Part three
Shivaay stared up at the great mansion before him. This matched his power. Class. Money. The Iranis were the best, well after the Oberois of course. A security guard at the door pushed a button which allowed the gates to open wide. Shivaay, shoving his sunglasses on nodded at him and drove through.
Annika had showered and, dutifully had the medicine after the withering glare her mom had given her when she'd hesitated. Her hair had been dried and combed by her loving grandma, Radha Irani. She'd only really gone to maa (that's what she called her grandma) to escape from her moms lectures and also being the only granddaughter had its benefits. Maa let no one scold her.
"Kaka". The old housekeeper stopped to smile. He'd been in the family even before she was born and she loved him dearly.
"Where's papa"
"Vo... Beta ha library mein hoga"
"Thanks".
Upon entering the library and not finding him there, Annika slumped down on the big, comfortable chair. Looking at the time it was 3:30. She waited as she had to talk to dad about some new client and their files. Whilst waiting Annika shoved her face more comfortably in the chair and her eyes began drifting shut.
Shivaay, meanwhile had entered the mansion. He subconsciously smiled when he saw three kids running around laughing and giggling, with water balloons in their hands. A woman dressed in white, came to an abrupt stop near them shaking her head.
"Sahil".
"Adi".
"Danny". The three names were called out in a firm voice.
The kids abruptly stopped,their faces wiped off laughter suddenly looking very innocent.
"Vo, mumma, the boy with curly brown hair started.
"Kids, i said na no water in the house and i meant it, go play outside and yh take this basket of balloons with you". She handed them the basket.
They smiled.
"If I see you guys in the house again with balloons, I'm gonna tickle you all till your stomach aches".
She got cheeky smiles in return.
"Don't even think about it". She said with a smile.
"Go now".
They rushed outside, screaming "i love you", as they stormed past him.
"Arre, I didn't even notice you".
Shivaay turned around after watchinone of the kids get pelted with a balloon to stare into warm brown eyes. He smiled.
"Shivaay singh Oberoi, my meeting with Abhay Irani was rescheduled at his house."
"Oh, yh thats due to us".
Seeing his eyebrows jerk in surprise, she continued...
"There's a function today and we need the men to help and most importantly the entire family to be together and contribute towards it, now they can't do that from office, so we cajoled bhai sa to stay home".
"Bhai sa". Shivaay asked confused.
"Abhay bhai sa".
"Wait,I'll get kaka to call him".
Shivaay stood in place as she went to call kaka.
"Why are you still there for, come on in think of it as your own house". The woman urged.
Just then a man walked down the long languid staircase.
"Mr Irani". Shivaay smiled upon meeting mr Irani and shook his hand firmly.
Abhay smiled.
"Im sorry about the reschedule, Mr Oberoi there's a family function tonight and apparently the ladies have decided we can't go office today. Family, i tell you. Have to give in eventually".
"Come, sit".
"You're talking as if we gagged you and forced you to stay home". The same woman was back with coffee and snacks.
"You might as well have arthi". Abhay smiled teasingly.
"Your office isn't going to go down in flames if you don't go for one day bhai sa". She retorted.
"Anyways this is the last meeting, after that you're gonna help".
"Got it, Mr shivaay let's go into the library before my little sister in law doesn't allow me to complete this meeting".
They walked to the library, discussing quotes and blueprints. Shivaay pushed open the door, stopping mid sentence at the sight before him.
That girl, the crazy gobbar throwing girl was fast asleep snuggled into a chair.
Mr Irani coming in stopped as well. He smiled.
"She's gone to sleep". And then, as Shivaay watched in pure astonishment, got a blanket put it over her sleeping frame, and stopped by the huge oak fireplace to lighten up the flaming heat.
"Lets go to the swimming pool area". He slid open the patio doors to the swimming pool, which still gave a clear view of the library and that girl, no it wasn't his imagination, she was still there, still sleeping and Mr Irani had put a blanket over her like... Like he loved and cared for her.
How can he know a middle class girl so well.
"You know her, Mr Irani".
"Know who". Abhay asked confused.
'Her", looking over to where shivaay was looking, He nodded.
"Of course, i know her, she's my daughter.
Shivaay jerked as if he'd just been poked hard. He stared dumbfounded at Mr Irani.
