Ch-4

Here's the fourth chapter.Hope you all like it!Do tell me what you think.

It was 10pm and Shivaay still hadn't returned home.Annika was pacing the hall of their new house, muttering under her breath words like incorrigible' and beastly baggad billa'.She had called him multiple times over the past hour, but he hadn't picked up.Finally, she had decided to call his PA Mishra, who had informed her that Shivaay sir is in an important meeting with some foreign clients.I'll ask him to call you back whenever possible, ma'am.

But ofcourse, he hadn't called.Annika was frustrated beyond measure.It was so late at night, and she was all alone in the house, and her husband didn't care.Okay well, she wasn't entirely alone, since Khannaji was keeping guard, along with a few other trusted security personnel.But the point was that he wasn't here, and neither had he called to say he'd be late.In fact he hadn't even mentioned it when he called several times over the course of the day, just to ask if she was okay.

That had indeed been sweet though, Annika thought. He'd never call when we were in the Oberoi Mansion.Maybe this staying away for a while will improve our relationship too.

She was lost in Shivaay's thoughts with a smile on her lips, when the man himself walked in.

He was busy taking off his tie and coat, when he noticed that his wife was lost in a dreamy state, and hadn't even acknowledged his presence.

Fhat the wuck!What is she thinking about?Her husband is back home after the entire day and she's not even noticed?

Walking closer to where Annika was standing, Shivaay cleared his throat.It didn't work.He tried again, and when it didn't work the second time, he lost his patience.

"Annika!" he said loudly, while simultaneously grabbing her wrist and yanking her to him.

Annika gasped.She had been so lost in his dreams that she hadn't noticed his presence!

"Sh-shivay" She stuttered, uncomfortable at the sudden close proximity.Shivaay had one arm wrapped around her waist, while the other was still holding her wrist.

"When did you come?"

"Quite a while back, actually.I've been calling your name for so long!Where were you lost,huh?" He asked her angrily.

"Wherever, what is it to you?" Annika managed to free herself from his grasp and walked towards the kitchen.Shivaay followed behind her.

"What do you mean what is it to me?When I come back home after a tiring day, I'd like for my wife to atleast acknowledge me."

"And I'd want for my husband to let me know he'll be late, since I'm home all alone, but we don't always get what we want, Shivaay." Annika said. She was visibly upset.

Shivaay sighed.

"I'm sorry, okay?I was really busy.But I'd asked Khanna to make sure you were okay."

"Of course I'd be OKAY, Shivaay!But that's not the bloody point!"

Shivaay was shocked by his sudden outburst of his wife.

"I said I'm sorry,right?You don't have to make such a big deal about it.I'm a busy man, okay?I can't always vouch for when I'll be back.You know that very well.Infact, you never had a problem with it back in Oberoi Mansion!"

Annika turned around to face him from where she had been heating their dinner.

"You're right,it's my fault that I was worried about you.Back in Oberoi Mansion you'd always call atleast one member of the family to inform that you'd be late.But I should have known better than to think that you'd let ME know,too." With that, she stormed out of the kitchen and went to their bedroom.

"Annika,listen to me.Atleast have dinner!"Shivaay shouted after her, but to no avail.She had already slammed the bedroom door shut.

God,what's with this girl, he thought. Why is she acting like a...typical wife?I mean, she IS my wife, but she's never been like this before.Maybe it's just the exhaustion of the past few days taking its toll on her. Shrugging his shoulders, Shivaay filled a plate with dinner, and went towards their room.

Annika was sitting on the bed, breathing heavily.The outburst she had had in the kitchen had come as a surprise to her too. She hadn't been THAT angry at Shivaay, but his nonchalant attitude had irked her.She had waited for him the entire day, and he was least bothered by the fact.

"Aaargh," she cried out in frustration. "Look what this stupid baggad billa has done to me.He's made me into a typical wife!"

Taking a few deep breaths, she decided to calm herself down. She was acting childish, and this was not like her. She was a mature woman, who understood if her husband was busy and couldn't call her.

Assuring herself of this, she was about to go and apologize to Shivaay, when he walked in.

Standing by the door with a plate in his hands, still in his formal attire, he was sporting an apologetic look that made him look adorable.

"Um, I know you're angry, but atleast have dinner?We could fight all you want, after that."

Annika couldn't help but smile.Walking upto him, she took the plate from his hands, kept it on the table, and flung her arms around his waist.

Shivaay was taken by surprise, but his hands instinctively wrapped around her.

"I'm sorry", Annika mumbled against his chest. "I don't know what's wrong with me.I know you're busy, and I know you do care about me.I was just...missing you, I guess."

Shivaay smirked.

"Shhh, it's okay," he consoled her, while running a hand down her hair. "I should have called you to let you know.And don't worry, it's okay to miss your handsome husband.I mean, who wouldn't miss me-ouch!"

Hearing his words, Annika had pulled away, and lightly shoved at his chest.
"I've told you in the morning that I DO NOT find you handsome.So just deal with it."

With that, she flung her hair over shoulders, and turned away to set up their dinner.

"Oh trust me, my dear wife," Shivaay thought to himself while again following behind her, "I'll make you admit that you do find me handsome."

And Shivaay Singh Oberoi always did what he said.

This SS will most likely have only short chapters like this, since my main aim is to focus on Shivika's growing relationship without showing much drama.😊

I like the way you have portrayed Shivaay and Anika; the little yet significant steps that they are taking forward in this relationship, and, sorry if this sounds mean, but the very fact that they are away from the madness of the Oberoi Mansion for the time being is calming ... 😆
