The Ring (chapter 4)
This was a bad idea he thought, how would she react on seeing him at her window? Why was he here in the first place he had just forgotten. At this moment he knew had made the most stupid decision of his life, he could have simply called her over the phone, fix a meeting and throw his queries on her face. What made him come here? Then he realised the factors that led to his stupidity. Firstly, her indifference towards his high handedness, secondly the subtle hint of hurt in her eyes during the rarest of times when they had eye contact that hurt which made him go weak on his knees. He knew she was not happy with this marriage but why do was she still going forward with it. Did she hope that her old Dev would eventually surface, it made him irritable to confront to his own self that at times he was jealous of the old Dev because she adored him. 'No' he had to clarify certain things, so he stood in front of her large window his eyes searching for her and as the delicate fingers pulled the curtain their eyes met.
For a moment Chandni thought she was dreaming, those dreadful eyes with pools of emotions most of them to complex to understand, when she opened her mouth to speak his large palms covered it.
'You can't be here?' She blurted.
'I know' he replied with his regular ease. He took her hand and started stroking her fingers, touching the engagement ring on her index fingers he smirked a little.
'Sorry, about the ring will get of your size', he said in his husky voice gently stroking her fingers to his lips. She was stupefied, never had they talked to each other for so long. In the short encounters they had he was mostly indifferent. Of course he had grabbed her towards him off guard in several occasions but they were normally to save her from small accidents. She tried snatching her fingers from his grasp but he grabbed her arms and pulled her hard towards him,
'Please let me go', she begged tearfully.
' Why did you agree to this marriage Chandni' He growled.
She struggled to free himself and his grasp tightened.
'Jiji are you there', there was a sharp knock on the door.
