SAD KARA
I hardly see the middle Oberoi when it is not any festival or school vacation. He always stays with his naani in Pune. So, I visit Oberoi Mansion without any inhibitions when always-scowling-Singh-Oberoi is absent. But, today I heard enemy Oberoi has permanently set his camp in Oberoi Mansion.
"Naani has left us all Rudra messaged me before his one week absence at which time he with his mom was in Pune. I felt sorry for them, genuinely. But, soon when I realized it meant that one particular Oberoi will now shift to Oberoi Mansion, I couldn't help but cry silently. Now, I cannot spend as much time as I wish playing with Ruddy, tutored by bade bhaiya, cooking with Jhanvi aunty, learning make up with Pinky aunty, listening stories from Daadi or even playing chess with Shakti uncle. I will always end up meeting Sadu-Singh-Oberoi.
"I don't want to come to your house. You come to mine. I said to Ruddy on the phone one day when he wanted to work on algebra.
"But, if I come there then how will Shivay bhaiya teach us?
"I don't know. We can skype Shivay bhaiya or bring him with you. But, I cannot come there with your always-angry- bhaiyya present.
"Oh O bhaiyya!! said Ruddy with a thoughtful voice. "But, he is always locked up in his room since we came back from Pune. He misses Naani the most since we returned from Pune. He comes down only during meal time that too on Daadi;s insistence. He has not even started school yet.
I shouldn't have felt sympathetic hearing that about him, but I did. So, I went to Oberoi Mansion that day and to my utter disbelief I was hoping to meet Omkara.
When our tutoring by Shivay Bhaiya was over and my driver has dropped by to pick me up, I was walking in the corridor my eyes fixed on the room at the far end hoping that I will get a glimpse of him.
"Why are you here? he asked with disinterest etched on his bloodshot eyes. Has he been crying?
Why did I even go to his room, I didn't know. But seeing his sad face, I felt uncomfortable for reasons unknown.
I kept a huge bar of Diary milk Silk on his palm along with a note that read Chocolate drives away sadness' and dashed away from his sight.
