RiKara: Connecting the Dots.

Hey people,
Last week's RiKara scenes have confused one and all. The progress we thought they made, the baby steps taken all lost. Or so many think. The analysis I posted on AT, a couple of them wanted to post it in MF. My logical brain tried to make sense of the sequence of scenes and I managed to connect the dots between them. So here it goes!

Now, we all know Gauri came to OM as Sirf Bahu to try and fix Shivika's problems. When Om wanted to 'talk', she effectively avoided it guarding her heart from the hurt.

If you go back and look at the mahasangam episode, and after the Mein tenu samjhavan sequence, his tears after she says 'sirf bahu' confirms it that he is very much affected by it. His 'main main...' isn't just his inability to express as an introvert anymore. Its also his fear that the 'Sirf Bahu' Gauri will leave if he does. Then comes the AniKara scene where he actually 'defends' his and Gauri's pairing to his beloved Bhabhi when she talks about them being different from each other. Then with Anika's advice, he goes and 'tries' to talk to Gauri and actually says 'Hum ek aur baar 'try' kar sakte hain', but the wifey took the advice of her bade bhaiyya and said something along the lines of him being 'too late'.

And if you look back, Gauri has never once acknowledged their marriage post her arrival as Sirf Bahu. Actually she did during the 'Dangal' and Hospital sequence, calling him 'Mere Pati' but he was either Unconscious or Drugged.

Then if you look at the scene where Dangal Dada calls them Pati Patni, 'both' of them became awkward. Both thinking, that the other would've felt awkward hearing it. đŸ„±

The dhaba scene was confusing but if you look at the post Dhaba scenes, the dhaba scene becomes clear. Daadi calls them 'Shiv Parvati' jaisi Jodi, he is softly smiling until he looks at her color drained face. He looks crestfallen that the 'Sirf Bahu' Gauri dint like the analogy. Then comes the part when she tells that 'Hum sirf hum hain aur Aap aap'! He repeats it and says 'Sirf Bahu'. And 'Tum mere samajh ke baahar ho' (This is the scene that gave Om's feelings away for me!)

Basically, he thinks even after going through so much together(Dangal, Jungle and Hospital) she is STILL in a 'Sirf Bahu' mode. And she thinks even after going through so much together, He isn't ready to acknowledge, even now.

Thats not to say Om's commitment phobia and emotional abandonment issues have gone completely. He still somewhere obviously fears becoming either Tej or Jhanvi in the relationship, dreading either one of them falling 'out' of love. These issues take a long time to go but this is not the prime issue for his lack of making a move anymore, I feel. There is also his own guilt of misunderstanding her, the knowledge of how his vitriolic words would have hurt her which played a role in him believing easily and effortlessly that she is content in being a 'Sirf Bahu'. He is right now at the point where he is willing to try to overcome his fears, give a chance to his relationship with gauri but he thinks that she has given up. He is just happy to have her around him in whatever way 'she' wants. If it's 'Sirf Bahu' , he would gladly have her around him as 'Sirf Bahu'. All his life. The ball has been in Gauri's court for a long time. And SHE thinks he can never acknowledge their relation ever so she is on the verge of giving it up if she has not already. (These two Exasperating but somewhat adorable people, I tell you!!)

He wants more but thinks she doesn't. And she hopes and dreams for more but fears he would never! Basically both want the same thing from the other, but assuming the other doesn't. đŸ„±

Om isn't someone to say 'Humari 'Jodi' sahi hai' , or Mrs.GOSO even, aise hi without thinking it out! The GOSO scene still perplexes me. Was it in the moment?? a slip of a tongue or was he gauging her reaction? 😕

Coming to the exhibition scene, he dint ask her to come because he knew the fake people there would mock her AND she WILL feel bad. He was protecting her from the humiliation he knew she will feel. The last exhibition too, it was shivaay who urged her to go! And had the media behaved like this, then, his reaction would have been the same. Om isn't break the mikes and slap the media persons kinda guy. Had he confronted media in any other way than he did, gauri's lack of education would have been highlighted more. The best thing to do is to take her away from that place and shut the media up in the rational way possible. Because Om accepts she is 'alag' but not 'kum' than others. And he is proud of the fact. Now he can't protect her from media forever. I agree. They are the mighty Oberois after all. Its upto Gauri who needs to shed her insecurities and not be intimidated by the 'higher' society and to Om to help her do that! (This part is for Sumita's purpose!) 😳

We badly badly need a monologue of both Om and Gauri. And a huge conversation between the two.

Lets see what explanation harneet comes up with! It's lil bit tiresome to always guessing the thoughts of these two characters! Some clarity on their thinking, especially Om's would be a huge relief to the whole fandom.

That's all for now. Pls drop in your two cents.

Cheers
Piyu

Wow such a nice post
They just need to talk ...no more secrets or taunts ...just talk it all out and their problems would be solved
The writer needs to give them a conversation than the eyelocks with random flashbacks

Priya you understand confusing Rikara more than cvs yaar 😆 Very nicely explained , every thing in detail .. They want to talk but don't as they think other one doesn't want to. Sigh as much as i love their confusion state and the story slowly moving , i want them to sort out their issues. Both of them are hurting each other this way by not communicating and stating their povs clearly .

Tell me about it! The fans go praise about how they don't need words to express, about how their eyes says it all so the writers rarely give them dialogues. đŸ˜†đŸ€ą

One honest conversation is all they need to sort half their problems out.

Mere toh Baal safed hone hain before they talk!! 😕😆

WE all understand them better than the writers tbh. 😆

Communication gap is actually a huge huge problem. It persists btwn real life couples too. 😕

Yes, I would like the awkwardness and the confusion after they talk. 😕Because even though they have unnamed feelings for each other, it's a long time before they realise it's love. Wish next week gives us something to cheer about. 😆
