Omkara and Gauri had decided a day in would do them both some good, Gauri wasnt sure what she was feeling, but those moments in the tree had changed something, made her feel something different.
Omkara heaved a sigh, he needed to not feel this way about Gauri, for one she was someone else's wife. Secondly, she needed his support, not his attraction in this moment. It wouldnt be right to take advantage of her when she wad vulnerable.
He felt Gauri reach out for him, her hand resting on his shoulder he turned around slowly to face her. "I um, I saw you working out earlier and I was wondering if maybe you could teach me how to uh defend myself"
She seemed so innocent, so pure and a deep feeling of hatred for Kaali overcame him
"Okay, when I go to hit you, you need to put your hand up blocking me, then lift your leg and kick me"
Gauri's eyes widened "What if I hurt you"
"Well isnt that the point"
"Yes but I dont have to defend myself against you, you wont "
She paused as he stepped closer, she stepped back and her back hit the wall
"I wont what" his eyes searched hers, did she trust him?
"Hurt me" she whispered
"No, never, im so glad you know that"
Her eyes shut as he trailed the back of his hand across her cheek
All at once she lifted her leg and kicked him, making him groan and keel over
Gauri smiled "Always be ready for an attack"
Omkara forgot about his pain, the way her smile lit up her face, her eyes twinkling made his heart stop
He stood up, his hand reaching for her arm, twisting it, her back was against his chest
"Lift your leg, kick and push forward all at once"
So she did, he faltered back and she clapped
His hand wrapped around her throat, her eyes filling with fear "trust me Gauri, I wont hurt you"
She nodded
"Jump up and kick me or use your thumbs to dig into my wrist and then when I get closer elbow me"
So she dug her thumbs in and elbowed him in the neck making him choke
She ran to get him water and passed the glass to him
"Sorry"
He shook his head "Dont be"
Gauri patted his back as he coughed, sitting him down she sat infront of him
"When Kaali finds me, because he will, what do I do"
"Im here, I wont let him hurt you"
"He will destroy whatever is in his way, I dont want you to get hurt because of me"
"We spend our life looking for the light, without it, our life is shrouded with darkness, you understand, and my life was full of darkness until the day I met you, I wont let anyone take that away, especially not him"
Gauri's eyes filled with tears
Omkara pulled his chair closer, had what he said scared her?
"Look Gauri im sorry"
Gauri shook her head, wrapping her arms around him she held him tight
"No one has ever spoke about me like that"
Tipping up her chin he smiled "You deserve so much more than you have gotten, let me give you everything you deserve"
"We'll see about that" shouted Kaali
In his hand was a gun pointed at Omkara, his finger on the trigger
Without a second thought Gauri stood up, infront of Omkara, as his shield, protecting the only thing she had left she spread out her arms and closed her eyes
