Author's POV

After sending Vansh the message, Riddhima went to get ready for the Gurudwara. At the Gurudwara, Riddhima prayed to god that her parents don't find out about her confession. She also prayed to God that Vansh starts liking her soon. Riddhima has full faith in God and she believes that God will fulfill her wishes. An hour later, Riddhima and her family go back to their house. After they reach home, Riddhima decides to check her Instagram in order to see if Vansh replied. Vansh didn't reply, but he also didn't block her. Riddhima decides to message Vansh again. Unable to control herself, Riddhima ends up sending him too many messages. She sends him the following messages:

"Vansh, why are doing this to me?"

"Can you please reply?"

"At least tell me if you want to unblock me or not?"

"Look, I'm sorry for what I did. I know I shouldn't have sent that message to you."

"I'm regretting the message I sent."

"Please reply."

"I'm scared right now. I don't want my parents to find out about what I did."

"Please don't tell anyone about this."

"Vansh, I'm sorry again."

"Please unblock me."

Riddhima then decides to call Sejal. After a few rings, Sejal picks up Riddhima's call.

Riddhima - "Hello Sejal"

Sejal - "Hi Riddhima. So did Vansh reply?"

Riddhima - "No. He didn't reply yet and as a result, I spammed the chat. I couldn't control myself. Idk why Vansh is doing this. He's acting like he's a celebrity. Can't he just reply with a yes or no? He seems so arrogant."

Sejal - "Riddhima calm down. And I feel like he's not replying bc he probably has a girlfriend or something. I know he doesn't have any pics on his Instagram that show that he has a girlfriend, but he honestly does seem like the type of guy who has a girlfriend."

Riddhima - "Yeah Sejal. You're right. He probably has a secret girlfriend or something. Anyways Sejal, I'll talk to you later."

Three Hours Later

After finishing her homework, Riddhima decides to check on her main account if Vansh unblocked her. Riddhima jumped in joy when she say that she was unblocked by Vansh. Her happiness can't even be described in words. She was very happy. Riddhima immediately went to her alternate account and texted Vansh: "OMG. Thank you so much for unblocking me. I can't even describe how happy I am. Thank you for forgiving me."

Riddhima's POV

I can't even describe how happy I was after I found out that Vansh unblocked me. I thought he had forgiven me. But, I was wrong. After I sent him the message, I decided to follow him again on my main account and to my surprise he declined my request after an hour. All of my happiness went away, so I decided to not text him until he reaches out.

Two Weeks Later

Due to the stress, I have high fever. As a result, I didn't go to school this week. I didn't reach out to Vansh again since I know he's not interested in talking to me. This was a tough week for me because I couldn't stop thinking about Vansh. Whenever I take a nap, I always dream about Vansh. This has never happened to me before. I've liked so many boys in the past. But, Vansh is different. I feel like we both are meant to be. My shrill ringtone broke my chain of thoughts. I picked up my phone from the nightstand to see who was calling. It was Sejal. I quickly picked up her call.

Riddhima (low voice) - "Hi Sejal, how are you."

Sejal - "I'm good Riddhima. Your voice sounds so different bc of the fever. I hope you get well soon. And I'm missing you so much in school."

Riddhima - "I miss you too Sejal. This fever is so annoying. I hate staying at home."

Sejal - "Take a lot of rest so you can recover soon. Riddhima, I have an idea. So, I'm going to text Vansh "hi" bc I want to see if he's going to reply or ignore my message. Should I do that?"

Riddhima - "Yeah. You should definitely send him the message. Even I want to know how he's going to react."

Sejal - "Ok so I just sent him "hi" and I'll call you when he does something."

Riddhima - "Ok. Bye."

Sejal - "Bye"

I fell asleep after Sejal ended the call.

A Few Hours Later

I woke up after taking a nap for few hours. I picked up my phone and saw WhatsApp notifications from Sejal. I opened her message, only to be shocked. Why did Vansh do that? I thought to myself. Like seriously, why did Vansh block Sejal just because she texted him "hi." Whereas I texted him a confession and he still unblocked me the next day. He even accepted my follow request and followed me back the first time I requested to follow him. And Vansh also doesn't know me, then why is he doing all this? What's going on in his mind? He's being so confusing.

So guys, why do you think Vansh is doing all this? Why did Vansh unblock Riddhima even after everything she did while he blocked Sejal even though Sejal just texted him "hi."

Also guys do keep in mind that Vansh didn't know Riddhima at all before all this. In fact, he still doesn't know a lot about Riddhima. Vansh just knows that Riddhima is a freshman in the high school in which he graduated.

