Part Two
Huge black metal doors opened automatically as Annika rang the bell, she trudged through the beautiful garden, heading for the back door that would lead to the swimming pool, and her bedroom. She walked past the security guard who paused.
"Arre Annika beta, tume itni gili ho, kaise huwa". Annika closed her eyes. "Vo uncle mein... Woh swimming pool mein gir gi thi, thats why".
"Go quickly and get changed then beta, your mom has came by twice to ask me whether or not you've returned. Agar usse gussa..."
"Ha uncle, I'm going".
She quickly started climbing the stairs, if mom saw her like this, she'll kill her.
"Annika. A firm voice clouded in anger called out. Annika gulped, wincing. Ab tho gi kamse. She turned to see her mom, dressed in a simple designer peach dress.
"Where were you, I've been ringing you non stop for the last half hour but god forbid you answer the damn phone".
Mom kuch zaada he gussa mein hai, where's papa. Annika inwardly groaned. "Vo mein- " haye babaji, why are you so wet". The sudden cry had Annika looking at her wet clothes. Her mum strode across the room in a hurry, the white duppatta that had been hanging over her shoulders in her hands, and frantically started rubbing the soft cloth over her face and hair. "Seriously, you know nah, you even get slightly wet, your coughing starts and you get a fever. "So what's this". "Kitni baar bola hai tujhe annika take care of yourself, but tume sunti kab ho". "Haye babaji, kya hoga tumhara".
"Mom". "Mom. Im fine." Annika said shaking her head. That's why she wanted to avoid seeing her mom before she got into dry clothes. Her mom was a worry pot.
"Fine". Her mom shrieked. "Fine". From which sane angle do you look fine". " vaise how did this happen."

The name immediately settled in her mind, her mind tumbling back to how she'd actually fallen in the pool. After being humiliated by the Oberoi family, she'd got outta of there in a hurry dropping her wardrobe locker keys in their hallway. Priyanka, having found them called her. She'd gone to retrieve them, getting lost in the house. Add to those problems, the lights had gone off. She'd tumbled to the swimming area, when a voice had called out and she turned colliding with a hard chest, who'd immediately grabbed her waist to pull her close to him, she could still almost feel the air of his warm breath on her face. Then the baagir bila let go of her, causing her fall in the pool. The only satisfaction she had was that she'd pulled him alongside with her.
"Annika, I'm talking to you."
"Vo mein swimming pool mein gir gi thi".
Seeing an incredulous look on her mums face and knowing another lecture and interrogation was coming she immediately said.." Mum you don't care about me at all, look how wet i am, aur aap.. Annika shakes her head... Baashan dere rahi hai. Seriously mom. No care".
"Besharam kayki,meri tho jaan jaarahi hai and you".
"Ouch". Annika mock winced at the light slap. "Go upstairs and get changed. Im gonna send medicine, seeing the disgusted look on Annikas face she glared. Hard.
"You're gonna drink it Annika". She said firmly.
"Mom... It tastes like.. Like gobbar. She said revoltingly.
"I couldn't give a damn what it tastes like, who came back wet?. You did. Who will get a cough? You will. So you better drink it varne...
"Varne". Annika said cautiously.
"I'll make kava, that's what". She said threateningly.
"I'll drink it". Annika Said giving up. Nobody could win against her mom.
"Go now."
Annika walked up the stairs.
At the same time, two cars stopped at the gate.
