*** Please discuss the tracks and storyline with all the potential that they had, and that is all. I am only pointing out what could have been and where I feel the writer kinda failed to give the story its course and before anyone doubts "I am a Shivvay fan" but it does not mean I do not see the potential in Om and Rudy***
We know from Pinky's and Shivvay's admittance, time and again, that Tej pulled the business back from the brink of bankruptcy.
Who was in charge of building the business from scratch Tej
Who was in charge of Kalyani Mills during that phase Tej and possibly Jhanvi
Who (in the first episode) admitted to doing the wrongs and not flinching when he did it Tej
Who are the sons of this notorious Tej? Omkara and Rudra
So by logic the targets of all the death attempts should be...? No prizes for guessing this
Shivvay is whose son? Sorry! ... No prizes for this either
Who has been the target of every attempt to kill an Oberoi? Nope! Not Tej's sons. Though Om and Rudy are heirs to his wealth and his sins
It is Shakti's son, frankly I cannot fathom why?
Why Shivvay was targeted by Mrs. K not Om or Rudy whose father, in fact, was in charge of Kaylani Mills during Mr.K's death. It should have also been one of them that she should have had the hatred towards if you look at it logically
But no matter. Mrs. K did that only because she intended to wipe them out clean and ruin them financially, so Shivvay was a good enough start as any but if Saumya was her daughter then why the hesitation of accepting Rudy as her husband?! It was not as though she intended to stay married if it was part of a plan?
Rudy, btw would have been easier to con into marriage and, as an heir to Tej's business, a smart girl would control that wealth because Om does not care about inheritance anyways and Rudy could not be bothered by that problem. Shivvay would have happily stepped back and given her control seeing that she is Rudy's wife and if she never revealed herself as an NB the game was won.
But as the mother of, supposedly, Tia and Saumya she could have achieved at least 1 out of 2 IF that was the real story initially. Just as she arm-twisted Tia she could have arm twisted Saumya to remain married to Rudy considering this daughter did not even have any prior commitments made.
This sudden change of Saumya into a Kapoor by the writer is not only laughable but preposterous. Just to justify her as turning grey she also turned Saumya into a shallow person which she is not.
Saumya's character would never stoop to what she has made her stoop to even for revenge. She would have used a better plan and would have hated for a deeper reason.
This Saumya is more petty than Svet.
Mrs. K never really hated Annika for who she was, only for what she was becoming to Shivvay as time went by. So her wanting Annika dead was again very simply justified. She just wanted Tia to marry and get the property.
With Saumya already married to Rudy she would have pushed her to keep it that way not let her have second thoughts
That would have been the RumYa track. Perfect right there. Control of Tej's stocks and money without the Svet drama unfolding with the Ice Box crap. A chess move by Saumya but as time passed her heart would have been drawn more and more towards the son of the man who had killed her father while her head would have tried to rule that heart.
Rudy's road to maturity when he would have to face supporting his Family, because that is what Shivvay demands as his older brother - complete Family loyalty, and supporting his wife who has been wronged and who he loves very much - which Om would have supported because he knows what his father is capable of.
This tension and tug-of-war between Om and Shivvay about the marriage would be about differences in what they viewed as right but would also have been about keeping the unity of the brothers alive.
Shivvay and Om are both very headstrong and principled individuals who love each other to death.
That would also have been a story of Om and him finding Gauri, possibly a female version of Shivvay under unavoidable circumstances, taking off from there.
Then a year later you would have seen Shivvay in a similar situation as Rudy because of Annika's past and that would have been the herald of Vanvas for him. That would have been a track to watch.
Shivvay was targeted by Roop and to be fair she actually targeted the other boys as well, not just him. In my opinion the only true Vamp who would have been someone to reckon with because she was the only one who hated all of them as one big unit, including Kalyani Dadi.
She is as cold and unemotional as Shivvay when it comes to what she wants. She will go to any lengths (sacrifice her husband) to destroy the family and he will go to any lengths (sacrifice his wife) to protect his family. The Oberoi curse and boon, both.
Her attempt to use Gayatri to kill Shivvay was because of the humiliation she faced at Pinky's cost and that was the only attempt on Shivvay's life that I felt was ever justified. I loved and enjoyed the Roop and Gayatri track because everything made sense even though you got the odd hide in the Dhol' crap as a scene.
Both women targeted more of the older Oberoi's than the younger ones and the younger ones were targeted only on the basis that they were heirs. Perfect sense.
Since Mrs. K's and Roop's exit and Gayatri's death there really has been no Vamp or Villain who has been justified for hating and wanting to destroy the Oberoi's as a whole. It has always been target Shivvay which most times I find very hard to digest.
Then there is a spree of Obsessive Psycho's and this is not counting Kali who genuinely had a reason to hate Om and covet Gauri. That was a good track till Om found out who she was as Chulbul' but never gave her the benefit of doubt. It would have taken a simple secret trip to Bareilly to investigate into the man for Om to at least have doubts about what may have happened. But the writer did not do that and that killed Om for me for a long time until he returned many months later.
Since then I have found the whole show with Vamps, Villains and Psycho's who really have no business even being there or who walk in with a burning vengeance in their heart (no pun intended here) and simply fizz out with their baggage in tow (wives that have piled on as another Mrs. Oberoi)
The recent resident doctor is one such mystery because I still am trying to figure out what his whole character and role is ..lol
