Everyone deserves their own treatment, tit for tat they call it. If someone throws s**t at others all the time, that person should be ready to accept s**t thrown at her as well...😆

And feminism calls for equal treatment for both sexes, which doesn't mean that s**tty women deserve respect just coz they are women...🤪 Respect the human being if he or she deserves it, gender be damned...

Personally, I don't take IB or any other serial that seriously. I find it both sad and amusing that this is the only kind of ML the writers know how to write. I don't know why they think being disillusioned, jaded, and angry equals douchey behavior towards women whether they be good or bad. Low expectations is the best option for these writers 😆 Hopefully we'll get some cute and fun scenes in middle of the usual TRP crapfest.

I think the perennial problem in our society is that we, including some of us who call ourselves "feminists", believe that women deserve a special treatment...Stop considering women as women and consider her as a human being...Do we discriminate our pet cats/dogs with respect to which gender they belong, no right? Then why should we discriminate humans?

RESPECT THE PERSON, NOT THE GENDER. 😊

@poemssyndrome - I can see that part of your argument that physical abuse is not the answer to anything, be it a man or a woman. But I don't think that applies when a person is a driven to the point where absolute rage consumes them and the attack becomes instinctual. I don't know if you saw the episode but Om twists the woman's hand when she places it on his shoulder and tells him that she is loving how his mother is suffering. The reaction is not right or wrong, it is fitting, the thing which needs to be done irrespective of it's rightness or wrongness. It's basic human instinct to react when you are harmed, be it physically or mentally.

I respectfully disagree, I feel Om is the kind of person who is not thinking but simply acting out of all the repressed emotions he has had for the woman who has destroyed his life and he is kinda wrong in expressing it in this manner that is unlike him no matter how much he claims he has changed but I love the analysis 👏👏👏

At least you see this the healthy way and not how Swetlana doesn't deserve this because she is a woman. Yes it is beneath him to have reacted so but it is also human instinct. I am not praising him because he acted so, but sometimes fitting amd deserving is not necessarily something that is right

Since everyone brought this up I am extremely sad about the kind of male leads we see on television and I am even more sad that Omkara will inevitably turn one of those. It is a fact that to turn cold does not mean that one can act shitty with women. Being an angry young man is now considered synonymous with being a male chauvinist pig, but the fact that the audience love these kinds of guys and actually prefer them over characters like the original Omkara speaks a lot.

But I do think the modern audience though a minority has began to look down upon such heroes too. Strangely enough, shrenu Parikh when she was asked what she likes best about Om said that she loves the old Omkara rather than the new one. Made me wish more people thought like that. Then the makers wouldn't have thought of turning Omkara into an angry young man, at least not for the love story

Let us just hope that this kind of treatment is only for people like Svetlana and not every female that comes in the way..

Point is man stays gentlemen and dignified when he presents himself in worst situation, here svetlana is bad but he stooped low by manhandling her,she being good or bad deserving will never be a point. She is plain bad but he has lost respect from viewers eyes.
You have a good point about 2 men fighting but they are equals and at the same time if it was anika woman handling then there will be no name calling, this is not about gender equality but about men exerting their physical power over women when they get helpless over situations.

I am guessing this is about a man exerting his physical power over the one woman who made his whole family and mom helpless and just quoted a bonus price as well.. someone is finally standing up here now for his mother against the woman who's the reason for his family's misery like the way he stands up against his father.. just an opinion 😊

Exactly respect the person, not the gender. I don't agree with violence period no matter the gender, no matter the reason.

Misogyny, insults and abusive behavior directed towards (women, men, and children) is the formula for TRP gold. This is what the writers think will get attention and unfortunately their not wrong based on some of the reactions you see on the internet and the fact the shows are still on-air. Whether its this serial or any other serial the writers lack of creativity is obvious 😆 Take what you like and leave the rest, I say.

Finally! Someone gets it! Yup that is why I said he in not a MCP. Because his reaction was out of rage! It was fitting as you said but it was wrong. And that is why it shouldn't be justified out of love for a specific character. What I mean is there are better ways to handle a situation than just plain straight abuse.
