Ha ha...I have lived in India enough to know about letch like Shyamu... Sumana... They arereally disgusting...🤢...But you see those people dont care who the girl...is...So if thats what Shyamus problem is then he would do that for other girls to...not only Khushi...Payal...and may be some others...But never mind...I don't even want to waste any ink writing about Shyamu...I just hope the story allows me to continue to ignore him...unless some big twist needs to happen...and I have to tolerate him for a scene or two.. @Khushifan...Nice predictions..! I would love to see Shashi playing a critical role too...He seems to be a very intelligent character...and one with a heart too...I like him...!!😃
I hope Anj is as complex as you predict...I wouldn' want her to be plain bad...
Ratna, Zu...what interview are you referring to from Nissar Parvez? I am a bit confused about the roles these different people play in creation of this setial...BTW always wanted to ask what does PH stand for...please pardon my ignorance...
Sheila good points about working titles...we shouldnt freak out...but it is just that...the title seem to suggest "saut" is the main theme...which I would hate to see...
Sim...I like the costumes...although I would have liked Khushi to have a more distinct style after mariage...she looks like other SP bahus...very typical...Arnies clothes suit his charcater...Divya and I threw a fit when he wore the green T-shirt in La track...totally killed his charcater...Thank God they are done with those...
But more recently...the orange sweater...was like...WHAT is THIS? for me...

@ Smitar,

And no filler episodes pls. By the way, rona-dhona has outstayed its welcome. No more, for God's sake.

Amen!

@ Sush, and others on Shyam
I don't think his character is that unrealistic. There are characters like that, who are not casanovas, who have found a meal ticket and who are all set in comfort and know not to jeopardise that meal ticket but then that one girl comes along who answers all his secret fantansies and he really falls in love and since he is majorly screweed up, it means love iwll always manifest as possession. if he kills her, knowing ASR i assume she has tons of wealth in her own right that goes to him.. that is the only logic i can think of.. though of course if he kept her alive he would get far more..

@ Atithi,
I have been wondering about the same thing though not from the serial point of view. I was just trying to imagine, as we always do 😳, that ArHi are real and they live together in love. What on earth would they talk about? How would they connect apart from issues of household matters? Would their deep love and passion help them find common ground to engage in , when they are together ? Do such relationships work in real life? I dont know - I like to think they do, but... I would love it if the serial showed that..

great discussion.

Fingers and toes crossed for a free zone from "Gupta Parivaar Taunt fest free"and "inopportune interruptions from Anji"

I pity the serial makers...

  • be on prime time and keep TRP high enough that you are not off the air
  • satisfy audience with demographic profile ranging in age (9-60 years), culture (at least north south divide, urban semi urban small town)
  • show something every single evening for 20 mns, matching what is happening right now in India (q : do they have to show all the festivals as they occur as part of a rule book or is it a TRP strategy)
  • make sense (most of the time)
the team really rocks

@ Sush: PH is Production House😊
Gautam Hegde is the screenplay writer and i think producer as well. I don't have a link to his article but the gist was where he mentioned that all villains, misunderstandings, supporting cast etc is used to bring the leads closer. He goes on to explain that if Arnav had not misunderstood Khushi in the first episode, the romance that was shown would not have felt so sweet and like the leads had earned it. Then he mentions the formula for a successful 500 episodes.
If anyone has the link please post it. I'll look to see if i can find it!

Hey ...I see another P&P fan!!! The BBC version was my all time favorite!!!! Colin Firth was amazing...wasn't he?
I agree...CVs have a tough job!! I admire their creativity to be able to do what they do...it is always easier to criticize than do something creative!
daily soap is an extremely difficult medium to keep the characters sharp and the story crisp...😃
Thanks Meens...This PH...thing has been puzzling me!!

Hi Sush!
I too read this article the other day and was completely shocked when they thought of that title initially.. Who would ever want to be a part of that show if the title itself is unpleasing.
I'm glad they've had some other titles in their title listings.
About Shyam, at the present situation, I find a lot of people even tho they are married but they still go out to find girls - but in his, he got married for money and is after the beauty of a girl - lust. But in real life, its about their feeling of satisfaction - whether they're happy or not with their current status. I think this is what makes both different.
Kudos to the entire team for their hardwork and passion towards this show - I can't wait for the day that this show will be on the top of the tops :D

awesome Points Sush...very aptly put...though agree with ur mom on sleeping by the poolside thingy...but then Arnie should not do it, otherwise we won't be able to forgive him, even if Khushi does...

When i read Gul's interview i thought they had all plans of getting Khushi married to Shyam and then show Arnav's angst...cause they took a smilar route in GEET, where the female lead got married to the male leads married brother, they also consumated the marriage and then she realizes that she was cheated...thank god they didn't take it that way...would've been difficult to digest it...

I totally agree with you about making it ArHi story and not arnav-anji...afterall the producers always said that its a love story...have seen anji-arnie sibling-story from the start, now we want to see ArHi love story...

Awesome analysis of the interview, Sush!! I too hope they don't cross the line with Arnav from ruthless to cruel!! And also I don't want this to turn into another saas-bahu (Anjali-Khushi) serial with rhona dhona!!

IPKKND is different and should remain different.

Hi Sush,

Thanks for sharing the interview and offering your analysis.

The original title scares me, hope they have abandoned that idea seeing the viewers' craze for Arhi.

So we get first eight months of Arnav-Khushi-Shyam triangle which was a torture for me because I hate the whole concept of Jijaji in love with BIL's wife, i find it disgusting. And now there is this possibility that this will be followed by an Anjaii-Arnav-Khushi triangle, which is again very disheartening and disappointing. I expect a lot of sacrifice from Anjali, she being the older and in the position of mother to Arnav. I don't expect her to make his life any more difficult than it already is.

I hope the PH recognizes the viewers' pulse and give proper direction to the next track (which should be strengthening the love and trust between Arhi).

@ Sush, you have no idea how much of a fanatic I am on P&P.. I stil cant digest the fact that Jane (you know our friend Jane 😆) wrote it in 18th century and people are still re-making it to their hearts content. and yes, on a bad day, I just pop in my BBC Colin Firth J Erle version and get settled on my couch and all is right iwth the world 😃

I would be so happy if they showed Anjali suddenly becoming this strong person and kicking her husband .. but i guess that does not happen in Indian telly universe. I wonder what owuld happen if they tried it.. I think it wold go down well actually

Nice post!! totally agree with you.. I too dont want this to be story of Anji, but want it to be of Arhi more..I hope they keep focus on Arhi. Even if they want to change original story line for this, i dont worry.. I am watching this only and only because of Arhi..
