Great summary Diya!

I'll just say the CVs have made their own job million times tougher by showing this kind of marriage. If they both were in it together, it would've been very easy for them to get back to the love story. Now, they've to tread very very carefully to justify ASR's impulsive step in future, whenever that happens.
The overdose of melodrama on Friday was a put off, honestly. Garima slapping Khushi, Anjali crying, the blackmail... The marriage was ASR's way of getting back at Shyam, not even thinking once abt what he's losing in the process. I had thought that though his initial reaction would be to suspect Khushi, but it won't last long. Seems like the CVs have thought otherwise. Also, I STILL don't get what he seeks to accomplish through the marriage, so there. Does he want Anjali to remain with the cheat lifelong? And in case he does plan to tell her eventually, then why the marriage? Or was it just a thoughtless act?

I mentioned this in Sush's thread too... Now when Khushi finds out what conclusion Arnav reached abt her and Shyam, HOW will she forgive him? Won't she think of this marriage as a burden, cause she was given NO choice. She was used by ASR as a mere weapon to win against Shyam, nothing else. So will the CVs be able to justify ALL this? Will wait and see... I'm not saying that ASR was wrong with his reaction, but it makes everything a lot harder.

Also, hoping that they aren't going the cliched route of hero ill-treating the heroine, her crying and taking it all silently, and then both falling in love after some passionate scenes. I'm wishing for loads of things NOT to happen here, 😆 but the CVs have taken such a route that there's loads of things that can go wrong.

Diya, my like button is acting up again but I loved your post!!!
The week that was, was intense! While trust was starting to build from Khushi's side, unfortunately it was going to take more time on Arnav's. Arnav hasn't reached the stage where he trusts Khushi yet, where he can't believe that she would never do something like that so instead he chooses to believe Shyam's words without giving Khushi the benefit of the doubt. Barun was amazing when he went for a drive and just let out all his emotions, that scene was so well written and acted by Barun. I knew Arnav loved Khushi but it was only in this scene where I realized just how much he did, his heart was broken, he was hurting bad.
Initially I was annoyed that Khushi changed her mind about telling Arnav the truth but then I realized this is who she is. Khushi is thinking about Anjali and her child here, the timing wouldn't be right and her being the hopeful person she is probably thought if anything a child would change Shyam for the better. Sadly Khushi has no idea how wrong she is!
Arnav going back to being ASR and being rough with Khushi, using her weakness as a means to protect his was harsh but in anger that is the only thing ASR knows to do. In anger ASR doesn't think things through, he just makes an impulsive decision without any thought of the conseqences that come with it. I am so glad that Arnav is facing just as much heat as Khushi is for their sudden marriage, even more so I am glad he got a glimpse and feel at Khushi's pain when her mother slapped her. Sanaya was in top form in this episode, too good!!
Based on the precap Arnav is going to continue getting a glimpse into Khushi's pain since it seems he will be isolated from his family too. I cannot wait for Arnav to learn the truth and really work hard to win back Khushi, a simple sorry shouldn't be enough considering the hell she is going through.

Sorry for the late late reply Diya!!

Lovely summary...of the heartbreaking week's episodes.

I have ranted and cribbed in a lot of posts and am out of the strength to repeat that here 😆

All I'll say is that I hope they do not drag this hatred/mental anguish/cruel taunting track too much.
Manorama was enough to poison things around...and now she has been re-armed with Arhi's wedding fiasco as well..lI am hoping Nani accepts Khushi jaldi se...frankly, only Nani can be her true ally...have given up on Anjali after seeing the spoiler pics of Monday...she is too self absorbed to notice her own brother's anguish...woh Khushi ke dukh ko kya samjhegi?!!

@ipkknd89, lattelove9 , magnetic 693 ...4kdrama ... anyone else i missed ... thank you all !!

@nikkiapril ... thank you so much ... when the acting is so good, and they leave things to the imagination, I enjoy going in depth into the scene. I prefer the understated to the obvious, and this week although the track was cliched, the presentation was great and the acting was excellent ...

