Advay Singh Raizada was rude, mannerless and odious. He was also alluring, had a mysterious aura around him and was impossible to comprehend. Chandni stood at the door of her room and looked on wistfully as he made himself comfortable in HER house and precisely in HER room.
"Why is he after me" was a question that popped up in her mind frequently nowadays and now the alarming alacrity with which he was familiarising himself with everything related to her left no doubt in her mind that he indeed had a motive and a hand behind everything that was seemingly happening inadvertently in her life. He was now the owner of Vashisth house, she reminded herself her heart plummeting at the very thought of this stranger owning this place which was nothing less than sacred for her. All of this could not be a coincidence. "Advay Singh Raizada" she whispered concentrating on the name with her narrowed eyes, looking down at the floor. She raked her brains trying to find any connection between him and her but she came up with a blank.."How does it feel"...she looked up only to find him standing so close to her she could see the golden flecks in in his honey orbs staring down at her with a frown.Chandni took back a step and stuttered as she always did when met with his imposing demeanor. " Wh what?""How does it feel to see a precious thing taken away from you" he asked againChandni looked around her room and some of her lost composure came back. She looked him straight in the eye and said " it hurt a lot at first, but I am not someone who is overtly attached to material things. After all it is your house now. You can choose to stay wherever you want. As for me I am happy moving in with my sisters."She saw something flicker in his eyes, something akin to disappointment as if this was not the answer he was looking for before his eyes became shuttered. He looked at her, shrugged and moved closer to her, a smirk adorning that handsome face " So you don't mind if this room resembles the room I stayed in before.. You do remember that place right? "She scrunched up her face as soon as that horrible memory came rushing back to her. Used teabags on the study table, empty packets of noodles carelessly tossed all around the floor, shirts unironed strewn over the bed, teacups, their rims tea stained as if begging to be cleaned..she wanted to howl!...was this going to be the state of her room in a few days??..Advay saw the rising panic in her eyes as her mind started drawing those images in her mind , graphic images of the room he had just described...he almost let out a laugh, but checked himself in time...he wasn't supposed to be enjoying her reactions, he was supposed to revel in her discomfort...his jaw tightened...he averted his eyes looking around mentally noting the changes since he and his family were driven out.Chandni was not going to let him win. She rearranged her face into a calm veneer and quipped " As I said your room, your choice."Advay cocked his head to his right, his brows raised and tilted his lips ever so slightly resembling a tiny smirk "is it so? Well...then there's no problem at all...its going to be a lot of fun staying here.." he said before moving past her and greeting here father who had come put of his room Chandni was surprised...was it a day of surprises!!! She thought...first she was apprised by her mother that Advay Singh Raizada had bought their house along with the adjoinder that it was her room he wanted to stay in...now her father who never ventured out of his room unless he was asked to perform a ritual in the house, had come out of his room of his own accord and the biggest surprise of all...she had seen this visual before too but it left her flummoxed nevertheless... Advay touched her father's feet for his blessings. Someone who was so western in his ways would always do that. This particular trait of him astonished her.. The deferential treatment that Advay unfailingly gave her father was extremely impressive and endearing too..she reluctantly agreed...and this further confused her and her opinion about him."How many more shades does this man have" chandni mused "I am going to find out all of your secrets Raizada" she vowed determinedly in her mind"You are never going to know the real me Chandni" he thought...itvwas as if he had heard her silent vowHe smiled at her father then turned to look at her " I have to go meet the other family members...we are a family now...what do you say" he scanned her face, searching for the sign of the wily vixen he knew her to be but all he saw were a pair of curious questioning eyes looking back at him asking things he would never give answers to.He braced himself preparing to go meet the other members of the Vashisth clan now residing at his place. He would wrench off the pretty masks that they all doned on giving the illusion of being the perfect family...it was just a matter of time...a few days...a contemptuous smile escaped him...they were not aware of the enfilade waiting for them to welcome them in the coming days promising them to incinerate them completely in its wake just as his mother had been burnt alive...he gritted his teeth...this was going to be difficult... The memories that tormented him day in and day out were only going to intensify with his stay here...but he would not succumb to his emotions...he had been given one opportunity to strike and he would strike hard...demolishing the facade that had commanded respect and admiration from the people of Allahabad for 16 long years..."Indrani Vashisth, start counting your days" was his last determined thought before he made his way to the hall where everyone was gathered to greet the newest addition to the palatial mansion...Hiii guys!!! This was something I had written looong time back during the time Advay had bought the house but somehow forgot about it totally...saw this buried in my laptop while searching for other docs.. Hope you enjoy this small pieceLove and hugsJuhi
this was just wonderful loved reading it
it focusses mainly in his thoughts and feelings
loved the way you brought out the various emotions
this had to be right at the start of the show
just after he had bought the house
but Yash coming out of his room was a special touch
him reminding her of the state of his previous room was so hilarious
poor her she controlled her disgust ad irritation some how
but its so clear that she's not giving him the expected reactions
both answering each other's thoughts was also unique
you are a genius Juhi
how can I not love it ?