I know guys this chapter was very boring. The next chapter will kind of be more interesting.

Chapter 5

Author's POV

One Week Later

Riddhima was doing her homework on her computer desk. Suddenly her father came in with an envelope.

Raj (Riddhima's Dad) - Riddhima beta, you received this envelope in the mail today from Princeton University. So, I thought I should give it to you.

Riddhima - Thank you, dad

Raj left after handing the envelope to Riddhima. Riddhima decided to open it and she was reading the letter. In the end, the letter read: "If you have any questions, please feel free to ask questions to the following alumni." She started skimming through the names of the alumni. Suddenly, a name caught her eye. It was Vansh's name. Yes. Vansh Raisinghania's name.

Riddhima's POV

I can't even express how happy I am. I didn't even have any plans to contact him anytime soon. But, I guess God has some different plans for me. I can't believe it. Millions of students go to the conference every year, but out of so many students, Vansh's name is written on the letter. That means that he is in my qismat (fate). I decide to tell Sejal about this tomorrow. I then keep the envelope in my bag so I can show this to Sejal. After that, I lay down on the bed and fall asleep in a few minutes.

Next Day

The first four periods of the day went by fastly. After the history class, I went to the art room to meet Sejal.

Riddhima - "Hi Sejal."

Sejal - "Hi Riddhima. Come sit."

I walked to the seat in front of her and sat there. After eating lunch, I decided to tell Sejal about the letter that I received yesterday. I quickly summarized what happened.

Sejal - "That's really good Riddhima. You shouldn't wait to reach out to him. In fact, you should text him now. I have a feeling that he is going to reply to your message."

Riddhima - "But, idk what I should text him. Can you please me?"

Sejal - "Of course, I will help you. Give me your phone, I'll write the message for you."

After showing me the message, Sejal sent him the following message from my phone. "Hi Vansh, this is Riddhima. Can I please ask you some questions about the conference? I promise I won't text you anything that's not related to the conference. Please reply soon."

Sejal - "Let's see if he'll reply."

The whole school day slowly went by and I still didn't receive a response from him. On my bus, I decided to unsend the message, and afterward, I sent him a new message which was "Hi Vansh, this is Riddhima. Can you please answer the following questions: When is the conference? How long is the conference? Is it worth it?" After reaching my home, I changed my clothes and went downstairs to eat food. I later went in my room to do my homework. As I was doing my homework, my phone vibrated. I picked it up in order to see the notification. I unlocked my phone and saw that Vansh replied. My heart started beating fastly and I didn't know how to react. I'm so happy. I quickly opened Instagram, so I can read his message. He sent me the following message: "The conference is 7-10 days long. You have to stay on campus for the amount of time the conference is. And the rest is online." I replied with "What's the website?" He immediately replied with "It should be written in the letter. If not, then just google it."

"Ok. Thank You."

"No worries"

I immediately called Sejal to tell her that Vansh replied. She picked up on my second call.

Sejal - "Sorry Riddhima. I was busy which is why I couldn't pick up your call the first time. Anyways did Vansh reply yet?"

Riddhima - "Yes. He replied!!! I'm so happy. Wait a sec. I'll send you a screenshot of the chat."

Sejal - "OMG that's so good. He said no worries at the end which shows that he doesn't have a problem with you texting him. I'm so happy for you."

Riddhima - "I know Sejal. He seems like such a nice person. Sejal, can you request to follow him again from your spam? I want to see if he'll accept your request. And I'll also unfollow him and then immediately request to follow him again. I want to see what he's going to do"

Sejal - "Ok. I'll do that. I hope he doesn't block me on my other account too."

Riddhima - "Yeah, same. Anyways bye."

30 Minutes Later

I was watching TV and I received an Instagram notification. It said he accepted my follow request. I then texted Sejal "He accepted my follow request. Did he accept yours?" A few minutes later she replied with "Nope he declined it." Ok, now I'm 100% sure that he has a soft corner for me because he accepted my follow request so many times.

Author's POV

Following Day

Riddhima and Sejal were walking to their buses while thinking about a new question that Riddhima can ask Vansh. After a lot of thinking, Sejal came up with a question.

Sejal - "Riddhima, you can ask Vansh if you will get any benefits by attending this conference."

Riddhima - "But, how should I phrase the question?"

Sejal - "Umm you can say, 'Hi Vansh, do you actually receive anything for attending the conference.'"

Riddhima - "Doesn't this question sound a little stupid?"

Sejal - "Don't worry Riddhima. And plus you're just using this question as an excuse to talk to him."

Riddhima - "Actually yeah. I should just send him the message."

