Gauri's POV-

I woke up in a dimly lit room, my head throbbed, my body ached and when I tried to move I felt the chains tied to my body rattle. I touched my hair just to find that it felt rough and dry like there was dry blood in it, my throat was scratchy and I knew shouting at this point was pointless

Kaali pulled his gun down and beckoned me forward, I hated how scared I was of him. Eventually arriving infront of him, he lifted his hand and smacked me across the face, my head flung to the side and I heard Omkara shout

"Step forward and ill shoot you" Kaali shouted
Omkara still stepped forward and I let out a scream as the bullet hit his stomach
I shouted his name and tried to get to him but all I could do was try and fight Kaali's hold on me.

All at once I felt a heavy object being hit on my head, my last thought Omkara and then I passed out in the devil's arms.

I heard rustling from the corner and froze, I felt my body still and my heart race. There was nowhere to run this time and I didnt want to anger Kaali. "Gauri"
I blinked, not believing the voice I heard, it was Omkara's voice calling my name
"Omkara"
Kaali stepped out of the shadows

Pressing the stop button on the tape recorder he smiled
"Wheres Omkara"
He stepped forward grabbing my hair, "If you want out of these chains then you wont say his name again"
I nodded sadly, all I could do is pray Omkara was safe and far away from Kaali and I

Even if only a short while, Omkara taught me a lot about happiness and the world and for that I would always be greatful.
But I wanted his safety more than anything else, and as long as he was alive I had no complaints anymore, its said you can live your whole life in just a few memorable moments and I would use the memories of Omkara to live my life.

I was relieved when the chains were removed from my ankles and I could stood up. Kaali looked at me, kissing my forehead he looked down at me "You have put me through a lot but its okay because the one person that was in our way now is not"

"What do you mean" my voice was thick with fear, I didnt want to hear what his next words would be
"Omkara is dead"

Gauri wasnt sure what had come over her but she couldnt control herself, jumping onto Kaali with a scream they fell to the floor. Lifting her hands she punched him in the face multiple times, "First my mother now Omkara, I hate you"
Kaali turned Gauri over so he was ontop of her and put his fingers around her throat

"You dont know what you're saying Gauri, you will never realise how much I love you, you will always be mine"
Gauri's face paled, she gasped for breath then pushed her hand down, grabbed his gun and kicked him off of her with her knees

Jumping up she pointed the gun "Move one inch and ill shoot, isnt that what you said to Omkara"
Gauri pulled the trigger and the bullet hit Kaali's knee, he shouted, groaned in pain and then rolled over
"You bitch"
"You're a murderer, give me one reason why I shouldnt finish this now"

Kaali's eyes widened, his body trembled "No, dont do it, dont"
Gauri threw the gun down angrily, it hit Kaali and she ran past him and out of the room
"Catch her" Kaali shouted

Gauri ran as fast as she could, through the corridor and outside, she looked back at the man behind her and jumped over the brick wall, running into the road, she jumped onto the back of an open top lorry, led down and closed her eyes, finally free but for how long

What was the point of living when there was no one to live for, she wiped her eyes, she couldnt think this way, Omkara and her mother would want her to be happy, so for them she would be happy.

Thanks for the PM..This POV is awesome. Kaali is a monster how I wish Gauri would have killed him! I felt Gauri's pain as she saw the bullet hit Om 😭 The poor girl.

Omkara jumped up, looking around he went to stand up when Shivaay and Rudra put their hands on his chest and pushed him back into the hospital bed
"Just sit back, you need to rest, you got shot" said Shivaay, he looked tired, like he hadn't slept
Rudra nodded his head in agreement "Its lucky we decided to come and visit you at that time or God only knows what would have happened"

Omkara shook his head "You dont understand, I need to go, I need to find Gauri or Kaali is going to kill her"
Shivaay and Rudra looked at eachother in confusion then back at Omkara "Gauri" they repeated
"Gauri is Kaali's wife"
"Kaali as in your role model"

Omkara made a face of disgust, "Not any more, he abuses Gauri and killed her mother, I got her to safety but he found us, shot me and took her away"
"We will kill him" Shivaay and Rudra said at the same time
"No, not until I know shes safe" he went to get up again but his brothers stopped him

"Come back to Oberoi mansion, please, we will help you find Gauri together"
Omkara nodded, but his eyes were teary

6 Months Later-

Omkara sat on the floor of his bedroom, he had decided to move into the outhouse to get space from his family, he loved them all very much but wanted to mourn for Gauri alone.
He held the newspaper in his hand and scrunched it up, it was the day after he got out of the hospital that he read the paper telling him Kaali's mansion had gone up in flames but neither Kaali or Gauri's body had been found.