Yes, his 'dimaag' wasn't working like it did not in all his past knee jerk reactions taken in anger.

Hey Opti ... thank you!

Posting below what I posted in your bog.

My heart went out to the poor girl. Isn't it ironic that she was emotionally blackmailed into a hurried and unwilling engagement which she ultimately broke on realising her fiance was a married man and now she got emotionally blackmailed again into a hurried and unwilling wedding because she is believed to be trying to break up the very marriage she had earlier saved? What's worse is that the indecent proposal of a short term marriage comes from the man she loves and that too at a time when she was expecting a love confession from him. Her trust in the man which was just beginning to be restored by his thoughtful and sensitive acts during the run up to the wedding just got rudely crushed. It would be a Herculian task for the man to get her to trust him again once he realises the biggest blunder he has made in his life.

Yes, exactly what I felt ... Arnav will learn to trust Khushi through this ... will Khushi lose all her trust in Arnav now? First blackmailed for her father's sake into an engagement which she never wanted ... and now into a marriage for her sister's sake, to a man she loves but who thinks the worst of her and is marrying her for all the wrong reasons ... for that one mistake she made, that too, with the best of intentions ... Poor girl indeed.

If only he had used his famed 'dimag' if not his newly found 'dil', he would have realised that Khushi is the last person who would tango with a married man. Had he not seen the woman shed tears seeing him in the arms of another woman? Had he not seen the stark pain in her eyes when he announced his engagement to that woman? Did she not rush into his arms to seek comfort when her dad was seriously ill? Did he not hear her berate him for belittling the institution of marriage? How could he even think that this woman is in love with another man and that too a married one at that? Yes, he heard her ask him to break ties with her, but what makes him think that she said that so as to get married to him? Oh sorry, he wasn't thinking. After all his brain shuts down when his fury flares up.

Yes, and that is supposed to excuse everything he does ...

Added in this post:

I felt deep down he cannot believe in Khushi's duplicity because if she was capable of leading him on when she had her eyes and heart fixed on his bro-in-law, would she also not have been capable of double crossing him and back out of the forced marriage after ensuring Payal and Akaash were married? He seemed to believe that once she has given her word, she will not retract. One can argue that he was sure she would not take the chance of backtracking because of the threat that he could mess up Payal's married life if she did so. But then could he not have done that if she had succeeded in breaking Anjali's marriage and hooked up with Shyam post the break up? Would that not have deterred her from going down that path, considering how much she loves her sister? If she cared two hoots about the repercussions of a possible marriage to Shyam in future on her sister's marriage, why would she not want to risk her sister's happiness when he laid out his conditional marriage proposal?

He also seemed to believe that she will honour the sanctity of their short-term marriage once she is tied to him and would stay away from Shyam during that period so that Anjali's pregnancy could be stress free. Isn't it strange that such a girl would have no qualms tangoing with a much married man then?

So it is clear that he was not thinking rationally but he knew in the depths of his heart that Khushi has some principles which he can rely on to get her to agree to this preposterous proposal of his.
Once his anger dies down I want him to introspect on both their actions. I want him to scratch beneath the surface and dig out the truth, for something clearly does not add up here and if he is half as intelligent as he claims himself to be, he needs to connect the dots. I don't want everything to be spelt out for him.

Exactly ... in fact he was following his heart, not rationalising at all ... instinctively he knew what buttons to press, and also that Khushi would follow through on her side of the bargain ... after all, hadn't he seen that already?

And yes, his remorse, once he realises the huge blunder he committed, is going to be enormous to say the least and I want him to make up to her big time. I know he is a man of actions and not so much of words and I would love to see the lengths he would go to make things right for her. Would love to see him propose to her under a starry night when he first looks up at the stars she pointed out as her amma and bhabuji and promises them that he will always strive to make their Khushi, always khushi in her life, stand by her in all her trials and tribulations and respect and honour her for the rest of his life. I don't think Khushi can resist that. I also want Khushi to know about Arnav past to understand where he is coming from. I'm sure Arnav is not going to tell her about it but she could find out from Anjali, now that she is her sister-in-law.

