No sooner had Darcy written Eliza off as being a beauty, that he found himself being captivated by the intelligence and beauty of her fine sparkling eyes. He admired the way she spoke back to him, enjoyed the verbal sparring she afforded him, unlike the toadeaters he was accustomed to (like Caroline Bingley for example) and was intrigued by the easy playfulness of her manner. Even though he fought against it, even trying to convince himself that if not for the inferiority of her connections, he would be in danger of falling in love with her. From then on, even though he continued to be prejudiced, he proceeded to fall irrevocably in love with his "dearest, loveliest, Elizabeth". And of course, there was that infamous proposal which did his suit no good at all:-)) Okay, before I get carried away, let me get back to the topic, yes, the "Darcification of ASR", that is so quaint, I love it.
Well, ASR seems to be captivated by Khushi's sparkling eyes and intrigued by her standing upto him. And the Guptas all seem to resent ASR just like the Bennets (and most of the society of Hertfordshire) disliked Darcy. However Khushi has now witnessed his gallantry (no idea what she is thinking but we will find out today I guess) and since she will never expect ASR to be attracted to her, she could chalk it down to a gallant act. Anyway, there has to be more. Can't be smooth sailing and all that. Probably now Khushi will be antagonistic because of ASR throwing a couple of spokes into Pay-Ash's love-wheel. And no matter what he does or thinks, ASR, keeping his outer core intact will continue to soften as far as Khushi is concerned but will fight it tooth and nail. How it will all come to a head is anyone's guess. But I like the Darcification of ASR. Sorry, I have gone all off topic but the topic brought such sweet memories:-)))
To continue with dialogues I would love to hear:
"
There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others." and "
My courage always rises with every attempt to intimidate me." :-) Saatschi
