This so much!! Or we just forgive any blips because we're too distracted by HIS FACE/ BEAUTIFUL FOREHEAD.

😆

Also, I would almost swear to there being an 'Arnav Shirt Colour Code'.

Like whenever he wears that beautiful light blue shirt, there's a separation. The white shirt tends to indicate a challenge of some sort or the laying down of a gauntlet. The emerald green shirt always has Arnav's heart making him be nice to Khushi followed swiftly by his brain causing him to be mean.

I'm surprised there isn't a topic on this. :')

EDIT: He was wearing a grey shirt (n.b.with a black waistcoat) when Khushi cried on his shoulder after finding out the truth about Shyam... I'mma keep an eye out for it. 😆

The thing is, they don't even need to get rid of him for a while to give us a substantial story. Why not have ArShi team up and work TOGETHER to reveal Shyam's truth? If they are insistent on maintaining Arnav and Khushi's love-hate dynamic, they can have Khushi be furious at Arnav for marrying her without allowing her the chance to explain but agreeing to help him for the sake of Anjali. They can have Arnav repenting every second of every day for hurting Khushi in such a way and trying to win her forgiveness...

I honestly just... I can't even...

I don't read the OS or FFs in the forum but apparently they're impressive in the way they resolve all the character conflicts, Shaym as a villain is good (mortifying now!) and initially he was brilliant in the way he balance his Rani Sahibha with renting at the Gupta's but his character too is losing it's grey spark and is being reduced to this perpetually twitching, obsessive love/potential murderer who may or may not want the child his wife is carrying. But I love that we don't have a pining, obsessive vamp. show.

But for me bottom line is NO VILLAIN is worth destroying the beauty of Arnav and Khushi's relationships which the writers have built up for the past 8 months with so much depth .. and not just their relationship but it is becoming a hindrance to their characters too. I mean seriously ASR agreed to a 6 month contract marriage without even giving the woman he loves a second to explain herself no matter AND how much fear he has of rejection I thought he was man enough to WANT to know the truth.😵

But it isn't all doom and gloom, I still have hope and I've fallen in love with Barun and Sanaya as actors not watch the show for them but the moment it starts to resemble the other SP shows my Mum watches, I'm out.

I agree. I think they are struggling to fill in as much drama as they can within the 6 month marriage contract before the truth comes out. It's what I expect. That's why plot-wise they've gone the shyam-property, and arhi-marriage.moments route. I hope they do move beyond that and get the truth out much earlier than that coz that WOULD be interesting to see how Arhi copes with that and their marriage afterwards. But, I doubt it. Whatcha think?

I totally agree with you Mary! A well written post.

I have been discussing this with my friends lately...and we all think the same, they are just dragging the story, because the MU seems to be the juiciest track they could come up with and are worried that if they show it resolved, they will not be able to keep the viewers interested in the serial, since the main premise of the story is love/hate and if there is nothing to keep the couple apart, the spark of the story will be lost!
They do not want to get out of their comfort zone...

Channel interference could also be a factor in this.

Now since they are somehow dragging the track and preventing the story from going ahead, they have to come up with something to fill in, hence these filler episodes of fashion show, Khuhsi's dabba service drama, the Bali in Delhi Honeymoon etc etc.

Many times we get the feeling that they do not have anything planned in terms of story, after the MU is cleared.
Arhi's past can be shown, but they probably want to mlik the current track as much as possible before letting it go.

Very frustrating...

You know SJ, I don't think we are. Maybe trivial but one thing I've noticed about this forum is wrath against Khushi's dressing sense - the plaits and poms poms were the bane of most topics(though I don't mind it, I kind of liked it) but have you noticed Khushi doesn't have pom poms on any of her outfits any more - the spoiler pictures and the outfit SI is wearing had poms poms attached to the sleeves the first time it was worn and NOW it doesn't. I can only credit this to the forum complaints because it's really random for them to remove the poms poms suddenly and even the new hairstyle for KKG - no more plaits. KKG wearing saris didn't go down to well with us either. So THEY do listen!