I do want Khushi to slowly start understanding him more now, his complexities, his insecurities ... whether she will get it from Anjali who is neurotic, I don't know ... but how about Nani? Or Akash? Akash likes Khushi, I'm almost sure he and Payal will support her as much as they can ...

Coming to the latest rash action in the form of his sudden decision to marry Khushi, I felt it was a retaliation to Shyam unspoken challenge to him after he learns that he is going to become a father. Shyam gloated seeing Arnav's swirm in frustration when his sister hugged him and said how happy she was that they are in the family way. He had to put the guy in place by taking away the object of his obsession from his reach. He seemed to tell him "So you think you can have your cake and eat it too? Think again because this delicious piece is now out of your reach."

I also think the CVs were tapping in on some old fashioned views that men like Shyam may be more attracted to virgins than to women who have been with other men. So I guess Arnav could have thought that he can create the impression that Khushi would no longer be the virgin Shyam so desires post her marriage to him and what Shyam longed to own is now his.

The good that will come out of this track, as you pointed out, is that the trust and respect between these two will grow stronger after they have weathered the storm.

You are very right here ... 👏 never thought of that. In fact Shyam has thrown him an open challenge in two ways - do what you want, but I hold the aces - you will not tell your sister about me now, because you know she can't take it, while I have no such compunction, I can tell her any time I decide I want to break this marriage ... and in the meantime, my love is in cahoots with me too, and she happens to be the girl you love ... but she's mine ...

So Arnav is actually responding to both challenges by neutralizing Khushi ... your love is now my wife ... you break my sister's heart and I can do anything with my wife that I want ... touching your second point ... making Khushi soiled goods for Shyam as it were ... in any case, most men find it difficult to stomach that they are not the first in their women's lives ...

What I'm looking forward to is Arnav reaction when he finds out that he has misjudged Khushi .. he has a lot of making up to do.

I am sure the guy is going to break down completely when he finds out how much he has wronged this poor girl. The guy was feeling remorseful for the harsh and rash acts he had committed when he was not fully in love with her. Now that he is totally in love with her and has also seen the growing feelings the girl has for him, if he realises the magnitude of pain he has inflicted on her because of this hasty decision, it is going to kill him. In fact I think he is going to suffer every day even before he realises the truth because her agonising eyes will keep piercing his heart every time he sees her. This is the reason I dont want this track of Arshi's pain and agony to stretch too long.

Diya it seems with this upcoming track both Arnav and Khushi will get a better understanding of each other as trust is built. This track holds a lot of promise and I hope the CVs don't disappoint
I do believe Akash and Payal will be their siblings strength through this, can't see either turning their backs. I think both will be puzzled at what happened and will want to find out more

Hey Diya...
Thanks for the PM...😊
i am so sorry, i couldnt reply earlier...i was out of town..anyway, i loved your post...😳.I think last week, saw a definite shift in the graph, in terms of intensity and drama.I honestly dont like to watch sad angsty ones, and was planning on skipping some episodes...but the stellar performances of SI and BS kept me riveted...and i ended up watching them anyway.
Like you said...mu heart went out to Khushi...( thu and fri epi)..and SI did a brilliant job..i choked up..when i saw the Arhi poolside scenes. The whole slap from Garima was uncalled for...i mean, they didnt have to show that, just to prove from Arnav's reaction that he loves Khushi.I wished he had manned up and said something in her defense...Agreed, he hates her...but he was also the one who coerced her into this contract marriage..and being so shrewd and calculative, he should have predicted the repercussions of such a rash decision..and done necessary damage control.Instead, we got to see a very different Arnav..who seemed almost guilty...( which he should), at his action...clearly he didnt seem to react as ASR would have.

I hope the coming week, doesnt bring in too much of Anjail di and baby bro bonding...i love their scenes...but honestly, it is getting suffocating watching Anjail cry all the time, and Arnav feeling guilty about it..and tormenting poor Khushi over it..😕...