The paper said the house was to burnt but he wanted to believe that Gauri was alive.
But he and his brothers had looked everywhere and couldnt find her.
He held her scarf to his face, the only thing he had of hers, her scent was hardly on it any more and it killed him, it was the only thing that would take away his nightmares, he had let Gauri down, she deserved so much happiness, yet couldnt have it

Shivaay and Rudra stood at Omkara's doorway, everynight was the same and something had to change, and quickly.

Shivaay and Rudra stood up in the cafe, a short girl with long dark brown hair wandered in and waved at them
"So I was really confused when you guys said you needed my help"
Shivaay huffed "Well, my brother Rudra said you seemed like the happiest woman that he had ever met and our other brother really needs that"

She shook her head "Look, I cant make him happy, the only reason I am like this is because I know its what is wanted of me, I realised the hard way that the only way you can be happy is for yourself"
"Please, we heard you're looking for a job, all we ask is you befriend our brother "

"No, I cant, that isnt right to play him like that" said the woman shaking her head
"60 thousand"
Her eyes widened, that was the kind of money people only dreamed of and she did need it, if she was going to make his dream come true.
"For how long"
"However long it takes" said Rudra

She nodded, "Okay, by the way my name is"
She paused, she didnt want to say her real name, no one around here knew her as Gauri anymore, "Gayatri"
Shivaay and Rudra introduced themselves and held out their hands
"Oh, one last thing "Om drinks, you must call him Om, not his full name, he hates it, and you may struggle to get him to see you, hes refused to look at a woman until he sees the one he wants to"

"Whats his full name" Gauri asked confused
"Omkara"
Gauri pulled back her chair, what horrible game was this, she had to befriend a man with the same name as her Omkara, she gulped but agreed.
Anything to make Omkara's dream of opening a gallery true

Gauri looked from the mansion to the smaller house, covered in vines, the garden outside it was full of rubbish and weeds, the house gave off a morbid feel.
Putting her hands together she prayed she would be able to bring light back into this man's life, like her Omkara had brought light back into her life

Her first job, to clean!

Just a note- Shivaay and Rudra will not have big roles in this story, purely because I want to focus on Gauri and Omkara's relationship.

Poor Om he is so heartbroken but he still has faith that she is alive!

Omkara's POV-

I looked down at my now clean room, the empty bottles of alcohol that was on the floor had now gone, my bed had been changed and made, my wardrobes and draws were close and my clothes had been put away.

I looked around for Gauri's scarf, where was it? Opening my wardrobes, I threw everything around, my head was spinning, had the cleaner thrown it out? I always said I didnt want a cleaner in my room, I looked under the duvet and when I still couldnt find it I fell to the floor in anger.

It was all I had left of Gauri, I had lost her, I couldnt lose this to. I lowered my head in complete desperation. Then I saw a yellow colour under my bed, it must have fallen when the cleaner cleaned my room, I grabbed it and held it to my chest, my heart beat finally slowing down.

I didnt care about the mess in my room, all I cared about was that in some way Gauri was still with me. Holding it to my nose I sniffed, furrowing my brows I was confused, how had the smell managed to get stronger, maybe it was my imagination.

Gauri was standing in Omkara's kitchen when she heard a bang from behind her and the light went out, she rested her hand on her chest, the stench of alcohol strong, Shivaay and Rudra had warned her that Om drunk a lot but wasn't dangerous, just hurt, yet she still had to remind herself that this wasnt Kaali.

Omkara had gotten used to walking around in the dark, so his eyesight had gotten better in it. Many times while drunk he had imagined Gauri, it was the only way he could reunite with her, but she had never looked so vivid, so realistic.

He slammed his drink down and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, he tugged her closer
Gauri stood anxiously, unable to move she held her hands down by her side
He stood back and cupped her face, her breathing was laboured, she couldnt see anything and although she wanted to run, she knew she had no chance getting to the door in time and she needed this job

He pressed a kiss to her forehead and closed his eyes, sniffing her hair, he didnt know what made her seem so lifelike this time around but he liked it. He had made sure to never look at another girl, he didnt want to take away the memory of Gauri in his head

Gauri raised her hands and shoved him away, he faltered back in shock
"Im not that kind of girl Om"
Omkara clenched his jaw in anger, grabbing her arm he turned her back around and pinned her to the side making her gasp
"You dont call me that, you call me Omkara"
Gauri was confused, she was told not to call him anything but Om
"I was told not to, I"

Whenever Gauri had spoke before she was always positive, never negative or trying to distance herself like this
"Who said not to, whats wrong"
He wasnt sure what he could have done to upsett a figment of his imagination
Gauri looked down
He tipped her chin "Gauri please"
Gauri's eyes widened, wondering how he knew her name

"My name is Gayatri, im the new cleaner please move away"
Omkara stood back, he felt as if a knife had been stabbed into his heart, how could he get close to someone who wasnt Gauri, how could he mistake her for Gauri
Everything about her was the same, her smell, her looks, but he knew they were shrouded in darkness and he had no way to know

He whispered an apology and stormed off leaving a quaking Gauri in his wake
