"His renunciation of me, our marriage, and our child lead me to Mumbai all those years ago. Dhani trembled, her voice barely audible. Steadfast tears fell from her eyes one after the other as she elicited the torment yet again. She squeezed her hands together in her anxiousness as she gasped for air. She felt defeated and forlorn as she recounted each bittersweet memory from her very first encounter with Viplav. Her shoulders drooped visibly as she sulked in response to the cognizance of her past. She nervously glanced around as she attempted to straighten her posture. Her back continued to face Vidhaan and Mahi as they empathetically listened to her story mindful of interrupting her vocal discord. Dhani sheathed herself within her arms in an an effort to alleviate the hollowness that had become increasingly conspicuous within her chest. Vidhaan sat motionless as he marveled at the wonders of the Almighty in astonishment. His heart ached for the disheartened angel who stood before him in her most desolate incarnation. Yet, tears of joy brimmed within his eyes upon the realization that Dhani was family. His princess was his own blood. After leaving the confines of her own father's love, the Almighty had brought her directly to him to be under his care. He wiped his tears, gathered his clout, and slowly walked towards Dhani. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder impelling Dhani to turn towards him. She looked up at her older brother dejectedly as he encompassed her in his protective embrace. He allowed her to rest her fragile cheek against his chest as she sought solace in her direst hour. He looked into her eyes as his own tear rolled down his cheek. "Princess is my own? he whispered overjoyed by their newfound kinship. Dhani looked up at him and smiled wistfully in response to his question. The agony that reflected from her eyes was enough to break his own heart. His angel had suffered the same fate he had at the hands of the same people. He knew his brother was a gem of a human being, but was sadly ignorant of his own family's misdeeds. Viplav was still residing in the mirage he had broken many years ago. He knew unequivocally that his mother and grandfather were responsible for all of the misunderstandings between his younger brother and his angel. An enraged expression formed on his face as he thought of the atrocity his grandfather and mother were capable of in their greed for fame and fortune. Mahi had quickly noted the array of emotions that had flashed across her husband's face and compassionately held on to his hand as a token of her support. Dhani pulled out of Vidhaan's embrace almost lifeless and inhaled sharply. She looked up at her two mentors mutely voicing her need to detach away from their house for the time being. Mahi cradled her face lovingly in her palms with sullen eyes as Vidhaan patted her back in apperception.

