All good things come to an end. IPKKND is very close to that end. What saddens me the most is that this show didnt have to turn out the way it did. I was for the marriage track because it had a lot of potential. Like we could have gotten to see a growing closeness between these two, them caring for each other, Arnav getting to see that Khushi is way too innocent to ever think bad of anyone let alone his sister, they both would get to know each other over time(they did not know each other before or else this MU would never have happened, and Khushi would have known Arnav enough to understand why this forced marriage happened. She would have been able to read between the lines, but clearly they both dont know each other), they would have slowly come to trust each other, perhaps we could have had a scene where Arnav defends his wife. And someone will surely say now that have patience, they will show all this...it takes time. Well its been over a month now and the story has not moved an INCH since the day the MU started...we have been at a stand still since Feb 10th, I dont know about you but that is a long time to go without showing any real story progression...one day is a filler but what do you call it when you have one a half month of fillers. It seemed like Khushi was using her good for nothing brain when she realized she had hurt Arnav, I thought detective Khushi might get to the bottom of this...but no, we do get to see a detective Khushi when she saves ASR's business (which really Arnav you go into a meeting without background check, how did ASR get this successful...I am doubt Arnav has the one thing he so claims to have, his brain). We havent seen any development in the trust department either, which if I recall we were told would happen after marriage. This past month has been bizarre comedy (extremely embarrassing, unfunny comedy), which makes Khushi look like a 2 year old, infused with awkward rabba ve romance, and drama. None of the things they have showed over a month has had any continuity or common sense. From this marriage I was also expecting to see some maturing of Khushi, but in fact she is losing her dignity, her self-respcect. I was expecting her to turn into the woman she was always meant to be, a woman who could stand beside ASR. I understand that her childish things actually make Arnav happy, but I feel its really unreal...as in any woman who has suffered through a betrayal (shyam), broken engagement, broken heart (1st time, diwali), again broken heart (2nd time with MU), a forced marriage would not be this chirpy. I would have thought after suffering through so much there would atleast be some maturation or will she forever be a child woman. Someone that this is the amazing thing about Khushi, the ability to get back up on her feet and move on, but the problem is that it is very unrealistic...I am not saying get rid of her positive outlook, I am saying get rid of some of the extremely childish things she does, has been doing since the past month and no the fact that she is 18 is not a good excuse because I am 20 and I never behaved the way she does when I was 12 let alone at 18.
According to me, the CV's in the past month or so have affectingly butchered every character be it Arhi, Payal (who cannot even say a word in front of her saas), mami, nani, Akash. The only one they havent ruined is mamji and that too because he hardly gets any screen time, so they couldnt ruin him.
And I have to say something about the chemistry that attracted me to this show (Btw, its really funny that jaadu hai nasha hai starting playing on my windows player just now when I started talking about chemistry since the passion burned that day...passion I havent seen in a while now). I am going to copy and paste what I wrote in another thread:
"Honestly this is what happens when you base an entire show on keeping the leads apart. This whole formula of will they or wont they started with Ross and Rachel I think. And by the end honestly I dont think many people cared if Ross and Rachel got together. My point in this is that you shouldnt stretch things too far, they should have put arnav and khushi together rather than creating a completely retarded MU (btw, the way they have been handling the MU has hurt Arnav's characterization because it hurt the most important thing he claimed to have, his brain). In my opinion when you play this will they wont they game, be sure that there is enough fire between your leads that it can carry through for over a year or else the audience will lose interest (like I lost interest in chuck and blair because the makers milked it too much until the audience said screw it). And I have lost interest in this show because that fire that drove the passion between the leads, that burned me is gone...aag bujhadi kisi ne." 🥱
The writers have ruined every single good thing about this show: continuity, character growth and development, story progression, the passion between arhi, the connection between not just arhi but the other characters as well (bro-sis; nowadays anjali is used as a threat to make Arnav do anything and this arrogant business man cowers whenever he hears di...it was not like this before, I can think of many instances when Arnav didnt listen to even his dearest sis), the protectiveness arhi felt for each other. And another thing that I dont like (the list long is getting pretty long) is that before whatever happened it happened between arhi but nowadays Arhi have their fights (in which, btw, they seem no older than 5) in front of policemen and security guards. I love how whatever happened was between them 😳.
But everything is gone now: passion, emotion, protectiveness, arnav's arrogance (which I used to like) has turned into cruelty, the way they took care of each other (when Khushi was sick).
Speaking of sick, the past two episodes when Arnav was sick, they could have shown it in a romantic way (like when Khushi got sick and Arnav took care of her), but they turned it into comical. They could have shown Arnav see the concern his wife feels for him, that Khushi is willing to clean like a slave even though Arnav thinks she is having an affair. But there is no self-reflection anymore in this show.
I think the CV's started out as a romantic show and attracted a lot of people and then in order to attract more audience they turned this show into a comedy. But in doing so they are losing the loyal fan base and not to mention completely losing track of the storyline.
I want the intensity back, the way arhi burned for each other and the way I went up in flames whenever he looked at her (remember the first time Arnav saw her in a sari, I can still see that scene over and over again, but I wouldnt watch any of the recent so called romantic scenes if you paid me).
Wow I rambled on forever...it just shows how much I love this show and how sad I am seeing it fall apart piece by piece.
