IKRS Monday 4thApril 2016 ep 208 My Take ~ under my feet!
In our anatomy our feet form the base ,bottom end of our body. They carry us from one point to the other. Our feet maintain the balance of our physical frame as we perform positional actions of walking and standing. The episode today to me, gives references to feet, and as such many phrases conjure up in my mind where phrases refer to the lowest part of our body either in singular or plural form. Within the episode it's two characters whose feet are referred too. Namely Viplav and Raja. Now with Raja in mind, it's hard to overlook the day he put one foot through the door of AN.. One step to achieving his goal..
This is what Viplav always liked about his ashram family.People shun beating around the bush and come clean with each other and offer support. Inderani supports his decision but still, under plays fall outs with family ,its common place. Still she reprimands Viplav for leaving his home. There concern for him , chivvies him to explain, his family has no respect for his views ,in fact they called him a liar! Viplav confides before them , that living under the same roof as Raja is beyond his endurance. Inderani, Dulari are shocked[ although yesterday when Dulari phoned Kanak she already told Dulari, Shalu married Raja , the cause Viplav left the home] but Dulari reminds Viplav about things of worth ,that it was his birthright to be in that house more than an outsiders and leaving home is not a worthy solution. Dulari guides him, let it go, to do away with childishness as the house belongs to him along with all who live in it! Dhani too insists that if our house is on fire we need to put out the fire not run.. Viplav clarifies, that's true but by staying there he cannot be part of the wrong , committed against Shalu. Dhani empowers him by the lesson he had given her in troubled times.. face the fear and fight it to overpower it! but Viplav ,complains at the indifference of his mother and dadaji at leaving home, so why should he be bothered about them! Dulari makes up, that his mother rang to enquire about his whereabouts, but Viplav catches her out that she can't even lie properly , for Viplav knows , knowing his mother Kanak would never ring Dulari of all the people! Viplav clarifies it once for all! he has decided he is not returning home where ever he stays! Dhani challenges him she too has made a decision and that is to return to AN as it's her home and she is not going to do a runner from troubles! So Dhani leaves him standing in the ashram high and dry! Dulari plays her role well as a sensible mother inlaw.. without disrespecting Viplav, she reiterates to him the importance of his family and his home..
Steeped in darkness Dhani returns to her home opens the front door! is welcomed by the dark unknown.. yet she is intrepid , why the fear? as this is her home. But then no one is around and she calls for dadi! maa ji! But instead hears the wolf whistle of the footloose fancy free Raja! he comes down the stairs ,his motives unholy like before . He makes passes at her once more ,physically intimidates her ! he's sent every one off to the temple for veneration ,so he could look after her! Dhani thwarts his advances and hurls him aside on the settee and suddenly runs! right into her saviour! Viplav feels her thump across his chest in the darkness ! Dhani, he calls and she replies Viplav and hides against his chest. Raja stands up in the darkness looks like he just put his foot in his mouth! With his head pressed against Dhani's head, Viplav's eyes shift like the lion hidden behind the foliage of the jungle . He makes out his prey Raja! More or less caught in his chase of anything in skirts! Only this time the dirty rascal very nearly gives evidence of what Dhani had reported to him about this lowlife.Slowly Viplav walks towards Raja with thunder in his eyes and stops in his face.. and growls at Raja ,hope he doesn't consider himself as the son in law of his house? If so let him clear the misconception yet again ,Viplav asks him calmly. Raja fumbles all he wanted to tell bahbi ji was that all have gone to the temple. Viplav replies coldly , what he wanted to tell her and do ,he understands fully. Viplav takes one step forward,this time it will not be his hands ,but just on foot that will attack Raja! Viplav's boot sole squashes Raja's big toe so hard ! that blood oozes out of it.. it was these feet! raja uses.. these feet that lead to defile the vulnerable. uses to walk towards his Dhani! viplav's eyes are murderous as he puts pressure on the sole of his boot that nearly makes Raja double up in pain. Hetries to wrench his foot free from under Viplav's boot but Viplav pins his toe to the ground. If he thinks, by marrying Shalu ,he has reached his destination..sneers Viplav dangerously, he has another thing coming.. him and his mother have conned many families , but one thing they forget.. and that is,! in this family , there is Viplav tirpathi who lives here! he warns Raja , and till he doesn't expose his true face before all , neither he ll sit quietly, nor he ll let him be in peace! so brother looks like the game has just begun! Sneers Viplav in Raja's face! then lifts his foot off Raja' bleeding toe! then with a cold frigid glare at Raja. Viplav turns on his heels and goes to Dhani, protectively parks his hands on her shoulder and looks down tenderly into her face.. Raja doesn't know what's hit him! this is the highlight scene of the episode! Viplav has laid bare his strategy of how he will get the vermin infestation out of his house. He will make the Awasthi's want to leave!! So as far as Viplav is concerned Raja is his left toe!
