Omkara and Gauri finally arrived at the house, Omkara pulled the car door open for her and she got out
"Omkara, I didnt bring any clothes"
Omkara bit back a laugh "Its okay, we will sort that out later"
Gauri nodded and followed Omkara inside

He scratched the back of his neck "So, theres only one bedroom, so you have the bed and ill take the couch"
Gauri raised her brow "Couch"?
"Like a sofa, that thing" Gauri's gaze followed where Omkara was pointing
"Oh no, its okay you have the bed"

He shook his head "No, you take the bed"
Gauri was confused again, where did he want her to take the bed?
Omkara laughed loudly, she hadn't realised she had said that out loud
Would he hit her now? Kaali always said how stupid she was

"You know Gauri, you're really funny, I mean you sleep in the bed, I will take the couch"
She opened her mouth to argue back but he shook his head
Gauri shivered
"Oh yeah, its cold in here, you probably feel it more than me as you're small"
"Maybe you're just really tall and im normal size" she muttered under her breath

Omkara tapped his chin "You might be right, ill start the fire"
Gauri traced the scar on her arm where Kaali had burnt her
"No, uh no fire please"
"Okay, then how will you keep warm"
"Uh, ill just grab a blanket"

Omkara pulled a shirt out of his suitcase, "here wear this"
Gauri took it nervously and walked into the bathroom to change
Omkara jumped on the spot, why was he so nervous?
It wasnt like he had never been around a woman before, it was just those women had never been Gauri

Gauri walked out, not long after and tugged the shirt down, one leg crossed over the other
She was beautiful, in an innocent way, but there was a hint of mystery about her that dragged him in
"Come, sit"
Gauri sat down on the sofa and pulled her legs up to ensure the blanket covered her fully

Gauri closed her eyes, leaning back she tried her hardest not to cry, she was angry at herself for not being able to save her mother
Omkara pulled her to him, his strong arms offering her a place of warmth and safety as she cried
"Its not your fault Gauri, you have to know that"

"She was all I had" she sobbed again, his shirt now wet and her fingers clenched tightly around his collar
He tipped her chin up "You have me now, okay and I promise, I will never leave you"
She nodded solemnly and rested her head on his chest, allowing sleep to take over
