All the ten teams have now played one match each. Hello everyone and a warm welcome to the sixth game of IPL 2025. It's defending champions - Kolkata Knight Riders - who were humbled by RCB - up against Rajasthan Royals who were sent on a leather hunt by SRH. Today's match will be played in Guwahati, a city that's closer to Kolkata, but it's a home game for the 2008 champions. Also, it's Riyan Parag's home ground and he'll be leading RR once again with Sanju Samson still recovering from finger surgery.

We've already witnessed six 200+ totals in five matches this season. Let's find out what the Barsapara Cricket Stadium has in store for us.

KKR got off to a superb start at the Eden Gardens with the bat against RCB but stuttered in the second half of the innings. Following that, they couldn't exert any sort of pressure with the ball as the target was hunted down comfortably. While there won't be any drastic changes to their XI, the three-time champions could rejg their batting order. For RR, it was a tough day for their bowlers in Hyderabad. All the bowlers were taken to the cleaners and Jofra Archer, their overseas recruit, ended up bowling the most expensive spell in IPL history (0/76 in 4 overs). RR did put up a fight chasing a humongous total. Samson and Jurel showed their class with fifties and the Hetmyer-Dubey duo reduced the margin of defeat with their power-hitting. RR fielded three overseas bowlers but Hasaranga wasn't one of them. Will he make it to the XI today? It's highly unlikely there'll be any changes in their batting department. We've already witnessed six 200+ totals in five matches this season. Let's find out what the Barsapara Cricket Stadium has in store for us.

IPL 2025 has a lot of new loyalties following the churn at the mega auction. Nitish Rana played for KKR for seven seasons. He's a new Royal this year.

Good evening, and welcome to ESPNcricinfo's live coverage of match no. 6 of IPL 2025 - Rajasthan Royals hosting Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati.

Both teams lost their opening fixtures by sizeable margins: RR to the marauding Sunrisers in Hyderabad and KKR to RCB in Kolkata. First points of the season up for grabs tonight for someone. Read up on everything you need to know in our preview of the game.

Speaking of this season, it's had quite the start. IPL 2024 finished as the most explosive season of all time, but IPL 2025 has left it in the dust so far. More boundaries, more big overs, more 200+ strike rates. Come on, bowlers, what have you got this year?

It’s a big day for Guwahati's very own Riyan Parag.

After having enjoyed a breakout IPL 2024, and made it to India’s white-ball sides last year, Parag will be leading Rajasthan Royals in his hometown against defending champs Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati.

Both teams started the new season with defeats, and will be looking to secure their first points today.

ICYMI: Sanju Samson, RR’s regular captain, hasn’t been cleared yet to keep wicket or field after having undergone finger surgery last month. The injury, however, didn’t seem to hamper him while batting in RR’s opener against SRH during the weekend.

6.45 pm Karthik: "Can we expect the pitches to wear out as the tournament progresses? Or the fact that many teams have more than 1 home ground prevent that?" Are you bored of the big-hitting already?! So, while pitches will slow down a touch, I don't expect it to be a major slowdown, because like you say a few teams have a couple of home venues, and a lot of venues have multiple pitches on the square.

Kallu: "Which franchises play home matches at multiple venues?" RR play in Guwahati and Jaipur, PBKS play in Mullanpur and Dharamsala, DC play in Delhi and Visakhapatnam.
