I just woke up to a response by Gul to a post asking for Annika's character to grow a spine, like we all want.. and her response was a rant about how Annika is incredible cos she's the first lead on indian tv to not take her husband's name! Really.. you can't argue with such shallow ambitions from delusional creatives. May as well bang our collective heads against a wall.

Shivaay very clearly said yesterday that he had to do all this cos the oberoi empire won't recover from the scandal if this video gets out! And ppl still find concern for Annika in there. And if there was some serious direct threat to her, it's ok that he's taken her into confidence now? After all the hurt and begging and pleading? I hated all of it yesterday, the crying, the vow reminders, the lame reasoning, her practically throwing herself at him after all this (supposed to be cute and hot and what not).

And yes, the actors seem to have lost connect with the characters, I'd be surprised if they hadn't.

Lol I was discussing this with pearl so thought I would respond before dozing off, though that fan didn't make a valid point as she was just whining and not proving her point but really first lead. Hahhaha in which world does this dillusional khan live. I don't have much indian tv watching experience but I can give one name - jodha never took her hubby's name or religion and she was in 15th century. Same with
Razia sultan who was 12th century. So unless we have been teleported to 11th century AD before these two women existed, I am not sure what this woman is talking about. I named historic tv characters, I am sure others can name more current ones but it's a mute point


Also her only response about Anika's character is she has not taken her husband's name, she doesn't wear a Dupatta 😆 - so if the creator is not ready to go beyond these superficial things what else can we say about Anika lol

PS: all the married people I know closely didn't change their last names due to sheer practicality lol. So Gul's constant comment on Anika ka last name just makes me rofl. Also even gauri didn't call herself gauri oberoi it's always gauri Kumari Sharma - oh but I forgot Anika was first in Gul's world which is nestled in 11th century - we have gone beyond time now 😉

Asya, this is a pattern.. Shivaay's love/ hatred for Anika, his declaration of his marriages / divorce to the media ...and the Ishqbaazi. He marries Anika , declares Tia as his wife , has hatred for Anika over the ONS... insults her . Once the truth is out, starts to feel for her , Tia is exposed.. his Ishqbaazi starts..declares Anika as his wife . wants to Re- do the marriage rituals again .. Pinky blackmails Anika.. she gets herself thrown out of he house.. Shivaay hates her , declares himself divorced from Anika . Ragini enters .. Shivika come face to face in the mosque, he is made to believe she is re marrying.. he declares his engagement to Ragini. Ragini is exposed , Pinky is exposed .. he declares he never divorced Anika..announces his upcoming grand wedding to Anika. now the real Ishqbaazi begins..billu becomes a cute puppy in love.. marriage happens and then the black mailer calls and threatens him to break his marriage.. he has no choice.. declares Tanya as his wife and mistreats Anika.
Anika knows his tadibaaz bagad billa loves her dearly , so she as his dutiful beloved wife joins him in his rescue family mission . After Tanya's exit.. Shivika will get back.. he will again address the media ,state he was faking it with Tanya for obvious reasons and Anika is his actual love and wife.
Shivika 's marriage will be consummated and they might be shown having kids .. and after some years some new vamp will appear and Shivaay will be made to do the same ..this is the pattern that cvs love to follow.
No choice here , just bear what they are serving .. simple

Seriously! I just can't wrap my head around the idea that that's the extent of her progressiveness! I haven't taken my husband's name.. come to think of it, none of my cousins have after marriage, neither have most of my friends. Not because we're feminazis, but simply cos there's no need. I have no clue about the married names of other tv show leads, But what this response from the producer has done, is to completely obliterate any expectations I had of a strong, independent female character from her. Which is good, realistic expectations have been set. 😊

Gul's response was epic. She forgot in showbiz the moment you publish ur work, the work doesn't only belongs to the writer/PH etc, it becomes a mass property to like, share, comment, praise, criticize, hate, abuse! People r only whining, cricketers make 0 score, people burn their statue, thank God egoistic Gul is not a cricketer 🤣 🤪 🤣

Annika cannot be compared to Draupadi coz what happened to Draupadi was at the hands of a husband who was self driven and not compelled by a blackmailer, as is the case with Shivaay.

As for Annika not respecting herself enough to stand up for her rights, it would seem that she doesn't feel humiliated or hurt because she has come to understand the depth of her husband's feelings for her enough to know that there is no way he could voluntarily treat her that way, that there must be a very good reason for him to be acting in that manner. When an action is merely play acting for the enemy, what's the necessity for hurt & humiliation.

She's actually more annoyed than hurt because her partner/teammate is again acting the martyr and leaving her out of the equation when it had been agreed they would face and resolve all problems together.

Defining Annika's reaction as lacking in self respect seems very unfair.

I understand where you coming from.. I might agree to certain extent but I still feel she should have shown upset over wife declaration if not anything.. whatever is the reason act or not. It's more about your dignity than anything else. I don't want to go over the reasons again as this post has already has many.
For the first time I am not able to connect to this track .. Shivika lost its intensity and clearly seems like even CVs are not interested ..they are one way helping us to get rid of this addiction called Shivika/Narbhi.. let's see how this track unfolds.
