Thank you for the post. I guess I'm not the only one who thinks this baby track was utter crap (no offense to the baby, she is cute).
So I asked my bestfriend to watch IB and give it a chance. She watched Monday's episode and she was like this is so much drama. She liked Annika, but she was like the Villain (Pinky) is so extra. And then I started explaing my friend that you gotta watch from the beginning because it's the growth of each character that is beautiful.
And that's when I realized that what got me attached to this show was its characters. Shivaay is my favorite because his character had shown immense growth from the first episode to the episode before the lapse. I like him because he's unpredictable and has many shades/layers. He can flip anytime. And that's what happen during the wedding track.Though his flip was so beast like, but we were still be to see why he did what he did. We didn't get his legit redemption, but his journey from forcing Annika to marry him to accepting her as wife to letting go of her NKK to finally proposing remarriage was incredible and I can't help but fall more in love with Shivaay.
I never really cared about the external drama as long as the characters were growing and in their element. Because to me the characters are important. With all the drama of Nayantara track, when everyone was busying thinking about the Pinky drama, my focus was soley on small things that Shivaay was doing for Annika whether it be hiding Nayantara from her fearing her reaction or calling her with a silent nod to join him for Maha arti. These small things showed his growth.
And that's why I think the baby track just messed everything up more. It is not the drama that made this track crap because common I have stick to this show through more crappier tracks like the kapoor sissters, Kamini-Daksh and Nayantara. But at least those tracks focused on some type of growth.
My reasons for not liking this baby drama:
1. The purpose of the track? Gain TRPs? That's it. They could have save this track for future. It would have make more sense to show this baby after the couples have cleared their misunderstandings. Like imagine 3 couples starting on a new note and the baby entry could have addressed their trust issues.
2. Inconsistent Shivaay. How can he say no to DNA test? Like isn't he the SEARCH Singh Oberio? What if the baby isn't an Oberio? They still can't keep the baby because it's illegal. Keeping logic aside, they are just showing Shivaay dumb to glorify Annika because not just the baby, he is also not doing any background check for Sidhhart who is apparently after his "Bestfriend's" life.
3. Hypocrite Omkara? I thought Om never lies. He certainly hide things, but never lies. Remember the Mallika track? He wasn't able to lie about Tia not coming to Party. Rudy had to Jump in because his Sach ka Boyfriend can't lie. But the same Omkara is lying without any hesitation. Small lies, but still lies are lies. Like saying to Rudy that he never said next. Or saying that Shivaay is sick. No fumbling, no hesitation. Agree that the character of Omkara changed a lot post spin off, but still this is suppose to be his main element.
4. Annika. I don't want to even get started with her character. Let's just not go there.
So basically the leap was suppose to show Annika's growth. Forget growth, all I can see is fall down of Shivaay and Annika. The writers are just hell bent on ruining the characters which of course they created with so much love (or at least they say they did) Sigh!
