Part Five

Omkara didn't leave her side for even a second as the ambulance came and they went to the hospital. He had clasped on her hand tightly with no intention of leaving her or letting her leave him.

He never thought this day would come when he will fall in love. He always gave his advice to shivaay but forgot them when it came to him. And this situation? Just when he realised that he loves her soo much, she is hurt and fighting life and death.

Right now he had both kinds of regrets. First, for the things he said to her and second, the things he should have told her but never did.

If he lost her now, he will be lost too and there was no coming back from it. As the ambulance reached the hospital omkara screamed for a doctor to attend gauri. Shivaay had already called the best doctors for gauri's treatment and he consoled his brother as she was taken to the operation theatre.

The time was moving very slow and all omkara could think about was unconscious gauri in his arms, covered in blood. He didn't realise he was crying until shivaay kept a comforting hand on his shoulder, sat by him and wiped his tears.

"om relax, gauri bilkul thik ho jaegi, kuch nahi hoga use, just get yourself together" shivaay said in order to reduce some of om's tension. "I know shivaay, I know. But I am scared shivaay. Maine kabhi uspar trust nahi kiya, wo kehti rahi ki uski koi galti nahi hai but main? Maine use humiliate kiya, use kaali Thakur ke paas chodh aaya. Aur vo ab bhi mujhe apna pati maanti hai. Kaise shivaay ? agar main uski jagah hota toh main apne aapki shaqal bhi nahi dekhna chahta" omkara told shivaay about what was worrying him.

It was unbelievable how after everything that happened, she still chose to stick by him. How can she be so nice to him when he anything but that to her.

Om prayed to god that she was alright. He didn't believe in god but gauri did and she always said "acche logon ke saath kabhi bura nahi hota" and she is a nice person, he hoped his prayers would come true.

An hour later the oberoi family was gathered in the hospital waiting for the doctor to come out from the operation theatre.

The doctor came out and shivaay and omkara enquired about gauri's condition.

"doctor gauri kaisi hai ab, she'll be fine right?" om asked wishing desperately that he would say yes.

"yes, she is out of danger now. And she is lucky the bullet passed her spine and didn't damage it else she would have been paralysed. She is under observation right now and will wake up in next 24 hours." The doctor informed them and left. Om fell to his knees and bent down and hugged him, happy that gauri will be alright.

Hours passed and oberois went home to change and bring some food for omkara, shivaay, rudra and anika. Om had told them to leave but they all insisted on staying. Gauri was shifted from the O.T. to another room. Om wanted her to wake up so that he could apologise to her for everything he did.

He sat beside her bed and called out to her "gauri"

Gauri could hear the beeping sounds but she couldn't remember where she was. she tried to open her eyes, move her hand but it was just darkness in front of her eyes. Then her focus shifted when she heard him calling her. She could feel him beside her, his hand holding hers, their finger entwined. She willed herself to open her eyes, move her finger, call him, anything.

And then after a few tries she managed to move her fingers and clasped his hand. Immediately she heard him calling for the doctor and then she heard a feminine voice "om? Kya hua?" it was anika bhaujaai, she realised.

"gauri ne apni fingers move ki" he informed anika, shivaay and the doctor who came.

Doctor asked her if she could hear him and asked her to open her eyes which surprisingly happened when she tried this time.

Her eyes opened slowly and adjusted to the lights. The first thing she saw was om's face.

The doctor checked her vitals and left. "kaisa lag raha hai tumhe?" anika asked softly "hum .. thik hain" she moved but stilled as her expression changed to one of being in pain. "don't move' om was by her side in an instant. She looked at him and tears flowed from her eyes. Omkara wiped them with his thumb and smiled at her for the first time. "shh.. ro mat. Sab thik hain" omkara told her but she was dazzled by his smile and didn't hear much of what he said.

Seeing them like this shivaay nudged anika and signed her to leave them alone. Without saying anything they disappeared from the room.

Omkara sat down on the chair beside her and held her hand between both of his. "gauri" he started but she stopped him by putting her free hand on his lips. He held her wrist and removed it, now holding both of her hands in his.

"I am sorry gauri, mujhe maaf kardo" he said with pleading eyes. "hum aapse naraz hi nahi hain omkara ji toh fir maafi kaisi" she replied getting teary eyed.

"tum itni acchi kyun ho gauri?" hearing this she smiled "aap bhi toh bahot acche hain."

" tum hamesha kehti rahi ki tumne kuch nahi kiya aur maine tumhari ek nahi suni. Tumne meri mom ki jaan kitni baar bachayi, meri jaan bachayi aur maine .." gauri interrupts him. "jo ho gaya so ho gaya, puraani baatein yaad karne se ka faida hoga? Zaruri yeh hai ki ab aap humse nafrat nahi karte. Nahi karte na?" she asked, her eyes glittering with unshed tears.