Riddhima quickly typed the question, exactly like Sejal phrased it and sent it to Vansh. After that, Riddhima and Sejal went to their respective buses. After the bus dropped her off at her bus stop, Riddhima started walking to her house. It was a 5 minute walk to her house from the bus stop. While she was walking, she received a message from Vansh. He sent the following message: "I mean that's what you pay for so yeah. Lmao." Riddhima's heart started beating rapidly. She left Vansh on seen and called Sejal.

Riddhima - "Sejal, you can't believe what Vansh texted me. He said 'I mean that's what you pay for so yeah. Lmao.' What should I do? He is being sarcastic. He probably thinks that I'm very stupid. Please help me out. Now what will I say."

Sejal - "Riddhima calm down. Stop worrying so much. Just tell him that you thought that the conference didn't have a fee. I'm sure that Vansh will understand why you asked the question."

Riddhima - "Ok I'll tell him that. Thank you"

After cutting the call, Riddhima texted Vansh "I know the question was stupid, but I didn't know that the conference costed money which is why I asked the question." Vansh immediately read her message and replied.

Vansh - "I believe that you should research and then make a decision bc the conference does cost a decent amount of money."

Riddhima - "Yeah I just read the letter again and the conference is pretty expensive. Anyways thank you."

Vansh - "No problem."

Riddhima then took a screenshot of the chat and sent it to Sejal. And texted her "Vansh is so nice. He understood why I asked the message." Riddhima entered her house after sending the message to Sejal. She said hi to her parents and went to freshen up. The day went by quickly because she spent most of her day doing her homework. After finishing her hw, Riddhima decided to sleep. As Riddhima was laying on the bed, a thought crossed her mind. "Was Vansh actually laughing on me when I asked him the question. Should I ask him" she thought.

After a lot of thinking, she decided to message him. She texted him: "Sorry for disturbing you so late at night. I couldn't get this question out of my mind. I just wanted to ask you if you were actually laughing after I asked you that question." He replied after a few minutes with "Don't worry about it." Riddhima just kept her response short and said "Ok." And fell asleep after a few minutes.

A week passed by and Riddhima had the same routine. She used to do her hw, go to school, ask Vansh questions and Vansh used to reply back.

One Day

Riddhima was watching the Instagram stories on her phone and she suddenly came across Vansh's Instagram story. Vansh posted a pic of him and his gf on his story. In the pic, Vansh's gf was sitting on his lap. This made her heartache although she already knew that he might have someone in his life. But, now it is confirmed that he has someone in his life whom he loves. And now she stands no chance bc she is nothing in front of his gf. His gf is an attractive white girl who is way mature than her. She called Sejal and told her about Vansh having a gf. Sejal told her to stay strong and besides they already knew that there was a huge possibility of him having a gf.

Few Days Later

It was Riddhima's cousin's birthday today, so Riddhima and her family went to her cousin's house today. Ragini and Riddhima are the same age, but Ragini is 4 months older than her. And they both are very close.

Ragini (hugging Riddhima) - "Riddhima! I missed you so much!"

Riddhima - "I missed you too Ragini. And happy birthday! Can't believe you're already 15."

Ragini - "Yeah, time passes so quickly. Anyways let's go to my room, it's been such a long time since we last met. I have a lot to talk about."

Riddhima didn't tell Ragini that she has a crush on Vansh. But, Riddhima told Ragini that she received an invitation for a conference and that she texted an alumni so she could ask questions. Ragini became interested in the conference after she read the letter.

So, she asked Riddhima to ask Vansh the following question for her: "I have a cousin who's also in 9th grade, but she doesn't go to my school. So, can she still attend the conference?" Vansh immediately replied and said "Umm yeah she can and the rest is online. And I mean this in the nicest way possible pls stop sending me dms."

Ragini burst out laughing after she read his message. And Riddhima also started laughing along with her, so Ragini wouldn't find out that she likes Vansh. Although Riddhima was very hurt by the message that Vansh sent.

Ragini - "Riddhima, I'm going to tell out parents about what he said. It's too funny."

Ragini was about to walk out of the room, but Riddhima held her arm.

Riddhima - "No Ragini, please don't tell our parents. It's going to be embarrassing bc he straight forwardly asked me to stop dming me."

Ragini (laughing) - "Ok ok. I won't tell them."

Riddhima - "Ragini stop laughing. And should I just ask him to block me bc he's literally so rude. I only asked him three questions."

Ragini - "Yeah. He's honestly very rude. There's no point in talking to him and plus he's not interested in talking to you. So, just ask him to block you."

Riddhima then texted Vansh "Sorry and can you please block me." After a few minutes, Vansh blocked Riddhima without a response.
