What a great writer you are! You excel in portraying the self-thought of the characters so well. You convert, magically, the priceless and inimitable expressions of the actors into eloquent words that flow like the river ganga. These takes of yours in the past few days have excelled all expectations in their creativity and brilliance. BTW, wonderful title.
welll you know how unabashedly i thirst for your praise.. so thank you my friend you made my day😃
I will present a view of the composite episodes for the last few days, as promised. Excuse me, dear Hammie, and all others, if these views are repeated, and if others have already pointed them out. I was not able to read all the takes and responses with the usual care because of several factors out of my control.
no excuses..we all wait for your views..
The episodes of the past track was very much a modern day Ramayana on fast forward.a We first had the "forest-dweller" stage where Viplav and Dhani were hiding from Trip and his men. The abduction scene was very aesthetically crafted in shadow-play, even as Viplav was practicing his love-declaration. Similarly in the traditional Ramayan, Rama is busy trying to please Sita by getting her a golden deer that she wants to have as a pet, while Ravana, the Lanka King drags Sita away. In the epic, Ramayana, Sita is abducted because she crosses a magic line drawn for her own protection by her brother-in-law. In our serial, Dhani, too, has crossed a line etched by the harsh ink of patriarchal norms of exactly how widows should live. In the epic, we have Lord Rama waging a war to rescue her from the clutches of the demon king. Sita then had to "prove" her purity by walking through fire and emerging unscathed, and now Dhani emerges unscathed from the fire of partriarchal wrath fueled by Trip and DT. In some later interpolations of the Ramayana, Sita leaves Rama after being rescued and returns to the forest because despite emerging successfully out of the fire ordeal, some of the subjects of the kingdom cast aspersions on her character. Likewise, Dhani runs away from Vip's proposal for reasons yet to be revealed. I suspect that it is a combination of first being overwhelmed, and then being indoctrinated/brainwashed by DT.
👏 this is such a fantastic faith connection you have shared.. the story emerges so much more meaningful
The episodes are wonderfully done, and I am quite in awe as to their quality and consistency. A few things are on my mind in general:

1. Why did Vip choose the same Shiv Mandir, the site of Dhani's terrible witch hunt, as a location to declare his love? Did that have something to do with Dhani running away?
the venue didn't matter,,she was going torun anyway.. reason may be he never asked her ,DT must have black mailed her?
2. I am not looking forward to the day the Trip is bailed out by DT! Imagine his wrath and his urgent need to take badla for each and every beating received by grandson and grandfather combined. What all might he do? And will he still pretend to be the underdog of DT, or will he openly become rebellious?
one of his moves would be to turn viplav against DT..forsure.. Raj laxmi may work alongside himas he'll continue to fan her dreams of getting viplav..viplav needs to develop a discerning eye and see into DT.. that should keep the story moving on
3. BTW Hammie, the title song is a bhajan composed by a medieval saint by the name of Saint Kabir, who hailed from Benaras, and who is revered all over India. He composed in the local dialect, which is a mix of bhojpuri and urdu. If you wish to read more about him you can do so here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabir
thanks aimf.. what a lovely pressie...
Urdu is spoken as a local language in several parts of North India, by everyone regardless of people's religious beliefs. The kind of urdu we speak is very much mixed with Hindi and whatever local dialect presides over any particular area. The lyrics of the song are very beautiful and haunting.
you know already that its my national mother tongue along with Punjabi my regional language...
Looking forward to Monday's episode. FYI: more travel for me on Tuesday and lot of work from Friday onwards. Still wish to participate the best I can. Thank you for your patience. Have a great day!
monday's haven't checked out yet..fat chance pr her returning soon. hoping to see you soon..aimf thanks for your comment and touching base with all here..much love hammie..

Hey Hammie , Yes I am so late in responding to "The Fire of an ice maiden ..." As I was explaining to you The Holidays are a very busy time for me and also I wanted to see the entire episode again quietly in peace to absorb its essence.

the 24 mins had a lot of content, cameraman ship , lofty dialogues , great acting all jammed in together. Read a lot of views from my fellow IKRS-ians and shared some too. A few of us did not like the proposal, some of us thought the venue was not correct and some the timeliness of it. You too were disappointed - angry at its end . No second opinion it was a very good episode - one of the best if you ask me.

What I liked the best Hammie was not the words that were being said but the words that were not - The sound of silence . I'm old school when it comes to the matter of the heart . A loving eye lock to me is more romantic than a ILU shout out from a roof top. ( if you know what I mean ). There were just so many of those moments when eyes spoke and actions were bigger than words. You have touched on some . I'll just list them again. Each on their own when it comes to their interpretation.

- The Fall of the sword which Viplav catches by his bare hands. Blood streaming down falls on her forehead and both look at each other one in anguish and the other in disbelief.

- His looking at Dhaani when he declares his intentions of marrying her to the public. Checking with her - did you hear what i just said ?

- Dadaji's shock when Viplav grabs his shawl as if to expose the man under that cloak . The very honorable cloak he wraps over Dhaani.

- Dhaani walking away with the Safed gang turns to look back twice unable to get a grasp of all that happened .

- Viplav looking at her while she walks away regretting the pain caused to her , wishing none of this should have happened.

- Dulaari standing helpless as a mother and watching fate take it course when Viplav declares Dhaani as his future wife.

- Viplav when proposing looks at Dhaani expectantly for her answer.

- Dhaan walks away without an answer and the Viplav turning towards Shivji as if to ask - what happened here.

So much was being said ...while in the background the sound of "Khuda ka rang safed hai ..." rang in our ears.

does anyone still think that the episode should have been done differently ?

Your write up was so detailed . Thanks you again for giving me this space to write .

Hugs
