i love the love-hate theme and nauul n surbi's chemistry is out of this world--- the show has me hooked til these 2 things are there

makers have a theme or genre they are comfortable with so they continue it eg

- yash chopra--- romantic films

- mahesh bhat- erotic thriller

- rajshri- tradition n values n culture

i know we shouldn't mention other shows but since its related to gul im just gonna take that liberty (like others on this topic)

arnav was always angry with out a reason which made it so forced at times

khushi was just childish which i fould pathetic at times but she was a happy character

that show also had a family drama which later turned into a saas bahu saga which was the point i stopped watching

shivay is what he is which i love

anika is a confident woman which i admire n wish for it to continue-- she doesn't quietly listen then give big teary eyes--- she has her moment of emotional vunerability then bounces back

i love the family drama in this show--- oberois n anikas family have a great back drop

i personally enjoy the show ishqbaaaz so i willl continue to watch it

i thnk now is a very interesting stage--- my fav is the confusted frustrated stage--- so much potential to express the varying emotions going on inside them

i love the confrontational scenes--- so full of intensity, passion, anger, bitter sweet love

^^khushi's maturity is pretty underrated imo...those 4-5 episodes after arnav gets to know about her engagement and the jealousy leads to him being extremely nasty and petty...she gave back without raising her voice even once and in so dignified a manner...just because one is happy does not mean one is childish to the point of never being able to be mature...all of this is of course my opinion.

Valid point you raised.

But when it comes to TV, creators are often given certain boundaries I guess. TRP is really important after all. So they go for:

1. Tried and tested formula, because they work.

2. Take into account the audience that's watching these shows - while some of us might enjoy the example of business rivals falling in love that you mentioned, some might not. So, again, tried and tested formula is the safe way to go.

3. Audience need familiarity. They need to relate. If most of the characters are going to be rich, high-end people who fly arlund in helicopters, most are going have a tough time relating. And they lose interest.

Nevertheless, I do agree with what you said. Some of the repetition needs to be broken. We have a long way ahead of us (at least, I hope so) for this show, so let's wait and see ;)

But I have to give it to the writers for creating a character loke Anika. She is goals.

Umm ipk is being recycled .
This is what few ppl go on and on with all gul shows .
Gul and her team go on cloning same concept with different actors .

Tm ipk was not even original it was total lifted from geet show which was gul show too.
Arnav - kushi totally copied maan- geet.
dance sequence to romance ipk copied geet .
No big deal .
But here Anika is strongest than kushi there is no comparison and shivay is mix of Maan , Arnav and asad of gul shows .
Not only gul shows Ekta shows to being recycled for ages . .

remote is there to change the channel if u don't like IB stop with this ipk rant...

Had enough nonsense about ipk .

actors are really good but the characterization and story kinda look similar to other gk shows.

I agree with you about yesterday's episode being particularly reminiscent of IPK. That was all I could think about as well.

As regards the rich and less well off combination that Gul is particularly fond of, that is what is generally enjoyed by the viewing audience. It has that element of aspiration combined with being relatable which is what resounds with most people. The comfort of being able to identify with the character and also having that possibility of an unattainable, but still desirable, dream being realised.

In my eyes, there's not a single Indian TV shows which has ever given a unique storyline till now...
so yes all shows, not only Gul, but EKs, RSs and every damn indian shows are cliche and copy-paste type scenes, situations and so on...

what makes things different is the characters and the way the CVs gives and portrays their show.

I was a regular viewer of IPK, and only watched Geet, QH and other shows on and off...
i still say Shivika are different, IB is also different for me...
so no comparisons from my part
