OS: You have me...

"Om, samajne ki koshish karo." Shivaay was pleading Omkara to understand his situation over video call.

"Kya samjhoon, Shivaay? Aur kyun samjhoon?" Om argued.

Shivaay took a deep breath as he wiped his forehead to control his emotions, at the same time having an eye on the soup boiling in the stove.

"Yeh zaroori tha, Om" Shivaay spoke in a firm tone.

"Kyun?" Om countered. "Humne toh poocha bhi nahin ki humara shares kyun transfer kiya, toh iski kya kya zaroorat thi? Itna hi bharosa hai, humpe?" Om asked pointed to himself and Rudra standing beside him.

"Baat bharose ki nahin hai. Baat zaroorat ki hai." Shivaay explained patiently. "Yeh karna zaroori tha. Aur yehi sahi hai."

"Aur aapka kya, bhaiya?" Rudra asked sadly.

Shivaay switched off the gas. "Mera kya? Mere bhai mere saath hai, aur kya chahiye?" He said fondly.

Om gave a sad smile. "Humein bhi yehi chahiye, Shivaay." he said.

Shivaay bent his head and nodded. "Jaanta hoon. Lekin..." He looked at them in the screen. "Yeh zaroori hai." he repeated. "Aur dobara iske baare mein baat nahin karenge." He added hurriedly. He was tired of explaining his stance to Om for the past ten minutes. Before he asked for a reason, Shivaay ended the topic.

Om and Rudra looked at each other and shook their heads.

"Aur batao. Ghar mein sab kaise hai?" Shivaay asked.

Neither gave any answer. This bothered Shivaay. Shivaay was barely holding on to his control of emotions.

***

Annika was looking at Shivaay talking to his brothers. That was the reason, the soup made will be delicious. When OmRu did not answer to Shivaay's question, emotions choked in her throat. She knew that the family would definitely miss Shivaay. She did not want OmRu to witness Shivaay's breakdown, now that they were far away. She hurried inside the kitchen.

"Shivaay, breakfast ban gaya?" Annika asked as she entered. This brought back the three brothers from their trance.

"Huh?" Shivaay asked.

When she came near, she looked at him weirdly. "Breakfast toh ban gaya. Toh yahaan kyun khade hai, abhi bhi?" she asked.

"Woh main..." Shivaay pointed to his phone.

Annika peeped to look at his phone. "OmRu se baat kar rahe hai?" She asked with childish excitement. Shivaay shrugged his shoulders in acknowledgement. "Dijiye, mujhe baat karni hai. Aapka ho gaya, na?" Annika asked sweetly.

Shivaay rolled his eyes at her manners - firstly, she did not ask him if she could speak with OmRu, secondly, she did not ask him if his conversation was complete. But, just snatched the phone from him. And, he had no option but to give the phone to her.

Annika faced OmRu in the phone screen. She recognized the agony behind their calm looking faces. "Kaise ho?" she asked.

"Aapko nahin patha?" Om asked straight forward.

Annika took a deep breath and looked at Shivaay through the corner of her eyes. "Rudra, aaj ka taaza khabar suna tune?" she asked. She found Shivaay still giving disinterested looks.

"Kaisi khabar, bhabhi?" Rudra asked with a frown.

"Aaj Goa ke bazaar ko Shivaay Singh Oberoi ki charan padne ka mauka mila." Annika said. That caught Shivaay's attention.

"Matlab? Rudra asked.

"Arey, aaj sabzi khareedne ke liye, Shivaay Singh Oberoi khud bazaar gaye. Woh bhi pure coat-suit mein." Annika said. Om gave a amusing smile and Rudra smiled imagining it. She continued, "Kaun jaata hai bazaar coat-suit pehenke?!" Annika shook her head in a disapproving manner.

"Shivaay Singh Oberoi." Rudra answered. OmRu smiled. Shivaay understood she was pulling his legs. But she was not done yet.

"Aur suno." She continued. "Bazaar mein jaake organic sabzi maang rahe the, pata hai?" she narrated in a tone of disbelief. "Bechare sabzi wale ko samaj hi nahin aaya ki, ye kya maang rahe hai. Ye kyun nahin samaj rahe hai ki jo samaan supermarket mein milta hai, woh bazaar mein nahin milta."

