Viplav and Dhani were seated under a tree in a corner of the Ghat. It was more than an hour they were talking and sharing their feelings. They had not got enough time to sit and talk after they had acknowledged their love for each other.
Earlier it was friends talking and sharing and fighting but now it was different. Their relationship had reached one more level. And situation too. Dhani was still apprehensive. She slowly with much persuasion of Viplav disclosed all her feelings her fears . Fear of hurting their family, Fear of reaction of the society, Fear of effect that would have in their relationship and above all wellbeing of them. Fear of grave consequences which she could not fathom!!
Viplav on the other hand was trying hard to calm her down with all possible solutions he could think of Its not like he was not apprehensive . It was not clear to him too to what extent this would go. But as always he managed to calm her down.
He managed to change the topic of their conversation and had drifted to random talks and their usual chatter about this and that.
Dhani all of a sudden got up realising that it was too late and she had come without informing anyone. Her mother would be furious !! "All because of you Vakil Babu!!. Maai will be so angry now
"What did i do !! Viplav retorted "Arey its ok i will drop you. You will be there in minutes. Now don't start complaining my Shikayati Pudiya " he chuckled.
Dhani got down from his jeep in front of her Ashram. Viplav too got down . Dhani turned to him when she was about to enter the Ashram. He swiftly held her hand in one hand and with other hand caressed her cheek and said "will call you in the night . Take care and don't worry about anything
Dhani smiled and entered her Ashram.
Viplav was heading home after dropping Dhani. There was something in mind bothering him since Dhani had mentioned him about his Grandfather calling her. How could his Grandfather do that? It doesn't seem right . When his Grandfather had discussed this with him why would he talk to Dhani? If required he should have talked to us together.
Anyway he had to talk to his grandfather about his decision of not to backdown.
He reached his home. He found his lovely grandmother working in the kitchen . His Grandmother his Princess was source of his strength since childhood. He would share everything with her. Even if he didn't she would somehow sense what he is going through!! She was truly happy about his and Dhani's relationship and had given her blessings when he had disclosed about his love for Dhani right after their Ghazipur stay. Viplav knew irrespective of who would be with him or not in his family his Princess would always be with him. He smiled at his GrandMother and asked "Where is Dadaji?" She answered "Your Dadaji is in his room studying. Anything urgent? She could sense he was a little thoughtful.
"Nothing Daadi He said and headed straight to his Grandfathers room.
"Daadaji i need to talk to you Viplav said entering the room
His Grandfather looked at him and asked him to come in and sit.
"Daadaji i have decided. I cannot and will not back off from this marriage. I love Dhani and cannot live without her. I don't care what the world thinks. But I do care about what my family thinks. What you think is important to me and you yourself have said that you don't have any issues with Dhani .We can manage if we try i am sure. You are Mahant of Benaras and people will listen to you . If we try we can change this meaningless custom forever. Its a chance for you too Dadaji. Please understand we can handle all of this if you stand your ground "saying this Viplav waited for his Grandfathers reaction.
His Grandfather after a minute or two sighed and said
"Let me discuss this with my other Mahants . Please give me sometime
Viplav headed out of his Grandfathers room. He hadn't questioned his grandfather about the call made to Dhani.
It was still troubling him. "Was his Grandfather actually fine with this marriage??
Dhani was in her room in the Ashram setting up things thinking about their conversation today. She had mentioned to Vakil Babu about his Grandfathers offer to leave Benaras.
How could she? It was his love for Vakil Babu .She could very well understand. But was it correct to hide this from Vakil Babu?
So here they were lost in their thoughts.
