Aug 15: 30 seconds that touched my heart

I only just got around to watching yesterday's epi and once again find myself floored by MR adding nuance to scenes where he is essentially meant to be a "spectator" ...especially apparent in the scene where Dadaji is in full theatrics mode busy lashing out at Daadi and womankind in general and then going into emotional blackmail mode with Viplav...all this while, you see a myriad of expressions float across Viplav's face...the deference towards his grandfather with a bowed head, the almost innocent matter of fact admission of his prank, his defending his Daadi...again trying to appease his grandfather, quieting down when his grandfather again appeals to him to be his successor (I saw mention of a BROTHER...Viplav has an older brother? Interesting)...

In this entire scene, MR held my attention even in the middle of all the shouting high drama...a strange sort of quiet dignity and helplessness to Viplav in this scene...I was intrigued as to why he allows his grandmother to be disrespected so when he clearly loves her a lot...I could even understand him deferring to his grandfather but him not saying anything even as he could sense his own mother's catty remarks to Daadi was interesting...the pain could be seen on his face...him suffering for his Daadi's suffering...

Which brings me finally to the 30 seconds I want to really talk about...these 30 seconds when Viplav goes to console his Daadi and just folds her into a hug...it's a heartbreaking moment which really makes you connect with the bond these characters share...in that moment, MR SOLD it, man👏...as only he can...with the way Viplav's pain for his Daadi reflected in his eyes and his voice dropped into this soft tone as he says, "Nahin Daadi" when Daadi berates her fate yet again...

Something so fierce and protective about his love for his grandmother...

On a lighter note, Daadi's pallu stuffing in her mouth could give Babi a run for her money😆...LTL fans may recognize the reference😆

I loved this scene and I'm looking forward to the time when he stands up for her. That is just pure domestic abuse. That poor daadi. That emotional and mental torture that she's suffered for years. And Viplavs mum is such a witch. Telling tales about daadi to the dadaji. Disgusting. Looking forward to the older brothers entry too. And really starting to enjoy the drama after the brilliant acting MR gave us in this episode. Loved it.

Yes, Daadi is being subjected to blatant abuse and it's just sad that she doesn't stand up for herself at all...I guess she's waiting for Dhaani to show up in the house to turn things around like all good bahus😆

Show is surprisingly watchable at this point...the epis deffo picked up later on or maybe we just got used to the setting😕😆

The story and high drama has scope if executed correctly...there are enough plot points with the complicated relationships and back stories.

Arae yaar,Kamal kardiya aapne..really the 30sec was just incredible.it was a magical moment. The way he hold his dadi & confronts her..The pain was visible in Viplav eye's & the feel of Guilt..I'm sure this love would one day crash all the dirty things of Dushanth Tripati😳

This show has promise and Mishal acts well. I really hope that Daadi will stand up for herself in future.
Used to read your Analysis in NBT forum. Feels good to read them again for this show!!!

Viplav surely has personal connect with all family members. May be he is "the hope", for them.
He surely loves his dadi, who's subject to humiliation most of the time. Those 30 secs spoke a lot about dadi- pota relationship.
Did dadaji spoke about his brother? May be I must have overlooked.
Or he said Viplav is the only one, who will handle his empire. To be frank I can't expect Viplav becoming a mahant some day. 😆

Thank you :) The bond b/w Viplav and his Daadi feels genuine and yes hopefully Viplav will wake up to the realities one day and take a stand.