Omkara came close to her and leaned forward. He cradled her face in his palms and she could see what she had always wanted to see in his eyes for her. The gentleness and care with which he was looking at her melted her heart. "nahi mai bahot bada duffer tha jo tumse nafrat karta tha par ab nahi." He told her and to her heart's shock he kissed her forehead.

" aur tum? Tumne bhi toh kaha tha ki tum mujhse nafrat karti ho" he asked. Gauri smiled fondly at him because he was still leaning into her. She caressed his cheek and kept her palm there and said " hum toh apki bahot ijjat karte hain aur humne kabhi aapse nafrat nahi kari. Aapke saath chulbul banke rahe toh hume pata chala ki aap jaise hain vaise kyun hain. Hum toh bas aapki madad karna chahte the, aapke dard bantna chahte the."

Hearing this omkara's heart bloomed with an overwhelming feeling and he knew what it was. He had already realised that he loved her but couldn't he could fall more for her than he already did.

"aap ghar jaiye" she said to lighten the mood. "nahi main kahin nahi jaunga tumhe chodh kar" when omkara said this, her heartbeat increased and she blushed instantly because the machine was beeping loud and fast now.

Omkara laughed and kept laughing at her obvious embarrassment.

Hearing omkara laugh ShivAniRu came inside and saw that om was laughing whole heartedly and gauri resembled a tomato.

"arre waah chulbul bhabhi , aapne aise kya joke sunaya o ko ki vo haste hi jaa rahe hain , zara humein bhi toh batao." Rudra said as he went to om and side hugged him.

"kuch nahi rudy bhaiya, humne joke nahi sunaya, ye bas humari bebasi par hass rahe hain." Then she looked at shivaay and said "humne inse kaha ki yeh ghar chale jaye par sun nahi rahe hain humari baat. Aap hi kahiye na." shivaay looked at om who had stopped laughing and said "agar tumhari jagah anika hoti toh mai kahin nahi jata."

"par hum yahin hain na, jab aap aaenge toh bhi yahin honge" she told om and looked at anika " bhaujaai aap sab ghar jaiye aur araam kariye hum bhi toh so hi rahe honge" anika looked at ShivOm and said "om tum aur shivaay jao main rukti hu gauri ke paas" she suggested and rudra jumped and said "mai bhi. Jab mil baithenge 4 yaar, mai, meri bhabhiyaan aur mere jokes... toh mehfil mei hadiyon ki zarurat nahi hai, aap log jaa saqte hain." rudra dismissed them Anika and gauri laughed but gauri stopped short as she felt a wave of pain go through her.

Omkara was instantly with her, "main nahi jaunga, dekha na kitna dard hai tumhe abhi bhi"

"hum thik hain omkara ji, aap aur bade bhaiya jaiye aur araam karke aa jana, hum aapka intezaar karenge."

Reluctantly om agreed, also they had a matter to solve, kaali Thakur.

And so gauri enjoyed with anika and rudra, then om came with jhanvi, bua maa and dadi. They all fussed over her talked to her and then left in the late hours. Om stayed with her every night she was in the hospital and then after a few days she was discharged and came home.

As omkara and gauri entered the oberoi mansion, she saw that is was decorated with flowers and lights and the atmosphere was busy. Everyone welcomed her with warm smiles and hugs.

Then bua maa stood up and made an announcement.

"so ghar ki lakshmi has returned, but as kisi ne bhi gauri and omkie ki wedding nahi dekhi, we elders have decided that mere omkie shomkie aur meri bahu ki shaadi firse hogi, with all the rituals and functions, everything." Hearing this everyone clapped and om looked at gauri "bua maa ji iss sabki kya zarurat hai?" gauri asked "kaise zarurat nahi hai, ab toh everything is fine, aur sharmana kaisa? You both are already married. Bas changga mahurat dekh ke sabke saamne shadi karni hai, that's it. It'll be fun." And gauri blushed again. She looked up towards om and found him looking at her.

Before anything could happen bua ma pushed om away from her and came in between them.

"toh abse tum dono alag alag rahoge jab tak phere nahi ho jate" bua maa declared and om was shocked "what??"

Everyone laughed at his reaction thinking how difficult it is going to be to keep him away from her now.

He looked at gauri and she looked up shyly at him and there went his dil ka chain and he winked 😉 at her promising many things to come, happy moments to come.

That's how their life took a turn for good and gauri and omkara surely looked forward to meeting chup-chupke.

I know it was fast paced. I didn't want to continue it even after the track is finished in the show, so yeah.
