In Geet, when her dupatta would come off she would be ashamed and cover her neck and shoulders, and then the next moment we see her in a sleeveless blouse and a see through sari, and she is walking around like she is fully covered clearly her shoulder, neck, and stomach is visible but then it does not bother her.

On the second episode of IPKKND, khushi's hair was braided should her back but when arnav tore the pearls the immediately untied her hair to cover her back. I honestly do not see the purpose of that

I guess it is to show their good character but i do not see the logic of the inconsistency in the clothing logic to show this

🤣🤣 OMG you cracked me up.

I agree TM. They really get nervous and uncomfortable considering that their sharam has been taken away or something. At least, not putting fully, they should cover the chest. But they mostly use it till the neck. That sounds offspring too. And suddenly they get all uncomfortable when the duppata or saree falls.
I like Lavanya the actress who plays it. She is gorgeous and more gorgeous with the saree. <3

Hahahahaha great topic! Well as you know, a dupatta is part of salwar kameez..so when it is missing, ppl talk & go like OMG what has she been doing? How can she lose it & blah blah! since it completes the outfit, telly girls feel uncomfortable without it..makes them look indecent & stuff..So it just has to be there..hanging around the neck..no matter how thin it is lol

It is worn like a scarf around your neck ...by not only TV actresses (I think) but almost everyone (I have interacted with), below a certain age group...I am actually OK with that...I dont think Khushi needs to cover herself more than how she already is with her current stye of clothing... Sorry dear, I don't share your POV...

how the dupatta is worn is not the issue... the fact is that the way it is worn now it does not cover anything but the neck. But the heroines act as though they are exposing themselves when it is not around the neck that is what is perplexing...

The dupatta's just a handy prop for romantic moments & makes the girl appear desi & simple.
In terms of covering up properly then I dont think the dupattas are there for that so god knows why the girls get so embarrassed when it slips an inch out of place

Yup in Geet too it always used to bother me when she would act ashamed and then wear it around her neck 😉
Another funny thing is that the hero whether it is Maan or Arnav - they fall for the girl in her simple dress but whenever they are out with guy they are more fashionable than the normally "hep" crowd... Geet looked more fashionable than Sasha, Khushi looks better than LA, and as someone else commented equally exposed.. They are the CVs so it is their creative license... but in the end they are basically conveying the message that the lesser you wear the more attractive you look and if you are a simple person you are fair game for ridicule...

The hero gets to romance The Dupatta more than the girl...Most of the time, due to Newton's Law of Gravity The Dupatta as soon as it sees the hero goes towards the hero's face and caresses it. Some heroes even carry pieces of dupatta on their car mirrors, it is used in emergency accidents as First Aid...the list goes on and on...The Indian TV follows the simple business rule: Buy 1 heroine and get 1 Dupatta free...

Dupatta ki Jai ho👍🏼
Talking abt La's saree as I already said in some other post, it looked less like a saree more like a curtain from ASR's house...😉

This is so true and this has been used in abundance in Indian serials. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

I could never understand this dupatta logic when I was watching DMG on star one(basically my first hindi serial after a very long time), but now I have understood that this is the common technique for a hero and heroine to have a chat or share some close moments by chance. Well I do hope the creatives get some real incidents in to make the leads talk. After all when has anyone's dupatta flown and fallen on someone else in real life.

@Bold:- I am rolling on floor reading this comment especially remembering DMG days.

I still cant decide if The Dupatta can be considered a Positive character or a Negative character😆😆
