My thoughts....

I've just briefly read the topics on this forum. I've not been here for some time (life responsibilities and all), and I have to say that I'm disappointed.. I've never understood TRPs and as a viewer based in the UK, I obviously cannot contribute to the popularity of a show. Nevertheless, my small contribution...

I started watching this show because I literally fell in love with the FAMILY and OBROS. Their moments made me laugh and then cry. The story managed to juggle all three brothers stories and still maintain that family feeling. The all because of these ridiculous TRP and popularity contest, the did a spin off. As a result, we don't get to see the main reason we'll all fell in love with this show.

What probably would have been a better solution would have been to do 1 hour show five days a week. Gul could have kept all three brothers in the show and treated their stories with the respect and consideration they deserve. Instead, we have Ishqbaaz which has lost all of its charm. It has stupid stories, unfinished business and Shivika overload (no offence). On the other hand we have DBO where the story was so stupid it made my ears and eyes bleed. Again, half the family was missing and there was no continuity.

In the trees for TRP, Gul has ruined her own magic. I am currently 3 weeks behind on all shows and only have a vague idea of what is going on. Sounds like rubbish. When I do catch up, I'll probably end up skipping the crap.

My suggestion for Gul, Cvs and the Ph:

1) scrap DBO.
2 combine it with ishqbaaz and create and one hour show, five times a week.
3) wrap up old stories
4) give the brothers decent stories, as equally as possible.

On a side note...all those Shivika vs Gaurika vs Rumya shippers...pipe the hell down. They all originated from the same show. And because of your whining and bitchiness, we are seeing the demise of this once lovely show.

I agree with you . Myself ain't indian viewer so i don't understand anything about Trp. In fact i didn't care about Trp before IB lol.

i'm in the same boat! I miss the original ishqbaaz and i absolutely HATE how they started DBO. I never see the three brothers anymore!! and the DBO storyline is so weak that I stopped watching the show ages ago :(

See, the thing is, I don't want to stop watching either show in the hope that things improve. It's gone from awesome show to mediocre TRP driven Drabble..

Combining both shows will bring back the original family and obro moments we all miss.

The scene where Shivaay goes to Rudra's room and breaks things... it is so not my Ishqbaaz... Had it been the Ishqbaaz that it started as, Shivaay would have gone to Om for counsel... Om on the other hand if fighting goons, going to baraily and all that.. and shivay has no role in it?

Some of dbo fans have gone on a different trip they are such thankless ones, they keep on snubbing shivika & ib, when we don't do it! Dbo track was weary I'm getting hopes seeing gauri all pretty again.
But If the shows get combined I'm not ready to take even bit of shit on shivika or anika as such!
Then, last week IB was particularly very good, haters can keep on hating whatever..
we wanted outdoor..
we wanted shivika..
we wanted nkk address..
we wanted pinky free..
we wanted shivaay to dig into anika's past...
we wanted light moments...
This all happened and if all this had to be our way then we should have been the ones writing the story...!!

Exactly! SP should have given a 1 hour slot to Ishqbaaz. In this way we could have seen Oberoi's brothers scenes and their individual love story in Ishqbaaz.
Though I like both IB and DBO, but Gul has messed up DBO's storyline.
DBO is spin-off of IB, so how comes SSO doesn't know anything about the things which are happening with Omkara, despite living in the same house and the vice versa.

So you want to say only brothers bring TRPs. So when did they give good TRPS? Genuine question because you are only talking about TRPs.

IB having low TRPS now can be because of various reason.

Lack of drama, experimentation with Mahi track, Pinky as villain, lack of promotion for long and IPL.

I am an Indian viewer and I don't want merger. I don't watch the 10:30 pm show.

And I have seen this whatever it is still now only Shivika is blamed.

I'm not sure if I get your meaning fully, but personally, I believe that IB popularity was because of those lighthearted family moments, brotherly bonding and even dadi bonding with her grandsons. This has all been lost in the hunt for TRP and in doing so, Gul has ruined her own show.

I can't believe that Shivaay and Om just do t seek each other's counsel anymore. So much has gone on in their lives and they just aren't involved with each other...this is not true to the essence of the story and their characters.

I also don't understand the fandom and their mentality. It's a damn show...I don't understand all the character bashing that went on. In a one hour slot, there is plenty of time for everything to get explored. I don't understand the rationale to separate the two shows. The family isn't involved in any of the shows properly. It doesn't make sense. So what's happened is that we have started off with a great show and ended up with one mediocre (IB) and one horrendous (DBO) show. The fans are getting all hyped up by seeing a small glimpse of their favourite actor...