So, when the marriage track started, I was under the impression that it was going to be something very different than what's happening. I have no clue how I deluded myself, maybe through a spoiler, maybe through a dream of my own, but I really thought it was going to be about a possessive, jealous Arnav who thinks that Shyam was Khushi's first love. Yes, he believes that she broke off her engagement when she found out he was married, but his mad, jealous self cannot trust that she wasn't in love with him before that. He remembers to what extent she was willing to go to get that engagement ring back, how she had compared her fiance to himself, that bracelet she wore that was a gift from her fiance, how upset she was when the relationship broke -she did say "hamara dil toota hai"
I honestly thought that this deep and irrational jealousy was going to be the crux of the track, and it would have made so much sense. The viewers would have empathized with both Arnav and Khushi and watched as Arnav learns to trust his wife.
What is being shown makes no sense whatsoever. Episode 200 ended with Khushi finally being told by Arnav that she hurt him. We just watched episode 220 and she still has no clue how she hurt him and why she's stuck in the marriage. SERIOUSLY???????

yea i feel like CVs want to show something good in the Maha Episode, but since it keeps on getting delayed, prob cause of non-availability of time slot, they are just giving us random episodes to fill in.

I don't feel the same excitement lately (last 3 weeks or so). Anyone else feel that way? I am not into non-tycoony theme parties, business decisions and participation in society parties when there is a forced marriage and a killer looming about. I don't think they need to drag it so far. Come one, Shyam's truth cannot be the whole scope of the story now can it. There are so many ways to go as the fan fic writers have shown us. Making progress won't kill you CVs!

I feel as a writer and a viewer that I am looking interest since the awards. Hope it is only a Sanaya vacation glitch. But I have a feeling that given the performance of IPKKND in March, that is not the sole reason. Where have all the good writers gone?

Before the sensitive little ones freak out on me and call me a "basher," please look up the definition. This is criticism and a well-meant one. It is not a happy post and I am not fawning over the show but that does not mean I like Sarun or Arhi any less. So please spare me that lecture. I am asking the mature (not age wise, just anyone who can take a criticism) for their take on this view. What do you think? Has there been a downward trend lately?

Mary.

I agree with u! sometimes i even get the feeling that the cvs theirselfs dont really know how to move the story forward. and not longterm progress, but the daily episodes. I am not really excited with new epiodes since I think more that 6 weeks. I focus more on the Oss and ff and ss here in the forums and on the net. cause there are actually entertaining (keep it up guys!!! really apreciate ur hard work!!!).
but as far as it comes to the real serial the last 2 months..I have to sadly admit that its simply boring!

