COME ALIVE
Disappeared the only thing, bittersweet surrendering. Knew that it was time to say goodbye.I lay there in the dark and I close my eyes. You saved me the day that you came alive. The reason you left me to survive. You saved me the day you came alive.
She had carried on a cheerless existence for the past month.
He had brought her back to life.
It had been approximately one month since Khushi's father had passed away. They had not allowed her to attend the funeral, lest even see his face for one last time. All because of the wedding.
Now, it didn't matter, the wedding. He had believed her. Fallen in love with her completely and irrevocably. She had forgiven him, who wouldn't? Arnav had nurtured her with his kindness, his love, his worry, those eyes that spoke volumes. He had cried with her on the day her father passed away. They had shared their pain, he knew how it felt, always. They had both loved and lost.
She would cry on his chest, let out her anger, pain with those tears. And
Arnav, being Arnav had simple caressed her back, hugged her tight. But he had no idea of the intensity of the effect it had on Khushi.
The rhythmic beating of his heart, the feel of his warm hands on her back...just their close proximity would drain her of all her sorrow. He made her feel lightweight.Like a bird.
Oh and then he would bury his face into her hair, inhale her sweet scent. He held on to her for dear life. But he felt insignificant, like he couldn't do anything to ease her pain. Except muttering sweet-nothings into her ears. She made her feel complete. She was the sun to his otherwise dull mornings.
'I love you, so , so much,' Arnav whispered into her hair.'Don't leave me ever.'
She looked up to his face, entering the intoxicating grey-depths of his eyes. His eyes were moist, just like hers. She spoke softly, in phase with their rhythmic breathing.
'I love you way to much, to ever think of being away from you. I'm with you, always.'
And, then he would give one of those smirks. Khushi saw this one after a long, long time. That handsome face, the feel of his rough stubble on her neck, his fingers on her cheeks made her feel alive again.
He made her
Jalebis the other day. Ah, what fun they had over that plate of orange blobs. 'I tried, okay. Don't laugh. I know they look, well, weird..but still.' The truth was, he was ready to make hundreds of
Jalebis to hear her infectious laugh.
She picked up one, and gobbled them up.And then in a matter of few seconds all of them. Then she hugged the mesmerized man staring at her intently, knocking him breathless. She would never be truly able to describe, how much she loved him. Describe the effect he had on her fluttering heart. It was those tiny gestures that had kept her alive, move past the haunting memories.
'I love you, Arnav, so, so much.' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