The prodigal son is received with much love and affection, as the family returns from the temple. Dashrant is pleased to see Viplav, glad he understood what he tried to tell him , and has returned home! better late than never ! Kanak is over the moon and hugs, kisses and blesses her son. but notices her son in laws squashed bleeding toe! asks him about it ? she leaves viplav and goes to Raja and soon all gather around Raja, who finds his feet , by lying he bumped into something in the dark! how could he say ,that his feet lost their balance as Viplav gave him proper cold feet! His mother tells him off and so does Shalu for being careless in the dark but then Viplav threatens him in his surly tone, it was dark! No matter how careful one is, in our house even he come into darkness he is bound to get knocked, good thing he only got knocked this time..viplav threatened and mami asks , what did he mean? Viplav sneers she seems to be the most sensible one , but if she wants to know he'll tell her , this house that they have chosen , they have no clue where what is kept! so they have to be a bit careful..if you walk in darkness , be careful.. affirms viplav. Raja groped after Dhani he was in the dark that this time , Dhani has a husband and Raja wil get nothing out of chasing Dhani except being knocked against Viplav!
The females in Raja's life tend to his wound but his mother wants to know about his sore toe! and he replies it was Viplav who always injures him!
In the privacy of their room, Viplav thanks Dhani for persuading him to return home , she is absolutely right, he has to stay in the house and keep an eye on Raja..at first he was only worried about his mother. But now he is concerned for all his family. He assures her , not to be anxious as he can handle everything. He tells her the best part in all that's going on ,is their relationship. They were destined to be together!there she was living a simple life in the ashram whereas he was the grandson of the religious leader of Banaras living in his own world! Her love for him is the most important thing for him. Dhani is pleased as she thinks due to Raja he sounded so worried that it seemed he didn't think of anything else.. he tells her to sleep but adds it's important for them to find out what conspiracy is the Awasthi family playing with their family ,he has to find a good solution. It may mean Shalu's marriage breaks ,as its best to end such a marriage if its with a guy like Raja..says Viplav.dhani worries she'll hate them even more and he replies, he knows but hopefully she'll realize we did it for her on good .and that day she'll love them even more and that day is not far ,says Viplav.Then he moans that idiot ruined their honey moon too! andDhani giggles, they have their entire life ahead for that, she's not running away.. that reminds him of saying sorry to her for leaving her behind and running from home.
Overnight to appease his wife Viplav turns his room into a magical world.its to bring the feel of the worlds honey moon spots.. Dhani wakes up to it and loves the room and idea. Viplav tells her ,she's special!
Kanak knocks at their door and calls them down for veneration for Raja.
The Awasthi's idea is to punish Viplav and dhani , by making them wash the groom's feet to humble them !
Fantastic episode! Viplav all the way!with a strategy in place.. make the awasthi's want to leave!make life hell for them ,smoke the vermin out! some great lines of macabre humour too from viplav truely ... a Mishal episode.. well supported by Eisha. kanak's scene with her babu..was not fake ..she was so happy to see him.. no changes towards dhani though ,now that would be a little unreal as yet! hamlet53 5.4.16..