All good things come to an end. IPKKND is very close to that end. What saddens me the most is that this show didnt have to turn out the way it did. I was for the marriage track because it had a lot of potential. Like we could have gotten to see a growing closeness between these two, them caring for each other, Arnav getting to see that Khushi is way too innocent to ever think bad of anyone let alone his sister, they both would get to know each other over time(they did not know each other before or else this MU would never have happened, and Khushi would have known Arnav enough to understand why this forced marriage happened. She would have been able to read between the lines, but clearly they both dont know each other), they would have slowly come to trust each other, perhaps we could have had a scene where Arnav defends his wife. And someone will surely say now that have patience, they will show all this...it takes time. Well its been over a month now and the story has not moved an INCH since the day the MU started...we have been at a stand still since Feb 10th, I dont know about you but that is a long time to go without showing any real story progression...one day is a filler but what do you call it when you have one a half month of fillers. It seemed like Khushi was using her good for nothing brain when she realized she had hurt Arnav, I thought detective Khushi might get to the bottom of this...but no, we do get to see a detective Khushi when she saves ASR's business (which really Arnav you go into a meeting without background check, how did ASR get this successful...I am doubt Arnav has the one thing he so claims to have, his brain). We havent seen any development in the trust department either, which if I recall we were told would happen after marriage. This past month has been bizarre comedy (extremely embarrassing, unfunny comedy), which makes Khushi look like a 2 year old, infused with awkward rabba ve romance, and drama. None of the things they have showed over a month has had any continuity or common sense. From this marriage I was also expecting to see some maturing of Khushi, but in fact she is losing her dignity, her self-respcect. I was expecting her to turn into the woman she was always meant to be, a woman who could stand beside ASR. I understand that her childish things actually make Arnav happy, but I feel its really unreal...as in any woman who has suffered through a betrayal (shyam), broken engagement, broken heart (1st time, diwali), again broken heart (2nd time with MU), a forced marriage would not be this chirpy. I would have thought after suffering through so much there would atleast be some maturation or will she forever be a child woman. Someone that this is the amazing thing about Khushi, the ability to get back up on her feet and move on, but the problem is that it is very unrealistic...I am not saying get rid of her positive outlook, I am saying get rid of some of the extremely childish things she does, has been doing since the past month and no the fact that she is 18 is not a good excuse because I am 20 and I never behaved the way she does when I was 12 let alone at 18.
According to me, the CV's in the past month or so have affectingly butchered every character be it Arhi, Payal (who cannot even say a word in front of her saas), mami, nani, Akash. The only one they havent ruined is mamji and that too because he hardly gets any screen time, so they couldnt ruin him.
And I have to say something about the chemistry that attracted me to this show (Btw, its really funny that jaadu hai nasha hai starting playing on my windows player just now when I started talking about chemistry since the passion burned that day...passion I havent seen in a while now). I am going to copy and paste what I wrote in another thread:
"Honestly this is what happens when you base an entire show on keeping the leads apart. This whole formula of will they or wont they started with Ross and Rachel I think. And by the end honestly I dont think many people cared if Ross and Rachel got together. My point in this is that you shouldnt stretch things too far, they should have put arnav and khushi together rather than creating a completely retarded MU (btw, the way they have been handling the MU has hurt Arnav's characterization because it hurt the most important thing he claimed to have, his brain). In my opinion when you play this will they wont they game, be sure that there is enough fire between your leads that it can carry through for over a year or else the audience will lose interest (like I lost interest in chuck and blair because the makers milked it too much until the audience said screw it). And I have lost interest in this show because that fire that drove the passion between the leads, that burned me is gone...aag bujhadi kisi ne." 🥱
The writers have ruined every single good thing about this show: continuity, character growth and development, story progression, the passion between arhi, the connection between not just arhi but the other characters as well (bro-sis; nowadays anjali is used as a threat to make Arnav do anything and this arrogant business man cowers whenever he hears di...it was not like this before, I can think of many instances when Arnav didnt listen to even his dearest sis), the protectiveness arhi felt for each other. And another thing that I dont like (the list long is getting pretty long) is that before whatever happened it happened between arhi but nowadays Arhi have their fights (in which, btw, they seem no older than 5) in front of policemen and security guards. I love how whatever happened was between them 😳.
But everything is gone now: passion, emotion, protectiveness, arnav's arrogance (which I used to like) has turned into cruelty, the way they took care of each other (when Khushi was sick).
Speaking of sick, the past two episodes when Arnav was sick, they could have shown it in a romantic way (like when Khushi got sick and Arnav took care of her), but they turned it into comical. They could have shown Arnav see the concern his wife feels for him, that Khushi is willing to clean like a slave even though Arnav thinks she is having an affair. But there is no self-reflection anymore in this show.
I think the CV's started out as a romantic show and attracted a lot of people and then in order to attract more audience they turned this show into a comedy. But in doing so they are losing the loyal fan base and not to mention completely losing track of the storyline.
I want the intensity back, the way arhi burned for each other and the way I went up in flames whenever he looked at her (remember the first time Arnav saw her in a sari, I can still see that scene over and over again, but I wouldnt watch any of the recent so called romantic scenes if you paid me).
Wow I rambled on forever...it just shows how much I love this show and how sad I am seeing it fall apart piece by piece.
