I think for most people, it would be very hard to forgive but at the same time, we have seen that he is not so smart, does not think deeply about what is happening and is not very perceptive or accurate in his judgement. Arnav thinks short-term about how to get the job done but does not consider the long-term consequences. Kushi on the other hand is far more intuitive and smarter, I would like her to decide her own path and do what she wants and feels is right. For me, what would really be ground-breaking is for there to be an acknowledgement that Kushi is a strong and independent woman. It would be interesting to see her become successful in her own right, perhaps with Arnav guiding her. This is a love story first and foremost but love can take many forms or be expressed in many ways - trust, friendship, desire, attraction, respect. There could be many ways that these two characters develop and perhaps it would be nice to see a relationship progress without the over the top melodrama that is rampant in other Indian soaps. The fact that this show avoids a lot of cliches is what makes it so great and different. My favourite twist would be is if Shyam blurted out the truth to Anjali as he could no longer cope with 'his love' for Kushi. That would be amazing!

I completely agree with you. I absolutely and simply loved your post. Thank you so much for saying what you said. I am sorry to rant and vent in your post, but I have to get this out of my system to go back to being Loopy. So thanks for giving me the opportunity. Length alert. It is 3 miles long.
I don't know what is more bothersome. The CVs characterization killing. Or the audience / majority forum members glorifying ASR in the name of fiction at the same time lynching Kushi and Gupta women and Shyam in the name of justifying ASR. If ASR is fiction so are all the other characters fiction, right?I wanted to make a post, but instead of making a separate post, since you have touched on the very topic I wanted to post, I wanted to reply here instead, as there seem to be like minded people in this post, albeit in a minority.
For all the gloaters out there who are gloating that ASR won and how intelligent he is and how great he is. I am sorry. ASR did not win. The only winner in this entire serial so far is Shyam and no one else. And he is winning and how. He is not there in much of the episodes. He doesn't do much villainy. He is not even a stalker like SRK in Darr. All his attempts fail. But the one time his brain clicked for one second realizing ASR doesn't know Kushi does not like Shyam, it was enough for him to cause such devastation in Kushi's life, be it her torture at hands of ASR, ASR so called pain, Raizada parivaar pain, Anjalis unending tears and pain for chotey getting married, GH pain. With one simple brain cell use, Shyam delivered a blow which will be thundering in the lives of everyone, in the present and into the far foreseeable feature. In every serial, it takes 10-12 villains scheming against one hapless heroine and the villains are always busy and get as much screen time as the lead actress crying. Look at the villains in the top 2 shows with the highest TRPs. The villains are there 20 minutes of the episode. Here Shyam is rarely seen, rarely plots, rarely succeeds, but in one pivotal moment he rendered ASR mute, deaf and dumb.
ASR's current actions are cruel, criminal and unpardonable.
Reason I say CVs killed his characterization is because, they showed, the ruthless ASR layers peeling off. His heart being unlocked. His defensive walls crumbling. His emotions bubbling to the top. He never even had a loving glance towards La, but he was flirting with Kushi. In the pretext of challenges, he was stealing pecks. He was doing things which even his own Di, never thought he would do. If a character was shown through such transformation, it cannot be lust. It has to be genuine warmth he feels towards Kushi. The warmth and love does not come easily. He tried to curb her. She rose to the challenge. He tried to kill his feelings. Kushi just by being Kushi did not let him succeed in suppressing his feeling. Her tears, evaporated from her cheeks but became a deluge in his heart breaking down the locks. Her getting up after each humiliation, showed him, she has strength enough for both of them. The ambulance episode, indicated, he was just not in head over heals in love with her, but she became a reason for Arnavs existence and ASRs demise, which even his Di and her tears couldn't do. He could never love any body and laughed at Anjali's definition of Love. Kushi turned him into a complete Arnav. The moment he realized that he wanted to tell her his feelings. That kind of love where the person you love existence makes a world of difference, doesn't happen in real or fictional live, if you do not trust your own feelings. You cannot trust your own feelings about another person, if you do not have innate trust in that someone. You cannot break down in the middle of the road, forget to breathe, brain number, heart stopped, if you do not know the other person also has same kind of love for you. He knew the effect he had on Kushi. He knew the effect Kushi had on him. Kushi has become his heartbeat and the reason his heart started beating and the human inside awoke and the passion inside started to rage.
For him to lose all that based on this sentence, is why I say CVs have killed his characterization. Hug is immaterial. All Kushi said was, "if your marriage holds no importance to you, why don't you leave your wife. Why don't you leave Anjali alone". Did she say, why don't you leave your wife and marry me. Did she say, I don't care if you are married. Did she say I don't hold any importance of your marriage? She said, "if you don't value your marriage". He has heard Kushi talk about sanctity of marriage so many times. ASR who is shown to have so much internalization and reflection of thoughts, is seen repeating those sentences over and over again. It never occurred to him, the person who changed him from ASR to Arnav, the person who successfully turned him into a better human that none of his family could, the person for whom his heart went dhak dhak, possibly could be trying to say something else. If the love you had for her evaporates so easily, was it love to ever begin with. If the trust you had on her as a human being to have changed you and to have you want her in the rest of your life disappear so fast, was there trust to begin with? If there was no trust and no love, why does it pain him (more as per some forum members) even now when she is hurting?
So it has to be real love. So now my question. CVs is trying to show a person who is really in love with a woman, who he also wants to hate because of what he thinks she might have done or will do. But, the character, so far has not a single time, tried to give her the benefit of doubt.
When Garima slapped, people had orga*ms at the look he gave Garima. When neighbors taunted Kushi, people wrote poetry on how he defended his wife's honor. Why hasn't ASR once asked himself, why does he feel this way about Kushi, whom he wants to destroy. Why hasn't ASR asked himself once, why does it hurt him to see Kushi hurt. What could be behind it. That is called a subconscious. So his subconscious is trying to tell him something. CVs broach that topic but to drag it on, they are making a mockery of both ASR and Kushi's characters. Yes as CVs, they want the show to run for years. But is that reason enough to kill the characterizations you so lovingly created? If she was guilty of being a low class woman who wants to steal another woman's husband, why does his heart still beat for her. Why does his heart still hurt for her. What does that say about ASR character.
He is letting his BIL, who taunted and told him on his face you can do what ever you want, but Anjali doesn't mean anything, still sleep with his sister. This is where CVs have failed. If they showed ASR doing something for Shyam where he is forced to leave town, maybe episodes would have been salvageable. As it is, in the first few months it was well established Shyam is never home for more than one or two hours in a week.. So it is a normal, day, week, month, if he were to disappear with occasional phone calls in between. But no, Shyam gets to go behind locked doors every night and could be emotionally torturing his wife. Does ASR know he is not. Anjali is not the type to tell anyone in the world of Shyam's deficiencies, even if she is smart enough to notice them. What kind of love is this for his sister.
Then, he still loves the women, who is having and affair with your BIL who is still sleeping with your sister.
Is ASR a sadist or a masochist? Why would he put his sister in danger when his BIL openly challenged him. Why would he love a woman who broke his heart, whom you are destroying day by day, who is an adulteress. What does that say about ASR?
In closing, I want to repeat, hats off to CVs for what they did with Shyam. Shyam has been winning against ASR making ASR act and do cruel things to Kushi which is hurting her immensely. Shyam killed ASR's love for Kushi or so it is made to seem. Shyam still gets to ogle Kushi. Touch her. Dream about Kushi while sleeping with his wife. Shyam gets to influence, brainwash Anjali behind closed doors. ASR is hurting his own Di by concealing the truth. Shyam will win even then because now CVs have only two way to make Anjali react when the truth comes out. She either kicks Shyam out, or they make her into a villain and will come into Shyam's words and brainwash. Shyam will not be kicked out. No villain is until the last episode when he magically transforms. So, Shyam will still inflict hurt for Anjali which in turn will hurt ASR which in urn will hurt Kushi which in turn will hurt all the families. The only person who will not be hurt even when the truth comes out is Shyam.
So, if your present is being tortures and you in turn are torturing others lives did you really win.
So, if your future, 6 months or 9 months, when truth comes out, there will be more torture, for hiding the truth, for realizing how you tortured your love, how you get tortured by seeing what your Di has to go through when the truth comes out, did you really win.
Out of all the characters, Shyam is the only winner. Because, CVs have closed the windows, doors, roads, paths for all other characters to ever win anything. Basically, the magic is dead. Any magic they may show in future is not the same. One could always piece together a broken vase, a broken mirror, a broken marriage, a broken heart. But they will have the scars permanently. When there are scars, the love is never pure, the innocence is never back and the romance is never soaring. Because even after all this, the characters are shown to show no scars of what happened, even in fictional world, it is as ASR say, utterly unbelievable.
Sorry, I do not know if I made sense and all, but I had to get this out. So thanks for making a post and giving me an avenue to let this out.

