Is it for KHOOSI?
The small town girl from lucknow, who knows how to get things done, has no qualms of running in the middle of the night to get her "Would be Jijaji to see the light of day".
Rankle a few whiskers of a certain hot-shot business man by walking through and making a utter mess of a Oh La La Fashion show.
Never stopping to think twice on what would be true repercussions of her actions as far as this hot-shot business man is concerned and get his goat whenever possible!
Irk and rile him up the wall, so that he sees nothing but RED, such that RED becomes his favorite vision.
And yet be the gentle daughter, sister and woman inside, responding to every need of her family and friends
Quivering, wanting and enjoying every touch of the very hot-shot businessman, to be insane enough to actually perceive him as her PRINCE CHARMING!!
Is it for Anjali?
The well educated, rich, homely, ideal daughter-in-law and wife who puts her every need on the backbench to make sure her family functions together at a unit.
Believes in the existence of the supreme power to dedicate every aspect of her life to his/her presence.
Waits every night for her husband to return home from his lascivious excursions.
And above all, is (supposed to be) attuned to every living fibre in her brothers body that he may sneeze on mars and she will be off on an explorer with some vicks and nyquil!
Is it for Shyam?
The sidey, snakey lawyer who uses his professional learnings to wind and twist arguments to win his case be it at home or at his other not-so-morally acceptable adventures!
Who has managed to cripple a weak man to paralyze him that he is left to express himself with tiny hand and facial gestures, that his entire family understands him beautifully!
Is it for Akash and Payal?
For their mishaps over dupattas, aloos, diyas, autos and god knows what else? Gentle and sensitive as their superlatives can get!
Is it for Lavanya Kashyap?
The one who went from"Oh so sophisticated" to "Oh so domesticated"!
Is it for Mami and Mama?
For her HELLO HI BYE-BYE and rolling eyes and his much obvious lack of presence?
Is it for Nani and her Lachmi?
For her "Oh LA LA" whatta dance and her obsessions with a poor ol' goat that unknown to itself is the object of desire by many on this forum!!
Is it for Garima and Buaji?
To their brilliant senses of PERCEPTION and judgement!
Is it for the mysterious Aman?
The one who truly bears the brunt and runs the Raizada empire!
Is it for the peek-a-boo Prakash family?
Those who share a familial bond to the raizadas?
Or finally the ARROGANT-SUPERCILIOUS-OVERBEARING-RUDE-UNRELENTING-ACRIMONIOUS-AGNOSTIC, yet gentle, passionate, fair and PERCEPTIVE (ran out of adjectives there 😆) hot-shot Arnav Singh Raizada?
He is known as ASR by those who fear him, Arnavji by those who respect, adore him and arent scared to point out his flaws, Arnav bitwa by those who look upon him fondly as a child with a temper and CHOTE by those to whom his will always be the smaller, younger one!
He who swore to himself to erase any remnants of his dad in his life, made an empire, bought back a ancestral home, caters to every whim, fancy and desire of his only family, his sister.
He who talks and fights back against his grandmother just to win an argument and brings a Lavanya Kashyap into the family, only to be domesticated like a Lachmi!
He who MANHANDLES every fibre and being in Khoosi, bringing her pain and hurt.
He who throws her from buildings such that she wows to fight back!
He who sends her to God forsaken ruins unknowingly, but runs back holding every breath to save her life.
He who breaks and hurts her everytime he touches her, bruises her, yet she comes back fighting.
He who never stops to remind her of her poor status and her gold-digger mentality, only for her to keep proving him wrong.
He who runs frantic when she goes missing in a forest only to let her know that she cant do one thing right and stands dazzled at the sight of her, giving back her dupatta when she gets embarrassed of her state of undress, the same which he tears on multiple occasions.
He who catches her over and over again lest she fall and hurt herself.
He who enjoys locking her up in the dark but comes back in tears the next day and nurses her back to health.
He who is ready to kill someone who as much as touches her.
He who plays unfair just to see her jump with joy.
He who unwires her only to have them both wired up in desire.
He who saves her reminders like her payal only to lace it back on to her feet as if making love to her.
He who loses control when he sees her in red, almost kisses her but backs away realizing the consequences of his action.
He who runs away as far as possible breaking her heart, letting her know that a rich man like him would never be fantasizing about her.
He who breaks down knowing of her engagement to almost confess his state of distress, caused by the one and only her.
He who is determined to make her take back her words "Mujhe farak nahi padta"!
Well he is man of CONTRADICTIONS!
Ever thought if ASR wasnt ASR, if he was an Akash, or for that matter a Ahem Modi or a Ishaan Kashyap or a Virat Wadhera, a Sooraj (dont know last name 😆), a Naitik Sighania, or a Aditya Jakkad, we would be watching a Payal-Akash love story, or Saathiya, or Sasural Genda Phool, or Meri Behna or Diya aur Bati or Yeh Rista or Maryaada!
So why dont we or why do we?
Well they are all good shows in their own ways, each telling a different story with different characters catering to different audiences!
And well we do watch Iss Pyaar (Atleast I do), well coz something about it appeals to us! Which ever character, which ever perception of the character we have, it piques our curiosity in some way that despite our rants and issues we are back on the very next day waiting to see what happened? Did Arnav manhandle khoosi ? Did they kiss? Are they getting married? Did Shyam get away? Is Anjali still dumb? On and on...😆
And why are we here?
Well some of us like me have nothing better to do! The rest well want to discuss what they feel, what they would like to see and what dont appreciate! Some are the best of friends and some form groups and certain others have internet battles to rage! 😆
At the end of the day, everyone still watchs the show coz it APPEALS to them someway or the other! Period, no two ways about it!! 😃
That said, I hope I got my point across!

PS. Yes, my topic being centered on one character might lead you to think my disclaimer was BS, but well thats my perception on why the show sells on the larger scale! 😃
