Yes, we do! Sunita Williams is in Delhi right now, she met PM and Sonia Gandhi today. Her visit is being widely covered by media. And btw what do you mean by abusing?

She is in India and meeting with all these political leaders and her visit is being covered by the media and once she is gone who is going to talk about her in India???

Nepal is abusing the fact that Prashant Tamang is from Nepal and he is Indian Idol. Why did they have to wait for him to be crowned Indian Idol??? Why couldnt they make him grand ambassador anyways. win or loose he was the first Nepali to participate and reach top 5 in Indian Idol, No they had to wait for him to win. Why didnt they just declare him grand ambassador like Amit Paul. No they wanted to benefit from it.

ahem, just to update you. Many Indian Singers have sang songs in recent Pakistani films, including Asha Bhosle. (Main eik din lut kar aaon ga) sonu nigam and alka yagnik have sang previously in a few Pakistani films. I think Udit Narayan have also done the same.

and now there is not a ban as such. recently, Awarapan was released in Pakistan after going through censor board. and a few other were released too, I dont have the detail. but after going through censorship half the film is cut out, I dont know what they watch.

Its an honarary tittle which off course benefits the tourism in Nepal. Like Maya said make him the grand ambassador of peace, make him the grand ambassador of cultural connection between the two country why ambassador of peace???? He is a singer and a police man whats that got to do with tourism???

Retired or not, he is/was a brand ambassador.

If it benefits Nepal's tourism then what is the harm...Goshh, you guys are treating Nepal as some enemy country. I think you need to read a bit about the special relationship that exists between India and Nepal.

These recordings take place in either Mumbai or Dubai. Dunno about concerts, but they are rare.

Awarapan was released bec'se it was co-produced by a Pakistani. Indian movies are still banned there.

Offcourse retired or not is important. Right now Prashant owes all his time to people of India. In 2-3 years people wont care about him and then he can retire in Nepal and nobody would care about him.

Sorry but i believe all those 7 Crore votes were no charity for Nepal. Dosent matter however good relations we have with Nepal. I think that was very rude of Nepal to steal Bharat Ki Shaan.

Even if he had lost...they would still made him brand ambassador. They would have still showered him with all the love and affection.

From Indian Embassy in Nepal...

http://www.south-asia.com/Embassy-India/indneprel.htm

India-Nepal Relations

Popular and cultural ties with Nepal have consistently been close and have reflected the historical, geographical, cultural and linguistic links between the two nations. This also manifests in State to State relations which have grown stronger over the years, reinforced by regular exchange of visits at high levels, notwithstanding the political changes in both the countries in the past few years.

The signing of the India-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship in 1950 established the framework for the unique ties between the two countries. Since the early fifties, India has contributed significantly to Nepal's economic development. Beginning with major irrigation projects such as the Kosi and Gandak barrages, Indian assistance has significantly contributed to the development of the economic infrastructure in Nepal.

Indian assistance to Nepal has increased over the years. Since 1997 annual GOI disbursement has been around Rs.70 crores. Major Indian projects have been completed (BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) – Rs.88 crores), or are due to be completed, (22 Bridges on the East-West highway – Rs.55 crores). [This does not include GOI subsidy for the supply of commodities like sugar, rice, cement, fertilisers, petrochemicals, etc.; refund of excise duty levied on items exported from India; Rs. 50 crores stand-by credit facility, etc. ] A High Level Task Force, (at the level of Principal Secretary to PM and Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal) oversees progress in Indian-assisted Projects to Nepal.

~~~~~~
I would suggest everyone to read that link to understand the deep relationship that both countries share.
