Exactly. How can he defend her and protect her if he does not know what he is up against. Besides, she is now THE OBEROI bahu of the heir apparent so if her past is dug up by the rivals or the media to make it juicy how would that make Annika feel when she sees it flashed on 'breaking news' one fine morning.
Till she was a lower middle class girl her struggle with her lack of background was fought with at that level. Now as his wife she will be one of the most sought after people for the media to get scoop on and write about. Shivvay has to ensure that he gets to the bottom of this before anyone else does. It was what she signed up for when she first announced that she was his wife. She has to understand the compromises and adjustments that come with it just as he has adjusted to her.

She could not grapple with the fact that Shivaay chose her over his NKK which was so imp to him. She was looking for the easy way out as that is what she was prepared for...
The minute Annika told everyone about her being an orphan she went on auto pilot as far as I saw.
She was emotionally distraught, kept looking at Shivvay for the signs of him feeling upset, generally broke down recounting things she has spoken about in the past with a calm and controlled voice and began adopting a defeatist attitude towards her whole situation. In short she had already decided to be judge, jury and hangman where he was concerned.

You are right about her looking for an easy way out and that is exactly what I said. She misinterpreted his conversation not because of what he said but because of what he so badly wanted to hear.
It was as though she could not digest the fact that he proved her wrong and that he came back to the room and still stood by his word that she was his wife.

As far as she knew and what she knew about Shivvay should have made him abandon her and end their relationship and marriage!!! How could he stand there so calmly and accept what she had said about her being an orphan!!??

So hence in her head there was a trick to this and he was only saying it to pacify her and pull the wool over her eyes. Shivvay choosing her over NKK was downright unbelievable and hence it must be a ploy on his part to hoodwink her.
I can see why she feels that way. It is because all her life people have mostly shunned her because of this fact and now here was 'The Shivvay Singh Oberoi' calmly walking back into their bedroom and reiterating firmly that she WAS still his wife

Asya...lovely post and excellent points. I am totally in agreement with everything you said. He wants simply to know...and there is nothing wrong with that at all. He has already chosen her, he has said it repeatedly that she is is wife, and nothing can change that...and he told his mother that as well. By going to Chanda's and bringing her back, his actions have proven it too...its not just words...its the reality...she is his wife...they will have arguments and both may get mad, but that needs to remain between the two of them in the house...she cannot leave him...he will not allow her to leave him...to leave what they have!!
Yes. She needs to understand that she needs to stay and not take flight at the slightest sign of him changing or questioning something about her. She is digging into Mahi's life and it's connection with Shivvay's but we don't see him fleeing the house in an angry huff!!!??
If he wants to find out about her she should not label it as him judging her on the basis of that. The man has already said she is his wife a dozen times over now and never abandons her to fight her battles alone. So she too needs to ask him - not question him grudgingly- why does he want to find out about her past. Fair is fair I feel.

As for not telling Annika that he is trying to find out her background...like I said before, he is not one to share with anyone...untill he absolutely has no choice. He may very well not find anything, and think of how disappointing that may be for Annika...and how hurt she would be once again.
I agree. To have her expectations and hopes dashed would make it worse. Like she had to live through that trauma all over again. Besides, I don't think he wants to risk her getting angry and walking out on him again ...lol
He knows how headstrong his wife can be.

After the way she broke down in his arms today, all that she shared with him about her struggles, and her fights with life, the world, people, God, and even within herself...he cannot and will not ever let her have to endure the same pain again.
True. It was absolutely beautiful to watch how quiet, attentive and supportive he was just by hugging her and being there mentally to listen to her.

If he can find information for her background, she will have some answers, and that will make her less vulnerable to people like his mom and the larger world, and most assuredly the media...and at the same time he will simply know her background as well. I don't think it will impact his love for her or his acceptance of her as his wife!! He simply cannot help that he loves her...even his MIND doesn't have that kind of control over his HEART!! 😃

I am so hoping for a continuation of the scene today. Me as well. I want to hear his explanation of his conversation with his Bro's that she apparently misunderstood.

there was a point when she told him that she knows his need for NKK are most zaroori for him, even more zaroori than her in his life...and I saw the pained expression he had on his face. He so wanted to tell her...you ar more zarrori for me than the air i breathe to live...I so want to hear these words!! And I think he will watch her sleep and definitely have some introspection tonight...perhaps recall all that he has done and said to her to cause her the pain that spoke to him about today! The more time he spends with his wife, the deeper he falls for her...to the point of no return!!
She may just get part of the declaration that she so wanted ...lol

Gouri...what happens if he can't find any information about Annika's past...does that mean he will never take his relationship forward, never have any children with her? Would he hurt her in that way...I don't think so. He know Annika's affinity for kids...her belief that every child should have the love of both parents...and how would he keep the happiness of becoming a mother from her...from the woman he is totally in love with??
