after it's cleared!

i get what u mean. shyam is his married brother in law etc. but when khushi clarified why isn't he giving her the benefit of doubt when she believed about La though he was more intimate with her?

Asr said her characterless even he was living with his gf without marrying her...so he is not characterless

In subcontinent especially, there's fuble standard view about men and women. I live in New York for heavens sake and i wear a shirt thats short or showing my hips, then my mom will go ranting for god knows how many hours that this is a girl dignity or whatever crap. Very conservative thoughts concerning girls in india, bangladesh and pakistan. Double standards again!

and yes, ASR is very impure in competition with khushi because he didn't just hug but did a lot more!

i agree we are conservative in many asian countries. but to what level are they showing it in the show? the man can live in and be intimate with a girl while a girl is called characterless for a hug?

Shyam hugged Khushi and asr is acting high and mighty. but he hugged la and then khushi too. so what to make of that?

I'd like to make a few points here.

1. ASR was in a live-in relationship with La when he was this close to kissing Khushi on Diwali night. Promptly followed by his engagement announcement to La... In spite of that, he is considered having a character. So basically, according to some people, you only have to be faithful when one person puts his official stamp on someone, verbal commitment means nothing. A man is allowed to emotionally cheat a woman but a woman is not allowed to do so. That night ASR cheated La and Khushi within a matter of minutes.

2. When Khushi got engaged, ASR manhandled her like he has any right to do so when he was preparing for his own wedding. We were thrilled to watch his passion, but does he have a character or in any position to preach about it?

3. Shyam was married, but Khushi was not. So if Shyam hugs her, he should be called characterless, not Khushi. Yet, ASR bullies Khushi. Why? She is an orphan, powerless, a woman. Why not use your power on Shyam? Because he is man and your equal? As much as ASR looks hot when he is passionate, he is a bully. He is as manipulative as Shyam. The difference is their intentions. One is protecting his family, the other is aiming for something else. But bully nonetheless. And I have no respect for bullies.

4. After Khushi got married, ASR never saw her in Shyams arms, so the first logic does not apply anymore. If he can berate Khushi for her past relationships (which by the way is all in his head), then Khushi has a right to call him characterless for talking with La after marriage.

This is called double standard... Plain and simple...

What he will understand from this..

Khushi should have told asr today that that wedding night i went to terrace waiting for u and suddenly shyam came. He told her that he is following her since lucknow. She kept explaining him..suddenly he hugged her and clutch her..she was so shocked from this truth and behaviour that she could not react.

i said those words out of anger..i did not mean it...

at least she should have clarify that..

other thing i am pissed off is..now she is after him to prove herself innocent. I now understood. Yesterday she did not know that ASR saw something..Today after more conversation she is feeling she did wrong hiding truth from him..she was not aspecting this strong reaction and characterless label from this hiding truth from her lover..

I still hope she proves herself innocent and set ASR free from marriage.

I don't want her to prove her innocence. as i said yesterday chastity cannot be proved. arnav should know the real khushi. he saw one hug and built his image of her character. and she saw many hugs and still accepted him as her husband. sad but true that women always accept less chastity from men

but when he was watching khushi draping the saree for la and taking off the lights and kissing her during diwali he was in a relationship with la right? why did he do it then? so a relationship is a relationship and he shouldn't have done it too right?

RIma..the hug followed by those lines r critical..it has million fools effect..its not only hug but the words also hit him