One of my friends had made a post asking if ASR could make a good poker player. I had replied back then that ASR would suck as a poker player. Because he makes threats which hold no water at all and someone like Shyam would completely see through it and call his bluff in a sec. However, Khushi has been bluffed by Shyam again and again and yet she believes in the bluff that Shyam will turn good with Anji's baby on the way. Conclusion : ASR can only win in a game of poker if his opponent is Khushi and NOT Shyam. So, for all the 'brains' that ASR has been gifted with by our CVs, he CANNOT play such games with Shyam.
Hi Vibha...
Just read your post...as usual, you have penned (or rather typed 😊) down your thoughts so well.Very well written.Unfair is the right word...for Khushi's situation. After seeing today's episode I was even more frustrated...I felt there was too much lightness shown on Khushi's side...her reaction should have been of anger and hurt towards Arnav...for she doesn't know that he was playing her..in her opinion he is playing with Payash's marrige - shouldn't that make her more angry?!Instead we got Tom and Jerry, a forced Rabba Ve (although i loved Barun and Sanaya's expressions in that, the RV itself did not appeal to me) and again him rubbing her 'defeat' in her face and yet again intimidating and belittling her.The whole week seems like a waste of time to me...what was the point of all this? Khushi has been made to look like a silly child who ran away from home, and was taught a lesson by her hubbyI did not like the ending of the episode today at all...

Thanks lovie for your comments, they are brilliant as usual...Same here even today's episode was waste of 20minutes...i liked the Rabba Ve purely because it was not as fake as before but again it looked bit out of place...like they remembered and added in...Now that the awards are over i hope this story moves forward...it would be so nice to see how shyam's face is uncovered and how khushi will handle this...i am thinking where are they going to put the holi promo in all this???again another misplaced sequence with no concept of continuitity...barun sanaya rock and the awards they won proves it but oh someone please move this darn story forward!!!!
