Well, I am not watching DIB but I do know the story bcoz of SM and having friends who are watching the show and who discuss the episodes...Also I am not against leap or NM who is part of leap or I am not one of those fans who wish bad for the show DIB just bcoz Shivika are not part of it. Yes the way the whole thing played out that lead to the leap is definitely sad and things could have been handled in a better way. But Gul is Gul and she will do things in her own way and will try to justify things only as per current demand irrespective of whether they are facts or lies.
As every one says, IB never had any logic from day 1. ITV shows never had any logic per se...and mostly the tracks go on in the same round about fashion copied from English shows, Hindi movies, regional content etc etc...and I have never understood TRP audience so I wont even talk about TRPs...
But what I have seen from the past 2.5 years of Gul and HS is their unprofessional-ism in dealing with fans/audience... I know fans did cross the limits and bashed Gul and HS many times which was so so wrong and I did felt bad for them many times and I am no way saying what fans did is right but as professionals there is a way to handle these things with dignity and aplomb...clearly both of them lack these...
I work for an MNC for a product development team and I have been dealing with our customers for more than 5 years now... as a part of development team who create products, we are taught 2 things that are an absolute must for our product to be successful.
1) QUALITY
2) CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
If not for these 2 there is no way a product can be termed as successful.
I will quote a sentence by my manager to our team about our success as product developers/creators.
"Understand your customer and put their needs first.If they succeed, so will we."
Same goes with any product be it a TV show or a film or any content as its the same business model.
Gul and HS are creators of content and they do sell their content to audience who pay for the content and then get entertained...
Every one says this is how ITV works about the content that is being dished out to viewers across the channels and shows...so lets even forget about quality.
Well then the next thing important is customer satisfaction. If we consider TRPs as a way to measure customer satisfaction, then I have only one question to Gul/HS. They have time and again said that online fans contribute to nothing in terms of TRP and they are just a bunch of teenagers. So why has every track even before its judged by TRP audience has been modified/changed just because these small bunch of online fans made noise on SM ?
Is it that Gul/HS don't believe in their own content and their creative minds that their work will not be accepted just because some small bunch of online fans made a noise ?
Or do Gul/HS rely on online fans for the feedback to create/adjust content because of their inability to create content ?
Well, this aspect of Gul/HS is so confusing for me and I have failed to understand them even after 2.5 years. Fans are fans and they will demand all sorts of things. But as creators of content you need to know how to take in criticism and how to incorporate the same into the content which will be helpful in betterment of the episodes. Well I can see Gul/HS failed in all these aspects. Who do looks like fools here ? FANS / PH ?
Anyways...about trolling the show DIB, then, is this first time IB is ever being trolled both by makers and by fans ? Makers love to troll fans and vice-versa...and not to forget actors who have trolled fans number of times offscreen...I still remember HS posting the pic of all the 3 ladies of IB and captioned it "Groupbaaazi Zindabad" or some thing on those lines of Groupbaaazi...HS takes so much pride in Groupbaaazi and trolls fans about the same then she should also be sport to accept all the trolling when she dishes out subpar content. When ever makers trolled fans on IB's episodes, then fans need to see them as just fun and laugh about it and not take them seriously but when fans troll makers, then should't this also be taken in a lighter spirit and laughed off ?
@Rimi...where is your thread on Bermuda Triangle ? Thats the best thread about IB's creative content and how fans trolled all the content that Gul/PH dished out at fans in the name of creativity !
Gul did mock fans saying that they are small bunch of insignificant fans who neither gave her show the trp nor the online ratings and that leap is needed for the freshness and story to continue. Well then Gul should have given such a fresh content and a superb story in DIB with exceptional acting where fans had no chance to troll the show. But with the casting of the FL, she just gave the power to the fans to troll her. From what i have heard about her, forget about comparison to SC, that girl is not able to emote the basic things which is needed for a viewer to hold on to the TV screen.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If only Gul had the audacity to accept that they as creatives have failed in holding on the interests of TV audience with their writing and that they have nothing in store for Shivika or her super 6 characters instead of blaming online fans just because they opposed her decision, I would have applauded Gul for honesty!
But alas, not every one has the nerve to own to up to their mistakes openly and accept their failure and try to to learn from mistakes. Its easy to blame others and mock them but it takes a lot of self respect, retrospection and self musing to see in their own self before pointing fingers at fans.