Viplav had fallen asleep as a consequence of his throbbing migraine at the turn of events that day. He couldn't have fathomed a more distinct beginning to his day than the one he had experienced hours ago. Hearing voices in the main hall, he awoke groggily and glanced at the clock which read 7:30 pm. He peered down at his clothes that had wrinkled in his slumber and quickly thought of freshening up and changing before leaving his room. Viplav stepped out of the bathroom after having changed into a marled gray collared cardigan, black v-neck tee, dark skinny jeans, and black high top Nike sneakers. He walked out towards the hall and chanced upon his brother and the attractive lady he had seen Vidha with days before outside the toy store. He keenly watched as his brother and the lady were both engrossed in a hushed conversation failing to notice his presence. Viplav cleared his throat waiting for either to acknowledge his presence. Vidhaan sharply glanced up at his younger brother and smiled warmly at his intent gaze. "Chotai, I was just about to call you outside. I want you to meet the love of my life, Mahi. He stared lovingly at his wife as he held her hand leading her closer to his younger brother. Mahi smiled affectionately at Viplav before embracing him into a hug filled with warmth and tenderness. "A pleasure to have finally met you, little bro! Mahi beamed at Viplav in a dazzling smile. Viplav instantly took a liking to his bhabhi appreciating her sweet and gentle nature. "The pleasure is all mine, big sis! My only wish is that I had met you sooner. Viplav quickly peered at his brother anticipating a reaction of some sort. Vidhaan gingerly shook his head smiling at his Chotai's comment while Mahi's eyes sparkled in reply. Viplav's eyes skimmed the entire room for the one person who resided within his heart as his one true love. Vidhaan and Mahi both caught sight of Viplav's wandering eyes, but chose to deny his silent gander. As Mahi and Viplav acquainted themselves to habituate their new relationship, Vidhaan decided to order in for dinner that night. He was overjoyed seeing his wife and his younger brother converse animatedly over a multitude of topics. Aware of his wife's love for the Persian Darbar in Bandra and Viplav's predilection for briyani, he settled on veg malai seekh kebab, baby corn tandoori, paneer zafrani tikka, butter naan, veg biryani, and strawberry lassi from their colossal menu. The trio spent the next two hours relishing their delicious meal with laughter, merriment, and chatter. Throughout dinner, Viplav awaited his wife's arrival to the dinner table in silent apprehension. His eyes darted continuously between Vidhaan, Mahi, and the door to Dhani's bedroom at the end of the hallway. Vidhaan scrutinized Viplav's restless behavior assessing a discreet franticness that he had never witnessed in his brother before. Satiated by the scrumptious cusine, Viplav mustered his courage and inspired as deeply as he could in preparation for his next question. He filled his glass with water and took a long sip attempting to retain his demeanour as placid. "The biryani was delicious as was the rest of the meal. Thank you, Bhaiyya and Bhabhi. He grinned at the two in gratitude of their hospitality. "Bhaiyya, I haven't seen Vidha all day. Is she not coming back from her grandmother's tonight? he let out in one long breath. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he impatiently awaited his brother's reply. He fiddled with his napkin on the table keeping his eyes glued to his plate lest his brother witness the longing in his eyes for his daughter. Mahi and Vidhaan both exchanged a nervous glance fully aware of the hidden intent behind Viplav's question. Vidhaan feigned ignorance and casually stated that she would remain at her own house with her grandmother. He analyzed Viplav's forlorn posture and disheartened expression to his reply. He knew his brother was aching deeply as was Dhani miles away from them in Mahim. His heart went out to both for the cruel manner in which their relationship had been devastated by their so-called "loved ones. Vidhaan made a hushed promise to himself that he would rectify their immorality and would leave no stone unturned in reuniting his brother with his estranged family come what may.

That was the intention that Vidhaan and Mahi would work hard to sort the misunderstanding out between Viplav and Dhani. Vidhaan was also to be given the task of breaking Viplav's delusions about his own family, especially his grandfather and mother, by correlation of his own experience. Avani, I had made an outline for each chapter's subplots so that I knew what I needed to cover in each chapter. I can post those on this thread as well if you'd like. You won't get the full story, but at least an idea of how it would all end.😊

Part Eight:

• Dhani finishes her story and confirms her departure back to Mahim.
• Mahi is introduced to Viplav for the first time. Vidhaan notices Viplav's eyes searching for Dhani. Without seeming too obvious, he asks of Vidha's whereabouts.
• Seeing Vidhu's immense love for her father and how much she misses him, Dhani realizes the importance of their relationship.
• Viplav comes to see Dhani at the boutique. Suvarna senses the friction between the two and leaves giving them their space. Dhani discloses to Viplav that he will be reunited with his daughter on Diwali, but will never have any relationship with him again.
• Viplav meets Rajlaxmi who questions his love for his wife. Why had he made all those promises to one day abandon his wife?
• A month later during the festivities of Diwali, Vidhaan's son Madhav returns home from boarding school from Panchgani. A loving child who dotes over Vidha and instantly becomes buddies with his chacha.
• The ladies of Mahim see Viplav for the first time in years and maintain a distance.
• Viplav and Vidha are reunited as father and daughter.
• Viplav comes to thank Dhani when she suddenly rushes towards the bathroom by a sudden bout of nausea. Viplav holds Dhani's hair back as she vomits and soothes her back. She looks up horrified at Viplav realizing that she's pregnant!
