Part 6-
Gauri's POV-
My mother had taught me many things, the most important thing was, if the thought of something makes my soul burn with passion, my eyes light up with delight and my heart clench, then it was something I wanted. I was fearful of course, that I wasnt worthy of friendship.
But Omkara had been good to me, and had helped me more than anyone else ever did. But I felt bad, he had an image of Kaali in his head that I had destroyed.
I watched as Omkara stood up, stretching.
He was a tall man, broad shoulders and he towered over me, it made me feel safe, like no harm could come to me if he was around.
"Good morning", his voice was husky with sleep, there was something endearing about Omkara, like a puzzle waiting to be fixed. "Did you sleep well" I asked, I blushed at the memory of falling asleep in his arms. "Yes, did you"
I smiled and passed him the coffee, "ill go make breakfast"
His warm hand wrapped around my wrist "Gauri, this isnt your job, you're not here to cook and clean for me, you're here as a guest, please just relax"
I was confused, all I had ever been good for was cleaning and cooking and even that at times wasn't good enough for my husband
"How can I earn my keep if you wont let me" I jumped when Omkara put his finger over my lips, "let me look after you, thats what i'm here for, I dont need you to do things for me"
"It isnt your job to look after me either"
"I want to, its about time someone did"
I watched as Omkara sipped on his coffee, he peered over the cup at me and winked. "Come on, theres something I want to show you"
He put down his cup, held my hand and pulled me outside.
"Have you ever climbed a tree" he asked, his eyes shining with joy and excitement
"Not since I was young"
He knelt down and tapped his knee "up you go"
I wasnt sure what the point was of this, but I stepped onto his knee and hauled myself up
He stood up, his hands on my hips sending jolts of electric through my body, he pushed me up more till I was stable and then climbed up himself. He pointed out past the leaves, I followed his gaze and sucked in a deep breath
The view was magical, enchanting and beautiful. Tall trees stood around an arch that was covered by vines entwined together, inside the arch was a beautiful waterfall. His breath against my neck sending shivers down my spine as he spoke "I always come here when I need to think"
I didnt realise when his arm had tucked around my waist, making me fall back into him. "Sometimes all you need is someone to make things less lonely"
My mouth was dry, he was to close, to distracting. "What are you trying to say" I asked
"Maybe you were all I was looking for, maybe I was all you were looking for, even if we didnt know it, we needed eachother"
I lifted my hand and rested it upon his.
Maybe, he was my someone and if I was lucky I would be his.
Hi! Im so sorry this is late! Ive been so ill and busy! Anyway, I hope you're all doing well!
