MahaVishnu tells MahaLakshmi that for kidnapping a woman, Deva Indra has to pay. And that's what led to him losing the Indrasan to Hiranyakashipu.

Yeah, well.
Much as I hate to sound like Maddu, the scriptures do show us that disrespect to women leads ultimately to destruction.

And yet, Bhudevi did, twice. And Panchali almost got kidnapped. Kayadu did, by Indra.

Bhudevi was kidnapped twice?

I thought it was just once when Hiranyaksha had kidnapped her.

Btw guys, I came across this information somewhere and was wondering if it was true.

Did Bhudevi become the consort of Vishnu from the moment Mahalakshmi gave forth two forms of herself, or after Varaha saved her from Hiranyaksha?

The second time is technically as Sita :P
She was His wife since Mahalakshmi split into two forms.

When exactly did she split into two forms though?

Mahalakshmi married Maha Vishnu after the sagar manthan, so after Kurma avatara.

Varaha was right after, so those two incidents probably coincided.

Maybe after Sagar manthan, Mahalakshmi created her second form Bhudevi to take care of the Earth, and that form married Vishnu during Varaha.

She split after Matsya avatar :P
She didn't actually split. She is Bhu-Lakshmi and Shri-Lakshmi.
Bhu came during Bhrigu kanya itself.

Okay a question that's been eating my life. Why is blood rather 'bali' offered only to Shakti? Why not to Shiva or Vishnu? Lord Shiva is offered flesh, that I've seen but not blood. Bali is offered only to Shakti. Why?

As far as I know, that is due to the Mahishasura Mardhini and more so, the Maa Kali reference. Maa Kali has a bowl filled with the blood of all the evil she has slain right? Hence, they offer blood to Shakti. In a way, it is like people are asking her to bring their misery justice.
