ive seen all the episodes.. .
if Bheesma wasnt a bramhachari... he would marry amba..funny that chitragupt said he should stay with amba in swarg like husband and wife.
why didnt they show satyawati..she's partly the blame for giving up the throne and was a bramhachari for live..

i agree he was the suiteble person to become king for hastinapur.
Then this drama wouldnt happen...

So everybody is convinced well that Yudhi was lusty, greedy, had no love for Draupadi and all. Very nice. Then he must be adhami, why did Dwapar yug people worship him as Dharmaraj and Ajaatshatru? I think all the Dwaparyugis either were simply fools or unrighteous people. They saw Yudhi more closely than us, but could not understand his 'real face'. We did not see him, just read a book and understood everything! We Kaliyugis have sharper brains, and broader minds, ok very good; but is it safe to assume that ALL Dwaparyugis were low in morality? Probably yes! So Suyodhan, Sushashan and their brothers, Karna, Shakuni, Dhritarashtra were the only good people in whole Aaryavarta, everybody else were bad. Very good!
Then comes the most important question!
Was Krishna too a fool or an unrighteous person? Ok let me agree with you, Yudhi is indeed adharmi. But this man loved Krishna, and Krishna too loved, respected him. Then was Krishna loving and supporting adharma? If yes, then why on earth people worship Krishna even in this Kaliyug?

Bhas sorry dont agree with this .Is there any citation that supports this rule?

Besides why are we forgetting what Pandu says to Kunti that a son born of a maiden becomes the son of her husband

So if we go by what Bhishma says and what Pandu says had Karna been disowned by Adiratha he would have been Pandu's son not Surya since Surya wasn't Kunti's husband and Pandu was

Besides the same Bhishma in his convo with Karna later in Drona parva says that as per the ordinance he is to Karna what he is to Dury

According to the ordinance, all of us also are as much thine as Duryodhana's!

SO even Bhishma considered Karna his grandson

And also when Krishna ji tells Karna that he is son of Pandu by rules even Karna says that he knows what Krishna ji is saying is true

If Karna was aware that as per rules he wasnt Pandu's son wouldn't he just say sorry you are lying krishna but the fact that even Karna agrees what krishna ji is saying is right means even Karna agreed that he is in fact Pandu's son

So i would say maximum citations suggest that he would have been considered pandu's son had truth come out.Though i guess all rules can be contested when claim on the throne comes into question.I mean that is one of the reasons of this great war as well

I don't think anyone said that he had no love for Draupadi. Yes, he was greedy and he did lust for Draupadi, I don' think that is a crime, all of the 5 brothers lusted Draupadi, and yes, he was a gambling addict who stupidly lost everything despite of knowing what would happen.

Yudisthira wasn't the Dharmaraja people think him to be, I think we are busting the myths here nothing more than that.

Its obvious that he was better than the Kauravas because he somewhere had compassion for them.

well, in my view, yudhi was not lusty, greedy or unrightious. his gambling adiction ruined him that day, that makes him a human. he was worshiped but he was also a human with a flaw.

When Yudhisthara went to forest at start of the vana parva. The entire populace of kurujangala the nation showed up and pleaded with their father and mother to not go. Vasa uses the term father and mother in context of king Yudhisthara and queen draupadi. When Yudhisthara sends two messages one via sanjaya and second via Krishna, he emphasized on two items and he gave more importance to the second group of items. In both messages, first demand was kingdom (in Krishna message he allowed a negotiating tactic of 5 places) but Yudhishtahra insisted on second demand in both messages: pension and charity due to teachers, orphans, poorest of poor, those who are unable to support themselves, handicapped, dwarves and those who are different. Same ones plus urdhavretas who were looked after by draupadi on daily basis. The "real" children of the Janaka, the King who is father. They were the ones they fought the war for. He repeated the message from Udyoga parva, the success of independence is meant by how you treat the lowest of low the ones who cannot help themselves the handicapped and the orphans.

No one was happy under duryodhana rule. It is clearly stated in Udyoga that Dhritrashtra's officers were corrupt stealing jeevika vriti of even Brahmins let alone orphans and others. It is clearly stated that because of huge number of dacoits the Praja was trasta. It is very clearly stated that because of law order no foreigner or pilgrim dared stay the night in kuru country for fear of bring robbed or killed or their children stolen. It is very clearly stated even by Dhritrashtra during vana that his sons are always immersed in shameful activities and vyabhichara.

Duryodhan had unfortunately not seen the throne as a responsibility. To him, it was about self definition. It was about himself. notice that when he dies all his words are about his life , his valour, his satisfaction but not a word for his praja or for that matter for any one else!!

and above all else to know the rule in dhrit's time do read the chapter of "kanika neeti" and also the reply of andavas to it during yudi-bheeshma convo.

Bhaas , thanx for this and pl can you help me find where Yudi-bhishma are replying to the neeti of Kanika bharadwaja?

Dear brother, a big applause for this 👏👏👏
A Bengali researcher Dr. Nrisinghaprasad Bhaduri too wrote the same in his book, "If Yudhishthir did not play dice that day, he would have ended up as a God character. Only dice game made him human. Otherwise we could not relate with him, so Godly he was!"

i cant understand why people are worshipping yudhi...
he isnt shiv or vishnu or other godesses.

in my opinion he was not fair when arjun brought this wife draupadi home..and his mother told to share it among 5 ...

1. she wasnt a wastu that u can share.
2. yudhi couldt say that draupadi belongs to arjun only.
but instead she should marry whith other brothers..i guess his wanted to marry draupadi too...
draupadi could refuse too..
because of him she experianced lots of pain..

3. yudhi put draupadi on stake..and he lost...he was wrong..he didnt aksed her..and she isnt a wastu.
4. where was yudhi when dushashan wanted to disrobe draupade..where was he..

i think she was better of with Karn...

Yudhi DID say that Draupadi would be Arjun's only. It was Arjun who refused to marry before his eldest.
Btw, Karna-Draupadi angle is not allowed to discuss here I think.
