A well written post. I agree with you to an extent but I have a slightly different take on some of the things you mentioned here. I also didn't follow all the touch or talk debate which some of you mentioned here but I think I get the gist.
I guess a lot of people were upset at the lack of intensity and passion in the chawl scenes and I do understand where people are coming from. Shivika were separated for whole three months and they were finally out of Dadi's curfew, so it's understandable why some of you may feel their time together at the chawl should have been more passion filled. But the way I see it, this was about the challenge and Shivaay experiencing and adapting to a whole new situation and just being content at having Annika by his side again and basking in that happiness. Besides, he was totally out of his comfort zone and trying to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings and experiencing Annika's life, so I didn't mind the lack of intensity or tadi on his part so much.
However, I do agree that a conversation between them is necessary. It's like an entire scene has gone missing and I also agree that the execution and editing has been terrible. LM is an experienced director and can take any scene to a whole different level just by adding some touches. So his absence was greatly felt.
As for Annika realizing she is no less than an NKK girl, well, doesn't she already know that? Annika has never personally considered herself inferior and although she was made to feel inferior many times by SSO and others in the past, their whole journey together has been about how NKK doesn't matter. So whatever doubts she may have had, the love and acceptance she got from Shivaay and the other Oberois, that has already planted it firmly in her head. And after the gazebo scene, where Shivaay declared in front of the world that NKK doesn't matter to him, another realization becomes redundant.
Seeing shades of SC and NM in Annika and Shivaay, was most likely a result of lack of script and direction. But I am not that surprised at having a filler track before the actual functions because and they can't start anything new at this point and I also think they are taking time to plan things ahead and they won't focus on anything else until the wedding is done. It does feel like things have become a bit stagnant but I think they are buying time and they also have to bring all the characters back to RM for the wedding.
Another reason I am not all that disappointed is because I was expecting worse and it all actually turned out to be better than I expected. I have learned to expect the worst and I may have actually turned out worse and I feel like we lucked out here. I think this track was necessary because Shivaay really had to experience Annika's life in order to understand her better. While it wasn't really well executed and lacked punch, it served its purpose in a rather acceptable way.
