dabang and dhamal
few months back
or
the time it was aired for first time on zee tv
or re-telecast on zee tv
during the phase ndtv ramayan aired
I didn't know it was telecast at that time. I discovered NDTV Imagine Ramayan by accident. I initially thought BRC Ramayan was a cut version of Vishnu Puran but later found out that they were different. Past few years I have been away from epics/itihaas so didn't know which aired when. Thankfully the mini episodes were uploaded later in YouTube so got to watch other series. BRC Ramayan wasn't available until much later.
they showed the sisters having different qualities
i liked the way
they explored their characters but
they gave too much focus on lanka scenes

It's nice to see them explore the sisters' characteristics but I wonder where they get info from or if they have used their imagination.
Vishnu Puran and it's tales focuses on Dasavatar and the main events. Probably that's why Lanka is given more importance.
sita known for cooking and urmila known for painting
i read at many places
also they had all talents
even if they took creative liberty
it's fine
i was talking about chopra ramayan
not chopra vishnupuran
in those shows
costumes of men were quite simple
not much design or embroidery
these days
mytho shows have
attractive and beautiful
dhotis and shawls for them
by the way
madhubani paintings originated from mithila
shows like siya ke ram and shrimad ramayan
showed
the royals and commoners of mithila
wearing madhubani printed clothes

I have read this too but not sure of the source. It sure is fine if they took creative liberty. Princesses were educated in multiple arts, sciences and politics. Its certainly possilbe that they might be interested in especially one or more of them or excel in the same.
Chopra Ramayan seems to follow Vishnu Puran Ramayan pretty closely.
Some shows tend to keep costumes simple for ease of presentation and also designed clothes were rare but given the prosperity of the kingdoms, it is possible that they had a good bunch of talented weavers. Not just designed clothes, it was believed they even had embossed, embroidered and clothes with designer patterns with holes (not entirely sure of this but I remember reading some reports on archaeological statues of Indus Valley did sport such patterns). As for presentation these days its great to see attractive patterns and nice colours... The only problem is that they sometime use some really gaudy stuff and cheap material. No complaints as long as they fit the scene.
I remember reading about Madhubani paintings originated in Mithila but I thought it was a folk art form.Initially I thought it was a simplistic style but later on discovered that there were different styles of Madhubani Portrayal. Not sure but guessing... Its possible that the painting style changed over the many years.
