Chapter 2- She Loves Him, He Still Does Not
1 month later:
"Yes Mrs. Hazel.Oh you don't have to thank me, it was my pleasure. Sonika is always a treat to be with. " she spoke into the mobile as she entered the mansion. Saumya had been called over to her neighbour's place to see over her 10 year old daughter in her absence. She loved spending time with kids, it felt as though the worries of the world ended when she was with them.
"Saumya!" Anika called her a she caught her glimpse.
Saumya cheerfully joined her sister-in-laws who sat looking over something.
"See this!" Gauri said excitedly. Pointing to a collection of three dress pieces, of the same type but different shades.
"Wow Bhaabhi this is so beautiful!" She said as she caressed the piece of brilliantly designed cloth.
"Choose your favorite color."said Gauri.
"Bhaabhi you both choose, I am okay with any!" She said sweetly.
"Ye lo, iski bhi sui wahin atki hui hai! Gauri , Saumya, tum dono ek ek uthao, warna mere andar ki jethaani bahaar as jaayegi!" Anika said with an air of greater importance. Only to receive chukles in response.
"Bhaujaai! Aap se nahi yoga!" Gauri exclaimed amusingly, giving Saumya a hi-fi!
"Arre main tum dono ki jethaani hoon, !" Anika said grumpily like a kid. " Thoda toh " and she broke laughing as she saw the other two copying her.
Daadi smiled as she saw the three of them. The three were so different from her two daughter-in-laws.
"Anika!" Came Shivaay's voice as he entered.
"Kya hai?" She asked turning back.
"You packed the lunch today!?" He asked irritated.
Gauri and Saumya's eyes turned wide as they looked at each other. Giving each other knowing glances.
"What! Nahi toh!" Stretched Anika's voice.
And there began their tiff again. Saumya looked at them adorably. How her heart wished, she could get back to being like that way with Rudra! But ever since the marriage he clearly ignored her presence, merely addressed her in front of the family though he acted as though nothing was wrong. He had began working under Shivaay. Shivaay was quite amazed. Ever since the marriage Rudra was a changed man! Yes man!
"Bade Bhaiya, Rudra kahan hai?" She asked wondering why Rudra hadn't come with him.
"Oh he is gone to meet his friends! I thought you would be going too! " Shivaay spoke looking at her.
"Oh. Okay. Nahi I don't know them! " she said simply. He nodded quietly observing her.

"Gauri!" Omkara held his wife's hand as she was moving around the dinning table, pulling her close to the chair he sat on.
"Omkara Ji!" Her doe-shaped eyes widened, "everyone will be here any minute."
"One kiss!" He winked at her.
She took the jug in her hand above his head, "you don't want to have a second shower, do you?"
Omkara immediately left her. It had taken him half an hour after the shower to set his hair right! She giggled at his startled expression. "Shooo cute..!" She said going about arranging the table.
"Hehe very funny!" He rolled his eyes.
Saumya slowly entered, witnessing the bit. She cheerfully greeted them and sat.
Soon they were joined by the others for dinner.
"Saumya Rudra isn't back yet?" Asked Shivaay.
"Nahi, bade bhaiya!"
Anika-"Call kiya?"
"Nahi Bhaabhi. He dint call. Wo friends ke saath time kahan chala jaata hai pata ho nahi chalta hai toh..!" She tried covering up for him.
"Wait, usne tumhe message nahi kiya?" Intervened Omkara. "Idiot hai. He had messaged me saying he'll be late.!"
Saumya's face dropped, "Acha!" She tried smiling.
"Ruddy bhaiya bhi naa, jaruur xhidaane ke liye message nahi kiya hoga...
" Gauri ek dum sahi keh rahi hai, tum bhi, aane do Gary, tum usse bhaav mat dena!"
"Anika, itni si baat...matlab ..
" Bhaiya Bhaabhi, rehne dijiye naa!" Saumya spoke, "Its Rudra after all!" She giggled trying to lighten the atmosphere. While Gauri looked on, feeling bas for Saumya.

She stood by the window. She had thought slowly everything would slip into place once they were married. Perhaps Rudra would also realise he loves her no matter what. But things were worse than they were before the wedding.
She looked at the clock it was already ten past twelve. He wasn't home yet. She was getting tensed now. Where was he ?
Minutes later a drunk Rudra entered almost tripping at every step. "Rudra!" She exclaimed getting beside him in no time.
"O Sumo!" He said blinking, as she put her arm around him to support him.
"O noo...tum Sumo nahi ho ! " he shoved her away.
"Rudra! " she tried holding his hand but he pulled his hand away.
"Tum. Bahut . Buri.Ho . I hate you!" His voice slurred.
Tears welled up in her eyes at his words. "Rudra, let me help you!"
"No. I don't want you around me. Chali jaao naa...go away...I don't like you!"
"Itni nafrat?" She asked as a tear rolled down her cheek.
He nodded in a yes.
"Iss duniya mein sabse zyaada nafrat main tumse karta hoon!" He spoke.
One after the others lone droplets rolled down her cheeks. "Aur main sabse zyaada Pyaar!"
"You know Sumo, Tum...tum meri best friend thii. I trusted you. Main...tumhaare saamne rota bhi thaa, because I knew you...understood. You were always there. Tum itni buried kyun ban gayi?" He spoke under the effect of alcohol. His eyes were droopy as he looked at her.
How could she tell him, make him understand her heart's plight? She loved him too much to let him go, to let her love disappear into nowhere.
He slowly bent his head on her shoulder as the alcohol made him sleepy. She gently yet firmly placed her hand on his shoulder. She dragged him to the bed making him sleep. She struggled to get off his shoes and finally pulled the duvet over him. After changing quickly she slipped beside him. Wrapping her arms around his wide frame, she stared at his face.
"I Love you Rudra!" She whispered into his ears, wishing his heart was listening if not him.
