So in today's episode, I covered my face in shame, took many many deep breaths, shook my head multiple times, winced in frustration, and laughed. It was another good episode - I actually love all of them and this was better than yesterday's
Thoughts:
1. Who Mama What Mama? Okay after Mamiji, this man is basically my favorite character now after Khushi of course.
2. Anjali ji is hot. What is wrong with Shyam. And yes, I call her Anjali ji because it suits her so much. Oh my god she's adorable and why is she so skinny if she's like a few months pregnant? (Because she isn't guys - it's a conspiracy -)
3. It cracked me up when she was basically making her siblings hook up with their respective significant others. It's such a weird yet oddly Anjali thing to do. "Akash, Chote, you must sleep with your wives for me"
4. I'm not exactly sure why but Payal and Akash make me feel blush-y when they're hitting on each other. Like the whole pehle aap nahi pehle aap and after that the chase around the bedroom and the fake subtle sexual innuendo stuff made me cringe. In a cute way, but still cringe
5. Barun's shirt was really hot - I liked how it was un-tucked slightly in the back from all the dancing(?) - a guy in my class wears his shirt like that but he's obviously no ASR. I liked that belt too
6. Arnav went overboard with the dancing. I liked the scene, but the abusive undertones left me disturbed - him trying to prove to the world that Khushi is his, marking his claim in front of everyone (why do I like this guy?)
7. I've got to stop looking at these scenes as romantic. When I first started watching the show, their relationship was so mutually destructive but balanced but constructive kind of like Scarlett and Rhett's. And then they went into pre-Diwali and I fell into the romance trap. And then they went into farak nahin padta and I had to remind myself how screwed up these two are. And then Sangeet and post sangeet happened, and I fell into the romantic trap, and then this marriage stuff and then the holi stuff. It's a show that's categorized under romance, but often I feel it's anything but - it's about relationship of love and how cruel and powerful and terrible it can be. Sibling love, familial devotion, the blind adoration of a woman for a man, passionate love, meant to be together love, stuck with each love, naive, innocent love, obsession
8. More on the dance: the flinging and the deliberate forcing left me a little unsettled. I liked the argument scene later though - I think Barun and Sanaya are better actors bickering with each other than attempting another mock Teri Meri. Maybe it was meant to be forced and deliberately awkward to show the dysfunction to the audience that the family refuses to acknowledge?
9. In the beginning, when Arnav said he's going to change first, but Khushi didn't respond and he deliberately set her off to get a reaction from her - I thought that seen really proved how he's so resistant to indifference on Khushi's part and will always try to rile her up like he did pre-sangeet
10. Lol why can't Akash and Payal change in the same room? Oops Indian tv serial forgot
