First the writer felt compelled to write Redux, we will not go there as it's done.Now, when they are in the alternate universe, do we have to be in the same setting i.e. Oberio Mansion. Ok lets ignore this too because our director with obvious AD tendencies can't focus on a project for too long and jumps to a new project so we have serious budget issues.But why do we have to repeat the scenes?Why does the writer insist on rebooting old scenes? Why is she compelling the audience to compare old Shivika with Shivika Redux? The TRP audience love drama and like novelty. So why couldn't Shivika talk about their parents in a different scenario? Yes, it's hard for these two to open up without a drink but then we are talking of HS who made SSO delusional because he had a pain killer. So she can come up with any scenario.What do you think?

Your questions are all quite valid. Why the reboot of old scenes? Cuz this whole redux rests on a feeling of deja vu...same characters, just in slightly different settings...so HS doesn't have to go out of her familiar zone much...lol
For me, a major weak point of this redux is the parental back stories...they've put in a very weak premise on that front and the reference to the parents is always abruptly done...whether it was in the first hospital scene where Shivaay suddenly threw out a taunt about mothers to Anika or it's today with needing the drunk scenes as a reason for Shivaay to talk about his parents.
This Shivaay in a sense functions on a more one dimensional plane than the original...he mainly only reacts about his sister or references to his childhood trauma regarding his parents...while original Shivaay's NKK issues provided many shades to work with, this one's are very straight forward and in some ways quite cliched issues as baggage...so I'm kinda resigned to the fact that this is all we're gonna get...NM performs it earnestly but the writing is too shoddy or too rushed to bond this Shivika over "dard" so this is how it's gonna go😆
I don't think HS cares about making them talk about their parents organically...lol right now it's mission build up for Shivika shaadi...that's all she's focused on😆
