In one word, exquisite. Exquisite in conception, exquisite in the description. The words bring out so beautifully the divine beatitude of the Jaganmaata, the daughter of the Himalayas: both the little 8 year old Uma that she will always be for her mother, as also the effulgent, radiant Durga Parameshwari that she is for us mortals.

I was unfamiliar with the aitheeham that Saraswati and Lakshmi too are children of Durga's. I find it very interesting, reaffirming as it does the total primacy of both Parvati and Mahadev within the Holy Trinity. Your descriptions of each of Durga's four children is most evocative.

All in all, a lovely piece of writing.
