Hi everyone!
Just thought I would make a quick post about the new promo, because I'm super excited about the new tracks š
First off, I'm assuming that these three tracks are going to be running at the same time which can be positive and negative at the same time. On the bright side, we get three exciting tracks to watch at the same time, which more or less guarantees higher TRPs as well.
However, if not executed correctly, I think that these well-thought out tracks are going to be rushed and/or chopped and changed. so none of them end up seeming remotely appealing. Hopefully, that's not the case!
Now, onto the actual tracks!
ShivIka | Rejection
My personal favourite, ShivIka, seem to have quite an intense storm coming.
From what we see in the promo, it looks like Shivaay has come to terms with his attraction/love for Annika and is finally pursuing her, only to get rejected by her. Now, I think that the rejection in the promo [with the flowers and all] may not happen, but rather, represents the whole situation that these two will be put into. I'm hoping that we see a pining and desperate Shivaay in this track [who knows, we even might get the long-awaited ShivKara conversation on love as well!] and a romantically confused Annika, who doesn't know where she stands in her relationship with Shivaay. However, I feel like this track might just be yet another build-up towards quite an uneventful resolution for now because Gul Khan, herself, said that there is no ShivIka love confession anywhere in the near future. I genuinely think that the proposal is going to be a dream sequence, and even if it is real, I have a niggling feeling that Shivaay may be doing it to protect Annika from the murder investigation or something like that. I really don't think that SSO has such a big emotional epiphany that he's just going to propose to her just like that, forgetting his life-long moral compass and values.
Meanwhile, I'm quite excited to see Annika's emotional turmoil as well. If rejection is the undergoing theme of this track, I really want to know Annika's reasons for it. Is it simply because she doesn't love him yet? Is she confused? Does she feel like this pursuit is fruitless, because Shivaay is inevitably going to get married to Tia? Is she still hurt about his lashing out at her? Or does she decide that the line between the classes is just too deep to bother crossing?
Whatever her reasons are, I really want to see them. Except, I want her to stay strong in the face of Shivaay and his emotions. Even if she herself is being torn apart by their relationship, I want her to be empowered for once [and with something slightly more distinctive than a bucket of water] and instead, watch Shivaay's recesses break in the wake of her rejection.
I think Nakuul and Surbhi are both brilliant actors, so I hope that they do this whole situation justice! If done to it's full potential, this turn in their story has the potential to be beautiful.
This track seems to be quite bittersweet, and I foresee both angst to fire up the audience, and romance to calm us all down again š
RumYa | Involuntary
Our youngest, RuMya, are going to be hilarious to watch in the aftermath of their apparent marriage. So, according to the promo, they wake up one morning and they're married? To be honest, I actually think Romi pulls some shady shit to get them married [what with her seriously thinking that she's a god and all] and thus, trouble ensues.
I'm actually looking so forward to see what this new situation does to their relationship. I always thought that they would have the friendship - turned - love type of thing going, so I wonder if this new track is going to make or break this vision! However, I have a feeling that they're just going to be under the impression that they're married when it's just a misunderstanding/set-up. I hope not though, I really want them to actually get married! I assume that they could just get an annulment and be over with it, but I maintain that a karva chauth scene between them would be the absolute cutest!
Imagine if Daadi and Om found out, and they made them stay married because that's how fate wants it or something š
This track is predictably going to be the funniest, with a hell of a lot of cuteness and romance blooming!
Omkara | Undoing
Coming onto Omkara's coming track, I'm exceptionally glad that the CV's have written this story for him.
I think that Omkara's character is finally getting the insight that we were promised, and so I hope that Kunal's potential is finally seen in this track as well!
From the promo, it seems that Om is drunk and has gotten himself into a road accident. His line, 'Yeh Maine Kya Kar Diya?" tells us that he has most probably hit someone, or worse, killed them.
I'm the same personality type [MBTI, I encourage you all to do it if you haven't yet!] and so I relate to him immensely. If I was put into that situation, the guilt that I would feel would be absolutely heart-wrenching and I expect the same from Omkara's character. In fact, I think his guilt will be so intense, that it will lead into his unravelling, and we will finally get to know about his past.
I applaud the CVs for going into this direction with Om's character, because as viewers, we get to experience Om's moral righteousness and his idealistic views finally being destroyed, and his reaction to that. I think it was quite necessary for Om to be knocked off his high-horse, just so he remains a realistic character. If I'm right, the audience will love him even more with his flaws.