Om Ru laughed at her comment. Shivaay had enough. "Main breakfast lagata hoon." He said and left the kitchen carrying the bowl of soup.

When Annika was sure, Shivaay has left the kitchen, she turned to see Om Ru controlling their laughter on the phone screen. She smiled at them. Om was the first to come out of the laughter. Annika spoke, "Kaise ho?" she asked carefully.

Rudra stopped laughing immediately and became sad again. "Bas, hain." Om replied.

"Ghar mein sab kaise hai?" she asked her next question.

After a pause, Rudra answered, "Sab aapko bahut miss kar rahe hai."

"Ek baat kahoon?" she asked. OmRu gave their attention to her. She continued, "Aapko pata hai na, agar aap log teek nahin hai, toh Shivaay yahaan chain se nahin reh payenge?"

Their silence answered her question. "Jaane ko zaroorat hi nahin thi." Om asked.

"Shayad. Lekin tumne socha kya. Agar Shivaay ne ye faisla liya hai toh uske peeche wajah toh hogi. Hai na?" Annika said.

"Phir bhi, zaroori nahin tha." Om argued.

"Shayad. Par, zaroori hua hoga." Annika explained. "Tum toh jaante ho na, Om, parivaar Shivaay ki pehchaan hai. Agar woh khud us parivaar ko chodke aane ka faisla liya hai, toh kuch toh wajah hogi. Maante ho ki nahin?"

"Lekin Shivaay kabhi batayega nahin." Om felt angry.

"Woh alag baat hai." Annika spoke carefully. "Mujhe lagta hai, Om, ki hume kuch waqt dena chahiye, Shivaay ko, taaki woh in sab problem ka hal nikhal sake."

"Aur ghar wapas aa sake." Rudra completed her already completed sentence.

Annika smiled. "Lekin tab tak, parivaar ko jodke rakhna tum donon ki zimmedari hai."

"Parivaar toh, Shivaay ke jaate hi toot gaya." Om said sadly.

"Shayad tum teek keh rahe ho. Lekin use bikarne mat dena. Tooti huyi cheezein jodi ja sakti hai, lekin bikre huye cheezein hai. Rishte bhi aise hi hote hai. Hai na, Om?" Annika completed.

Om nodded. "We miss you, bhabhi." Rudra said tearfully.

"Hum bhi, bahut." Annika smiled tearfully. After a second, she wiped her eyes and said, "Bahut ho gaya rona dhona. Hum toh aise ro rahe hai, jaise kabhi milenge hi nahin. Kitne, buddhu hai na hum log?!" Rudra also wiped his tears. Annika then followed with her instructions. "Tum logon ne khana kha liya?" When they did not answer. "Yeh kaisi baat huyi? Problem aa gaya toh bhook hadtaal shuru! Tum bhaiyon na, kabhi toh sudhar jao. Jaake khana khao. Aur dadi ka khayal rakhna. Samjhe?"

Now, the separation, though painful, seemed temporary than uncertain which they had thought earlier.

"Aap bhi apna khayal rakhiye." Om said. "Shivaay se baad mein baar karte hai."

They ended the call.

****

No wonder his inner mind always said that Annika was his ultimate strength, Shivaay thought as he stood at the entrance of the kitchen, when he had come back to call her for breakfast a little while ago. Shivaay knew he was good in actions. But never ever, he was able to make people understand what he thought. But Annika... she was his missing part of his life. He smiled relaxedly.

He walked towards and hugged her from back. Annika was taken aback for a second. When she saw Shivaay, she smiled at him.

"Ho gayi baat?" he asked. She nodded. "Breakfast karein?" he asked again. She nodded again. He pocketed his phone safely. When she started to walk to dining table, he stunned her by carrying her to the dining table.

She recovered in a fraction of second. She knew very well, these are the ways he showed his love and care for her. Till he returns back to where he belongs, she would make sure he had her around whenever he wanted.

Read this series long time ago and that too twice but sinceI wasn't an active member at the forum, I didn't commented.
But as you have bumped up this thread again, I am here to tell you that I really liked this series. All the characters were perfectly in their characters. Every shot was amazing in its own way.
